True that.

Possible line up vs Middlesboro

..........................Szceszny...........................
Bellerin.... Gabriel.... Kosh.... Gibbs
.......................... Flamini.............................
............ Rosicsky............ Ozil....................
Walcot........... Giroud............ Welbeck

Subs: Ospina, Monreal, Chambers, Coquelin, Cazorla, Akpom

Bellerin has been a tremendous back up for Debuchy, some have already forgotten he is an Arsenal player.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by debosky(m): 11:46am On Feb 14, 2015
Bellerin has been OK, but not much more than that. I think the Spurs game showed how vulnerable we are on the right if the opposition targets that wing.

Both goals came due to mistakes on the right - first goal because no one picked Harry Kane as he drifted to the far post after the corner, the second from poor closing down of Bentaleb allowing him all the time in the world to pick his cross for Harry Kane.

Not that I'm solely blaming Bellerin for the goals, but it does show that we can be exposed in that area so there is definitely room for improvement.

As long as he keeps learning and improving, Bellerin will one day be a great RB. He's only 19.
He's really improved from the Bellerin I saw two seasons ago in the youth team and then later on at Watford. If he continues at this rate, we should expect great things from him.

FA Cup is back. 'Boro have shown us that we cannot afford o underate them. We should some faces return to the team - Szczesny, Gibbs, Chambers and maybe new boy Gabriel.

For him to get the nod ahead of Chambers meant great improvement. He is no Sagna, but even Sagna could have made those errors on a bad day. Sometimes errors may be forced due to how the team is shaped, like against Spurs, Welbeck failed to track back to aid Bellerin faced with a rampaging duo of Rose and Erikson.

Question: What can Arsene do to this present crop to ensure we win the title next season? Your thoughts.

I don't think it took much to get ahead of Chambers at that moment - the guy was worn out and struggling badly so it wasn't that much of a surprise. That said he has delivered competent performances, just conscious of the weaknesses in his game.

Keep the team fit? grin

That would be the start IMO - you can't keep racking up injuries like we do and have any chance. There's a limited number of players you can have (and Wenger isn't a big fan of rotating) hence keeping your best guys fit is the best option. Add to that a DM, bring back Jenks from loan and the magic ingredient called consistency and let's see how far we go.

8/11. Bellerin no even see bench, Arsene pairs Cazorla and Ozil in midfield, Alexis joins Welbeck and Giroud in attack- too much fire power for Boro, I hope say Wenger dey think about UCL?

Ospina off bench too. You're very good at this line up predictions.

Let's hope the boys pull this off today. Boro is a worthy opponent. #COYG

Gabriel Paulista is the kind of person you hire to beat up rent boys like Diego Costa or Ivanovic.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by pazienza(m): 8:46pm On Feb 15, 2015
Hmm, what can i say, wenger always have a way of beating the likes of middlesborough. Nice game either way, much more assured and controlled performance than the nightmare against Leicester.

Ahem, make sure mertersacker continue staying on the bench, Paulista is a big upgrade, good solid performance from him today. Koscielny was even overlapping, knowing that Paulista has the pace to cover up for him, something he(Kocielny) would never try when paired the German snail.

I hope Mertesacker become slowly eased off the first team, and then sold in the summer,to get the funds to use and acquire a solid back up for Paulista, while the youngstars like Hayden are given a chance to prove themselves.

Sell Per? Are you attempting humour? undecided

Serious clubs are holding on to and some even buy vastly experienced CBs yet you're advocating selling Per - next thing you'll start another rant that Wenger is clueless when our defensive performances worsen.

One would think Per was missing when we had a run of clean sheets a few weeks ago. Just because of one decent performance against Boro we should start easing him out. Talk about short sightedness of the highest order.

Study in contradiction here. Can you clarify the difference between the 'likes of Boro' and Leicester given they are, in effect only one place apart in the league at the moment?

Sure - having a decent game against Boro is now the measure for determining when you should bench a WC winning defender.

For Germany to win the WC, Mertesacker had to be benched throughout the knockout stages, when low discovered that he was the hole in the defense that made the team leak cheap goals in the group stages.

Since Arsenal became too impotent to beat the big boys, some of us took solace in Arsenal's ability to easily beat the likes of boro and 'ceister, you can imagine my fears watching 'ceister dominate Arsenal.

"Mertesacking" would never get first team football in any top European club, he is simply too sluggish. He is no longer a starter in German team, the same should be applicable in Arsenal.

Better hold off on the forms. Your disposable income is going disposable. You go buy huggies diaper tire. And the cost has gone up.

I love this answer Arsene Wenger gave. Filled with confidence grin

on if he’d rather play United at Old Trafford or Bradford at home…
What I want is to go to Wembley, no matter who we play.
