Stephen Ojerinola was an 18yr old boy who lived with his mother, stepfather and siblings in Camberwell, South East London. He went missing April this year and for seven months, his family frantically searched for him.

On Sunday November 20th, Stephen's remains were found in Lynsted Garden, Eltham. Test results showed he had been stabbed to death.

Two men, Lee Davies, 35, of Blackheath, south-east London, and William Regan, 36, of Lynsted Gardens have been charged with Mr Ojerinola's murder, but the men have refused to say why they killed this teenager, who family say, wanted to do so much with his life,

A stabbing in a supposedly safe city is always alarming, but to place those occasional incidents in proper perspective, scores of Nigerians resident in their own homeland vanish DAILY without a trace, into the blood-caked dens of ritual murder gangs, never to be mentioned again outside of their immediate families.

This was a sad story, I know the boy and I have been to his house to sympathise with family.

It was such a bizarre case considering the fact that he was killed and the white guys involved buried him so that there won't be any traces of him. But because of his family's prayers and his spirit that won't allow the killers to rest, one of the guys went to report the case hence why the case is out in the air. More bizarrely, the press seems to be showing no interest! for a case which is that serious!

Maybe the press isn't showing enough interest because we the Nigerian community are so quiet about this. Also, i learned that a 16 year old Nigerian was murdered in the US, i heard that his killer rode up to him and asked him if he was Nigerian and then shot him dead. Our kids are being killed and we do nothing. In contrasts, we read that Nigerians are up in arms, protesting at  the embassy in America because Nigerian legislators etc voted to hand out ten year sentences to practicing homosexuals. Our priorities seems confused.

may their souls RIP
