She never reach the age of being a feminist who are mostly bitter women, she is just a women's advocate which is not bad for her age

Leave her alone for now

Just be ready to join her in prayers or escort her to Redeemed Camp or shiloh by the time she clocks 40years and unmarried

Western Education is the breeding ground of Feminism. Some percentage of women dont need to be educated.

Tell her to desist from Woke Mentality if she want to succeed in life as an african. That there is something called 'gender role' in the family.

The masculine male role in the family is to provide and protect while the feminine female role is in homemaking, caregiving and in nurturing. And that a girl embracing her natural Godgiven role of homemaking is not domestication or slavery.

Tell her that world reknown African Woman like Ngozi Okonjo Iwuala is excelling in life, she is not a feminist and she is happily married with kids.

Ask her the reasons why NOI with all her exposures, experience and accomplishments is not interested in feminism and the socalled liberation of women... because there is nothing there to liberate.

She should flee from wokeness else she will turn to a bitter and frustrated single broke mother in years to come.

Just to be clear ... is being a feminist the same as being a lesbian? If not whybare you upset when she already explained what she meant by being a feminist? ... what is bad about her advocating for women?

She'll meet a boy she likes in school and this her imagination will be thrown outer the window. Don't worry yourself
joemag:
I recently went home to check on my parents. It happens that our lastborn who is in a boarding school also was around for a week break they were given at school.

On one of the evenings as I was talking to her and her dreams and aspirations this 16 old girl told me she wanted to become a Feminist. I was shocked but remained calm and gently asked her what she meant by being a Feminist.
She told me that by that she aims to become an advocate of women's right. She started narrating how men are domesticating women and whole lots.
I was marvelled at her passion and zeal and how convincing she was .
Deep down I knew that I have a problem to solve and I needs pragmatic steps in order not to cause more harms.

This girl has written her JAMB with nice scores and will soon be in the varsity.

Please, is there anyone with concrete approach on how I will go about this?
Re: Help! Our Last Born Wants To Be A Feminist by Martinez39s(m): 4:58pm On May 11
Lol. This is why you don't give young boys and girls access to social media until you have trained them properly and they are eighteen. If they must use social media, try your best to regulate and limit their use. Don't underestimate the influence of social media and the tons of personalities, ideas, and vices therein.

For parents and guardians, always have it in mind that society will always join hands to mentally mold your kids.

Well, once the feminist virus embeds itself in a young female's mind, it's a wrap.

I don’t see any problem here, what’s wrong against advocating for women’s right. Feminism as it is, is the political and economic liberation of women all over the world and we need more women, young girls to wake and stand against all form of gender segregation and stereotypes against women.

Feminism is not a woman refusing to cook for her husband or whatever you think it is. It is both men and women standing on equal grounds in the society.

If you read the OP you would have seen that this is exactly the idea of feminism the girl has. Besides, what rights would a Nigerian woman say she doesn't have today? Genuinely curious.

All you need to do is show her how lonely, depressed, bitter, toxic, sexually starved, ridiculously aggressive, and shameless modern day feminists are.

If she doesn't want to end up like the many 49 year old bitter, ugly, evening newspaper wanna-be feminists that we have on nairaland, who instead of worrying about the fact that their mates are happily married with beautiful children, decide to (since they're so jobless) spend all their time arguing with young men on this forum about senseless things, then she should better listen to you.

Feminists are bitter people. Don't let the supposed career success of few of them deceive you. Deep down, they die everyday because no man wants them. Ask your sister if she really wants that for herself.

Feminists are usually foolish women who, each time they speak, reinforce the idea that women should remain silent. Feminism is really a misandric and female-supremacist mindset and movement. A movement and mindset of playing victim, female hubris and entitlement, contempt/lack of empathy for men, self-centeredness, and double-standards favouring women.

Her idea of becoming a Feminist.

Iron sharpens iron it seems she eloquently articulate her passion so well that you re almost persuaded that she is on the right path.

One of the things you can do is to intelligently engage on the shortcoming of feminism, and how it might affects her.

Is advocating for women's right a bad thing...?

Even you were marveled at her passion and zeal.

Allow her... As long as her passion isn't a toxic one.

Most people have taken feminism to a toxic level but the original ideas of feminism is female education and equal opportunities in education, work and politics.

I don't see that as a bad thing!
Actually it's already becoming toxic if a thinks men are 'domesticating women'. It'll become way worse if she finds her colleagues with like minds. Feminism becomes so toxic to the extent it invalidates women itself like how transgender movement does already

That's what feminism is right now 🔥 they create problems that don't exist right now

Men and women are equal in society already, it's just for women to cease the chance, there is no need for a movement

So your idea is making young people ignorant then which is way worse. It's not the responsibility of the parents to take social media from them but guide them through what they want to instill

I noticed that on some social media space especially X, the term “Feminism” is mostly misused by those woke girls who’s only job are to wake up in the morning and be pretty for their cameras. Whatever social injustice they might had bear is nothing compared to that of a woman who’s due for a promotion since the last 4 years but can’t get it because she’s a woman. A woman that has refused to open her legs to get fvuked for what’s duly hers. And yet she gets mocked every now and then and her male colleagues are trying everything to make whatever space she has at toxic.

I am a woman and I suffer social and emotional injustice every now and then.

All OP needs to do is tell her that she is not a victim; men are not oppressing women; men and women have equal rights; and her choices are not to be blamed on anyone else. She should own her life and encourage women in the spirit of her activism to stop playing victims.

There are bad women and bad men, and both genders suffer in the hands of both group, however there is no global and clandestine patriarchal structure oppressing and depriving women.

What is the essence of training a girl child through school, seeing them have the same rights as men, and have access to leadership positions, only for them to play victim, peddle the narrative of oppression, and embrace this virus called feminism?

Edit: unfortunately, the girl will likely not listen. Usually, women must hit rock bottom because of their hard-headed attitude before they start applying common sense.
