In day 2 of it’s enforcement, the Lagos state government is clearing all shanties and illegal shops located within the Mandilas market area.

This, the government said, is to give way for access roads for emergency responders to access whenever there is an incident.

Recall that a fire incident engulfed the second and seventh floor in Mandilas, destroying goods and property worth millions of naira.

Emergency responders had a hard time getting into the market to quench the fire on time.

Several stores and shops were subsequently sealed to allow emergency responders to gain entrance into the affected building.

Actually this will mostly affect the indigenes and traders from the southwest. They’re the ones who operate from makeshift stalls, kiosks and shanties around that area

I know that place very well .

Igbo traders mostly rent shops in the actual buildings themselves
Since that's the case, there will be no screaming of attack on igbos grin

So Fire 🔥 Trucks can easily access buildings in case of emergencies.

I just hope mischievous people won't give this news an ethnic coloration.

Way to go!
Those tiny shops shouldn't be around the main building.

It's not personal, it is to give easy access roads for emergency responders in case of fire incidences, ok?

It's not a matter of thinking home but be careful when finding a shop that is not well situated. It can happen even in the said home. Remember the Enugu centenary city demolition saga.
