The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejere Adeboye, said Nigeria needs urgent spiritual help to overcome the challenges confronting the nation.

The pastor spoke in Kaduna on Sunday while on a visit to the state’s governor, Uba Sani.

According to Adeboye, the challenges facing the country were more than political, but problems that required spiritual solutions.

“We don’t want a situation where people begin to think of taking their own lives,” he said.

He said that political leaders appeared to have tried their humanly possible best, yet the problems persisted. “Nigeria needs the help of God and it needs the help urgently,” he added.

"I’m in Kaduna to pray for the people and give them hope,” he said.

Adeboye, however, expressed confidence that although the problems confronting Nigeria seemed to have persisted and in some areas getting worse, he trusted God that, the problems would not last forever and they would even be over sooner than later.

According to him, his tour of Nigeria, which brought him to Kaduna, was not just to organise crusades and pray for the people and Nigeria, but an opportunity to gather people together to let them know that, tomorrow is going to be alright if Nigerians can be a little more patient with God.

"I am delighted to be here again. I was here about two or so years ago with the former governor; at that time, I came to pray for some of my members who were kidnapped and they were miraculously rescued. I came to encourage their families to let them know that all will be well.”

"I have come again this time around because it has become more and more clearer to us that, the problem our nation is facing is more than political. Our problems will require a bit of spiritual solution.

“We as a country are blessed; we are blessed with people with great intelligence, we are blessed with all manners of resources and yet we have so many problems.

“And it is not as if people in authority are not trying their best; they are doing as much as humanly possible. And then we found out that when you have problems that are beyond human ability to solve, you call on the Almighty. The reason we call Him Almighty is because He has the power to solve all problems.

“So, we have been going around in our little way to support the efforts of all the various governments and parastatals to call on the Almighty to come to our aid, because we need help. We need help and we need it urgently.

Because, as much as our leaders are doing their very best to help us solve our problems, the problems seem to have persisted, and in some areas, the problems seem to be getting worse. But we trust in Almighty God that, this problems will not last forever. We trust God that the problem will even be over sooner than later.”

"That is why we have been going round holding crusade and the crusade are just a means of gathering people together to let them know tomorrow is going to be alright if we can be a little more patient with God. We believe very strongly that people need this kind of encouragement so that they don’t lose hope.

"Because when they lose hope they do all kinds of strange things; many of our youths for example, are running out of the country, forgetting that those countries they are running to, also have their own problems and then those who cannot run anywhere, we don’t want a situation where people begin to think of taking their own lives.”

"We have had quiet a few examples of people driving in Lagos to the long bridge and jumping into the lagoons. Those of them that were rescued before they drowned said they couldn’t see a future, but we keep on assuring them God is on His throne and he is not going to forsake our nation,” he said.

Governor Uba Sani told the visiting clergy that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government “needs prayers and support of clerics like you to succeed.”

"You have at critical times in our country, led interventions aimed at directing the political leadership to the path of justice and fairness. Your modern authority is a huge asset and we deeply appreciate you, sir.

“We also believe Sir, that from the remarks you made just now, that our country at this critical time requires intervention from people like you who are tested and who have in the past intervened and helped us to find solutions to our problems. We believe you won’t be tired, we also need an intervention at this critical time.”

“Like you said, many Nigerians are loosing hope and they have been very cautious about the future but like I said, we are going through difficulties because of what happened in the past and right now we have a President who is determined and focused and ready to take the country to a greater height and I have no doubt, with your intervention and prayers, our President will certainly get it right."

“So far, Mr President has taken some very important steps towards moving our country forward but most of these steps are things that might be difficult at this critical time because they are major reforms we need; both economic reforms, as well as social reforms and looking at some of the things that happened in the past hoping to correct them;

“We need some reforms that might be painful at this critical time but I have no doubt that in the nearest future, Nigeria will be better for all of us by the grace of God.”

The governor said, “We will continue to seek for your advice, for your wisdom, for your support and most importantly, for your prayers. We thank you for coming to Kaduna and we will continue to consult you for advice and wisdom.”

The person the thread is referring to is an APc politician and not a Christian..

A true Christian isn't afraid to speak truth to power.. call out their incompetence, taking no prisoners doing so..

Adeboye has been saying alot lately to deflect attention from the failing Tinubu, looking for way's to deceive his gullible followers..

No matter how hard you pray
So far the Tinubu that uses 500m to inaugurate a committee that would review minimum wage is president.. you are gladly wasting your time and energy ..

You can only fool few people at a time and not all at a time .

What is the opium of the poor....RELIGION.

Religion and politics creates wealth for a few ....but impoverished the masses .

Show me one religious leader that's not a politician and one politician that's not a religious leader....and I'll show you a country full of sane people.

When you think you have heard it all, then comes a banger that demystifies the wisdom of SENILITY.

Nigeria's problems are not spiritual sir but self inflicted and only the violent can take back what was grabbed, stolen and ran away with.

Spiritualising it is akin to making up excuses for Asiwaju.

We just hope he didn't bankroll this statement!

I don't think the economy hardships affect tithes and offerings.Even if the ordinary Nigerians don't donate politicians will donate.
Tinubu should reverse those policies he made after swearing in.Nothing like spiritual.

Theoretical man of God,I thought he said prayers would bring the dollar down.

Let them keep milking the poor in their various numbers.

China,Japan,South Africa didn't industrialised with prayers.

They sweated and worked.

We are too mumu in this country I swear, we claimed to be educated but we aren't enlightened at all, we re too fearful. Is like you are slapping someone continuously and the person keep enduring and couldn't retaliate definitely you will keep on slapping him. But you can imagine a situation whereby the person punch you in return you won't dare to slap him again... Let's summon courage and face this people for God sake.

I think Paw Adeboye talks too much these days.
He should sometimes learn how to keep quiet.
Politicians will fall your hand, reason why you don't align with any of them. Adeboye aligned himself with this APC government from the time of buhari and thy keep disappointing Nigerians that that's why he is not bold enough to call them out.
