Another generation of ghost policemen in the making. The perpetrators of the last heist haven't been caught neither has the money been refunded. I hope Nigerians are paying attention.

I just wonder what the screening process will be like. People should be on the lookout for those that come bearing letters from senators and representatives. Those who come with such letters had better be kicked out because it is generally unqualified people that go for such back door entries.

This singular act will place justice where it is supposed to be and people would be able to report cases to the police through these people then equality and equity would be the next line of action to tow please let us start to help this clueless government solve our own issues mind you I would also want them to look at this defend or otherwise disagree and give us their own calculations knowlegde they say is power and we are all learned and would be able to reason along strong and objective lines

@Beaf where are you
This is very important since they are now reading Nairaland:-

One barrel of Crude oil = 42gallons or
159 litres

2) Our Refineries (i.e 4) Installed
(combined) capacity  = 445,000
barrels per day

3) Actual refineries capacity due to
ageing equipment = 30% i.e. 133,500
barrels per day
.
4) . 133,500 barrels = 21.2 million litres

5) Local required consumption (F.O.S) =
12millions litres

6) It means that even our MORIBOND
refineries can actually meet our local
consumption need of petroleum.

7) The cost structure of crude oil (i.e.
Qua Iboe Crude Oil) production per barrel;
- Findings / development - $3.5
- Production cost              - $1.5
- Refining Cost                 - $12.6
- Pipeline/transportation  - $1.5
- Distr/bridging fund Margin -$15.69

cool True cost of one litre of petroleum
anywhere in Nigeria;
- Total sum cost per barrel = $34.8
- 1ltr cost = $34.8/159 litres = $0.219
- Naira equiv. 0.219xN160= N35.02k
- Add Tax N5 + N35.02 = N40.02

9) Let FGN refute the above composition
and if not, they should tell us how
they came about N65/litre.

10) Locally refined products cannot be
sold at International price.

11) We really do not need FGN SUBSIDY
as there was NONE in the first place.

12) What is LACKING, is the WILL to
enforce LAW ON CORRUPTION.

Pls re-broadcast until it gets to the right quarters for their response

From the above figures, we don't need any fuel subsidy and we should not even debate on it, let the FG starts selling the petro at that rate then talk finish without too many grammar!

My first question: is the FG mass recruitment in order to combact / defeat or b/c of Boko Haram?

Secondly: Or FG want 2 mass recruit for lack of sufficient security personnel?

what ever the reason, for any security recruitment 2 be fruitful in present Nigeria, there must be complete overhaul & re-orientation of the security agencies. The FG shld learn to solve problems by finding out the root / cause than always pursueing shadow. Reacting to events wouldn't still help without planning to prevent such by creating different scenarios with answers.

If FG thinks the Nigerian situation it 2 complex & compounded for her to solve, call 4 Sovereign National Conference, else gv ppl like me few months 2 sit in for u, those that must not exist 4 Nigeria to be transformed wld stop existing uh.

My observation is that there have to be much provisions for transparency, through proper collation of information about those being recruited and their recruiters. The  security challenge in Nigeria is not only about size of the personnels but how qualified they are for that sector.

Indeed, I am very much interested in providing them with better equipment and the least standard requirement for them should be high school qualifications(which most of the Boko Haram don't possess). I think if these guidelines and others are well followed the country might achieve something better with the recruitment plan.

This is a good move, but let them start recruiting educated people and give equal opportunity to each zone. All new recruits should also be prepared for management and senior official positions. They must also take exams which they must pass befor ebecoming officers. This is apart from the physical training of course. There are a lot of unemployed youths, so the job package should be humane and attractive to the new recruits. smiley

A very good opportunity for BH members to join the police and other security agencies!!!

Without due screening process in this exercise, we will have:
1) Police bribery check point every 2 feet
2) more guns for numbskull robbers and kidnappers.
3)More accidental discharges

If done well, it will go a long way in warding off some robberies but being nigeria where
nothing works and loop holes are always exploited and blown apart. . . . . .

It is a wrong step because there is no database in the country to ensure that the right people are engaged.
what will likely happen is that all sorts of riff raffs including Boko Haram and armed robbers will be engaged in error as happened during OBJ's regime when the Police did a similar exercise. The security situation would be worsened and compounded.
The National Census and the National Identity card which would have provided a central database of Nigerians were messed up on the altar of political banditry.

That is the surprising thing about this country. A country where national identification is not important or regarded is going to be insecure in every way. It is time to start addressing the issues with the social security identification!

You don't know the half of it. Do you know that Nigeria's Police Force has only ONE forensic detective, one CSP Benedict Agbo or something? This guy tried to create an elite and thoroughly polished CSI department, asking for 20 start up trainee candidates and when the list came from Abuja the names had been bloated to 200!!! When he interviewed a third of them he found they could hardly hold a conversation, much less look under a microscope!
That's the truth! When Govs, senators, etc make their lists what do you think it'll mean for this recruitment galore?
