They are not rivers. They are lakes, man-made lakes. This flooding is result of engineering failure with the artificial water and beaches. They will not admit to the failure because the water and resort generates massive tourism and earnings. Their economy could be dented and image ruined if people are scared and dont return.

Why do they go for cloud seeding without creating proper drainage service. The whole Dubai as a country don't have proper drainage service, not even Burj khalifa Tower..

May be it's time for them to stop messing with the weather

There is nothing extraordinary about cloud seeding, people are just intrigued by the term because its exotic and trending.

When the season is terribly dry and scorching, rainmakers in Africa would be commissioned to intervene. For centuries in Africa we have done this successfully. Our own people call it ancient and unscientific, and ridiculed the rainmakers as illiterates that hold on to archaic beliefs. I believe the knowledge has died out...or almost lost now.

The scientific approach is to fly plane into high altitude and sprinkle salt into high clouds. The salinity breaks down molecules and release water. This we call rain.

I will clarify for you better. Africa is not in cold latitudes and so we do not experience icy conditions, but sometimes it rains and we get ice mixed in the rain. Why? This is because at high altitudes in the clouds water is in solid form -ice. When they melt they turn to rain. When partially melted they turn to rain and ice.

So cloud seeding, as I explained is nothing but a buzzword. It is simply throwing salt on ice to melt it and release water. Practically same thing they do in winter climates when they roll out trucks to sprinkle salt on icy roads and melt snow so driving and walking on the roads are safe.

Dubai has good drainage. Their artificial lakes and resort beaches are failing.

Peace!

Okay now. Let them enjoy more flooding with their cloud seeding endeavor.
