On the 26th of November 2021 the family of Sylvester Oromoni came online, shared a very painful video of their brother and son, the boy was in pain as the family made the allegation that he was bullied by some students of his school and allegedly p0isoned.

This sparked online outrage as people called for justice for the victim.

On the 30th of November 2021, the family announced that their son had died once more blaming the school, and 5 boys.

There was massive outage online as expected with this kind of painful news as school bullying is not uncommon.

On the 2nd of December, Dowen College released a statement, denying any sort of complicity in the death of Sylvester, they shared that the child had allegedly reported to the school clinic with an ankle injury allegedly sustained while playing football on the 22nd of November and was taken home on the 23rd. They stated that they were not aware of how and why his health had detoriated to that point.

The schools statement was met with anger and outrage as online and offline protests ensued with the Lagos state Government weighing in and ordering the closure of the school on the 3rd of December also ordering an immediate investigation into the allegations of bullying against the school, the remote and immediate causes of the young boys death.
On the 9th of December the 5 accused boys were arrested and remanded in a Juvenile home.

On the 1st of January a leaked autopsy report supposedly carried out at the Warri Central Hospital by one Dr Clement Vhriterhire claimed that Sylvester had died from "acute injury due to chemical intoxication in a background of blunt force trauma", this report was widely shared online and sparked another set of outrage.

Some called for the r@zing down of the school and parents , teachers, employees and other students of the school were massively b#llied online

On the 5th of January, following a joint autopsy which included Dr Clement who allegedly conducted the Warri Central Hospital autopsy reported that the cause of death was " Septicemia, Labor pneumonia with acute pyelonephritis, pyomostis of the right ankle and acute pneumonia due to severe sepsis, and found no signs of external or internal trauma to support the claim of bullying, the DPP Lagos state cleared the 5 accused boys of all charges and the family rejected the findings of the DPP and requested a Coroners Inquest. The family retained renowned lawyer Femi Falana.

On 15th of January the Coroner's Inquest commenced.

During the duration of the Inquest from 15th January 2022 to April 2024, both sides presented evidence to the Inquest.

While Dowen College represented by Antony Kpokpo was able to provide evidence to substantiate their claims that Sylvester suffered an Ankle Injury while playing football by the autopsy findings and witness testimony, 14th March 2022, during his testimony ,Dr Clement Vhriterhire whose alleged first autopsy report from Warri Central Hospital was leaked to indicate poisoning and blunt force trauma, stating that the leaked report was mere documentation of verbal report from the Oromoni family. He aligned with the findings of the autopsy conducted by the Joint team which he was part of in Lagos.

The family also from witness testimony including the Dr who treated him- Dr Owhojede showed he was wrongfully treated for Malaria as against an acute infection which led to Sepsis. On the 15th of January, 2024 written addresses were admitted from Femi Falana SAN for the family and Mr Anthony Kpokpo for Dowen College amd Judgement was set for the 12th of April

Sylvester Oromoni was buried on the 27th of January 2024.

On the 15th of April 2024, Judgement was entered clearing the 5 boys accused of bullying him, namely: Favour Benjamin, Michael Kashamu, Edward Begue, ,Ansel Temile, and Kenneth Inyang. The court ruled that he died of natural causes but indicted the parents and Dr Owhojede of negligence in a 6 hour Judgment.

The autopsy ruled out the poisoning which cleared the older boys. No sentiments in science.

It is either white or black with scientific results.

However, the parents of the deceased believe Bullying played a factor in the death of their son. This case is similar to Mohbad, Naira Marley and Samlarry saga.
