Jeremiah was a Prophet of God, and Jesus Christ was the last prophet sent from God of Israel; Jesus Christ said all those who pretend to be of Him yet claiming to be prophets were false Prophets and False Teachers.

Paul was not a Prophet sent to the people by the God of Israel--YHWH--- and as such could not make statements differently from that already stated by the Prophets before him. Hence the reason why much of his writings were presented by him as a collection of his opinions/views in letters.

Paul's statement in that verse is his view on what it means to live one's life in continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ — what it means to be in Christ.
