Gov Otu Suspends Civil Service Commission Chairman by frankiekinase: 5:28pm On Mar 11
Governor Bassey Otu has suspended the Cross River State Civil Service Commission Chairman, Mr Uko Inaku with immediate effect.

CONVERSEER gathered that Inaku who was appointed by former Governor Ben Ayade was suspended on Monday, 11 March 2024.

The Governor also appointed Sir Maurice Effiwatt to replace Inaku as the Acting Chairman of the Cross River State Civil Service Commission.

The suspension and appointment of Inaku and Effiwatt are contained in a press release with Reference Number: Our Ref: SSG/GSA/102/Vol.VI/333, signed by Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, Secretary to the State Government, SSG, on Monday, 11 March 2024.

Inaku was the former head of Ogoja Urban Development Authority while Effiwatt was the former Commissioner Representing Cross River State at the Niger Delta Development Board, NDDC.

Good gesture. As a sitting governor, feel free to hire and fire based on your conviction of poor performance, irrespective of whether the victim was appointed by you or your predecessor. That's how you show leadership and prove that you are in charge.
