The problem with Labor is that they didn't stay neutral in the last election. It is difficult for a lot of people to believe they are not doing whatever they are doing for political reasons instead of the welfare of the people in the union. It is a weird place they put and have now found themselves

They are asking for government to meet it's obligations. Is there no reason to protest? Given how bad things have turned should they keep quiet? When Jonathan was president things were by far better but Tinubu, Buhari and the rest protested and occupied Ojota. Today, we are facing the worst times ever and all you can come up with is this.

Mynd44, stop making this kind of comment; you are a moderator, for goodness sake.

If NLC had supported Tinubu, would you be making this kind of comment?

Oh! Because they supported Peter Obi, a presidential candidate of the Labour Party, a party owned by the NLC. It has become taboo for you and your tribalistic crew.

Let me ask you: Are members of labour unions not Nigerians?

Are they not affected by Tinubu's calamitous economic policies?

Is this the first time the NLC has shown their support for a particular candidate? Why is the 2023 election different?

Have you not seen NLC state bodies throwing their support to a governor? Probably because the governor is paying workers salaries regularly and probably increasing workers salaries and benefits.

How did you become a mod here? All the issues raised by NLC, agreements reached with the government, you careless about whether the govt is serious about implementing those agreements or not for the betterment of Nigerians.

You are rather concerned with how NLC participated in the last election as if it is not their right to vote and even float a political party. Quite absurd.

Well, it is obvious that Tinubu is insane and unfit for leadership position if he doesn't know the difference between what Nigerians are yearning for currently, and Partisan politics between now and 2027.

This is why a leader is a reflection of the people. You perfectly fit in that description.

Let him fulfil all signed agreements he has with them, if they take a step further, all of us will declare them political. Even those not for BAT will join hands to jettison them.

PS: I am not for BAT, but we should all be interested in the betterment of Nigeria regardless of who's there.

That's not the first time Labour was not neutral in election.
Maybe you are not paying attention because they didn't have a frontline candidate

Everything started from the day NLC publicly backed a Candidate.

In that interview last night, the TUC President boldly said they didn't attend any rally or back any Candidate. He also stressed that they sat with all political parties and that was how it ended.

Oshiomhole backed OBJ for second term but it was subtle.

As long as those two are there, there will be no love lost, ironically, their (Ajaero & Tinubu) tenures end same year.

However, this FG is not sitting up, I will hope they reply with the part of agreement they have fulfilled.
NLC has always backed a candidate in elections.
The problem now is APC weaponising it to delegitimise their request in the public eye.
Labour Party was started by NLC
NLC was part of the June 12 struggle
So there's never been any time NLC has been apolitical
APC and its crude setup is just using it against them.

You can't shut down or attempt to shut down the economy and cause security worries 4 times in 9 months. It is senseless. Give government some time or breathing space for them to work. Governance is not same as frying akara or making block overnight.
Then the FG esp the president should shut up and implement the agreements with labour and stop playing politics with it!
If the presidency knew they could not fulfill any of the agreements they should have told labour and TUC!
Agreement is agreement!

Agreement is agreement!

It is the Labour camp that needs to shut up and allow for reasonable time for things to be done. You cannot reasonably have shut down or attempted to shut down the economy and caused security worries four different times in 9 months. Refineries, CNG and co are not like baking bread in hours and releasing it to the market. Most of the demands and processes are already in place.

What is wrong with some people? Labour unions have every right to support candidates they feel will look out for the interests.

In fact election candidates actively look for the support of labour unions as their endorsements mean the working population are on your side.

But in every election circle Labour has been supporting one party or the other in each state and at the presidential level. One of the beneficiary is Oshiobaba. He was heavily supported by Labour union in Edo. Google will heal you of the ignorance of thinking it was the first time Labour gave supporter in 2023 General Elections.
Asides, Labour Party is the creation of Labour Movement and they sometimes give support to any candidate the party presents.

Didnt the government make an agreement and gave a timeline for such agreement to materialize?
Did the FG not claim the port-harcourt refinery will come on stream by December last year?
Are we not in March?
Are the CNG buses and kits not supposed to be nationwide by now catering for the needs of the common man that have been impoverished by the insensitive polices of this administration?
If you know you cannot abide by an agreement and it's timeline, say it to the face of labour and stop making them look bad in the eyes of the people!

and what law forbids nigerians who voted Tinubu from thinking NLC is now a political tool in the hand politician after they actively campaigned against the government that nigerians voted for and still undermining it every second of the day?
I thought the law forbids campaign after election. As it is now, Tinubu and his supporters are still campaigning after election while those that lost elections are talking about governance.
Election has been done and dusted, returned had been made but you people are still taking us back to electioneering period instead of governance.
You people should better wake up and face governance as election has gone.

Where was the given timeline? You don't need to make the current labour union head look bad. They are bad, openly political and unpatriotic.

Don't act like you don't know that there were timelines for CNG buses and kits, the port-harcourt refinery, the wage awards etc
The FG had clearly stated that the pH refinery will be on stream by December 2023....do you need me to get proof of that for you or are you trying to prolong the argument?

You are just one Nigerian out of millions of Nigerians!
The truth is millions of Nigerians are suffering and the current administration seem not to have a clue about governance but prefer wasteful spending or galavanting around the world!

Please tell....when have labour made any statement implying that they were unpatriotic and political?

Does protesting that the policies of the government are bitting hard on the people and the president should honour his agreement imply they are unpatriotic?

Yes they are bad and do not complete their protest or strike because of binding agreement for a negotiation with government which made them appear before people as though they were aligning with Tinubu....I guess in future they should stubbornly start completing their protest and strikes dates even if your likes or FG will make people feel they are open to negotiation but labour refused!

lemme guess, you are obidient right?

You can't tell the difference between campaigning and discussing politics.

Lemme tell you the difference so that you will learn something.

Campaign - is when people go from house to house or do jingle to tell or beg people to vote for a particular candidate.

Political discussion - this what people do after election has been conducted.

What is happening now is political discussion not campaign.

Now that you have learnt something, I hope you won't make the same mistake again in the future.
