The truth may not set you free but it is the truth you know and act upon is what would set you free. |

I would be posting the Awful Truth here for the benefit of the likes of italo who could not, would not or cannot access the e-comic for reasons best known to them. The Awful Truth answers the question of whether "he" really is the "Holy Father," or actually something quite different? Not ALL religion is of God. |

Right. The religious are turning on each other. |

Logic Mind: Wrong. It is better to get God's righteousness by faith in Christ than to get man's religion that gets you nowhere. |

How about the "awful truth" that many today call upon the name Jesus instead of Yahoshua THE TRANS ATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE-BROUGHT INTO SLAVERY IN SHIPS (Deut 28:68)and that many also misinterpret the rapture and do not understand the bride of the Messiah. |

amor4ce: Now that you know His name what have you done with it? How would you interprete meaning of Christ? |
Re: The Awful Truth! by amor4ce(m): 10:24pm On Jan 06, 2012 |
I call upon HIS name. Some have argued that Jesus is not a transliteration and perhaps not a translation. Some say that Jesus is actually derived from Iezeus. You can search online for that name. In addition, there is the argument that the most widely used image of Jesus is that of Cesare Borgia. Christ is derived from the Greek Χριστός (Khristós) meaning "the anointed one". Since the time of the Old Testament, HE was known by Israel as Mashiach (Messiah), meaning "anointed" and not Christ. When the apostles wrote their texts I very much doubt that they would have used Christ instead of Mashiach. Since the Greeks came up with their own translation instead of transliteration, why don't we translate Mashiach into our own languages. Nevertheless, I prefer to say HIS name as Yahoshua |

The Alpha and Omega never told us to bow down to images, to make images to adore, and to remember HIM with images. Yet many in this part of the world bow to images from the Amorites (oyinbo) of Genesis 15:16. Amazingly, the Yoruba traditionalists have never dared to make such an image. This hypocrisy on the part of many Christians was evident in their criticisms of FESTAC '77 and the Abuja Cultural Carnivals. We can learn more by studying HIS statutes including the event narrated in Daniel 3. Isn't the insistence on disobedience an act of rebellion? |

amor4ce: This is why we should turn a new leaf this year and go back to the first commandment (Mark 12:30), first love (Rev.2:4), first works (Rev.2:5), first faith (1 Tim. 5:12), firstfruits (Rom. 11:16;16:5), first estate (Jude 6), and first principle (Heb. 5:12) in this new year that it may be well with us. |

Many of HIS people today have been deceived into profaning the Sabbath - Yahoshua taught in the Synagogues on the Sabbath rather than the day after. |

amor4ce: Did Jesus teach on any other day apart from the "Sabbath"? 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: The Awful Truth! by OLAADEGBU(m): 11:39pm On Jan 09, 2012 |
Our Weekly Day Of Rest And Worship "And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day" (Deuteronomy 5:15) It is significant that God’s Ten Commandments are found twice in the Bible (Exodus 20:21–17 and Deuteronomy 5:6–21). In fact, "Deuteronomy" means "The Second Law." The two are worded identically, with a few exceptions. The most significant of these changes is in connection with the reason given for obeying the fourth commandment, to "keep the sabbath day." In Exodus, the reason given is: "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day" (Exodus 20:11). Here in "the second law," the reason given is that God saved Israel out of bondage in Egypt, and now was about to enter the promised land. In other words, when the Israelites observed each Sabbath day in rest and worship, they were acknowledging God as both their Creator and their Redeemer. Christians also, as they devote every seventh day as a day of rest and worship, should be remembering God for His finished creation ("the heavens and the earth were finished"—Genesis 2:1) and His finished redemption ("It is finished" was Christ’s victory cry on the cross—John 19:30). The word "Sabbath" means "rest," of course—not "Saturday" or "Sunday" or even "seventh" (the word for "seventh" in Hebrew is similar, but distinctly different from that for "sabbath". Most Christians now believe it is appropriate to honour the Lord Jesus (who is both their Creator and Redeemer) to take their seventh day of rest and worship on the first day of each week, thereby recognising both His finished work of redemption and also His finished work of creation.
