money121: I mean, if my late maternal grandmother was ranting about how smuggling of cloth from outside was ruining her business in the 1980s. Customs has always gotten as it be. And the thing is, any government that wants to change things would not only have to purge the organization, they would also need to reset Nigerians minds on why smuggling is bad That's why I dey laff when apc thinks they can change things 2 Likes |

money121: I still believe Hamid Ali as a no nonsense disciplined man. But fighting corruption in this country takes the will of God, one man can't do it alone. Corruption will always fight back. If Buhari had made examples of some of these criminals from the go, most would have fall in line but we saw the opposite, he even pardoned convicted criminals. Fighting corruption should be a collective effort starting with the top dogs down to the crumb eaters. Very unfortunate. 1 Like |

money121: I am not holding brief for anyone, but to be sincere with you, there is nothing anyone can do to stop or stem the tide of corruption that is so endemic in every fabric of our society, until we start empowering institutions & systems as against empowering people. It is an error for individuals to wield so much power that is so difficult to be check mated, because money is always involved. What money can not buy, more money will buy it. My take: weaken individuals ,set up working systems and institutions that can not be fought by anyone. Reduce human interactions. Let there be strong procedures put in place. You can't take step C except step B is concluded, and step B won't be possible without step A. Let there be validation system set up to check and balance activities along the entire value chain. 4 Likes |

Such a shame I tell you..a country so religious yet filled with Evil people who are the same religious hypocrites.. The rot is too deep in the system and will not be easy to fix, even the EFCC itself is not left out in the jamboree of corruption. It beats once imagination Just why have they refused to prosecute these criminals?yet they are quick to prosecute those whose crimes and theft are nothing compared to these big dogs in the stealling game. The saying 'if you want to eat a frog then eat a big one' comes into mind here, because if you are to steal money in NIGERIA a certified shithole country, then in your best interest you better steal massively, that way you can escape justice..Too bad 1 Like |
