This is to him who hath understanding. Decipher this message: His followers called him "Daddy".

Jones was called "Father" or "Dad" by the adults as well

Does this ring a bell?

Deja vu.
Reverend jones was CIA agent who was helping the CIA to conduct brainwashing experiments on a mass scale using religion. The experiment was very successful.

While I can hardly put any evil beyond the CIA, I find this hard to believe especially since Reverend Jones killed himself. CIA agents usually escape after the atrocities have been committed.

I watched a documentary on the incident recently, and the camera focused on a sign-board with an ironic quote (by George Santayana): "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". For what ever reason, Reverend Jones could relate to this quote, but I found it ironic since the quote applies to what's currently going on in Christianity - quite a number of churches refer to their "MOG" as "Daddy"; just as was Reverend Jones.
