The controversy trailing the suspension of the President of the Court of Appeal, PCA, Justice Isa Ayo Salami from office is far from over, as the National Judicial Council, NJC, yesterday, maintained that only the National Industrial Court, NIC, has the jurisdiction to order his re-instatement.

Urging a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to hands-off the suit that was instituted before it by the suspended PCA, the NJC, through a preliminary objection it filed yesterday, insisted that “this matter is relating to or is connected with labour, employment, trade unions, industrial relations and matters arising from work place, the conditions of service including health, safety and welfare of labour, employees, workers and matters incidental thereto, or connected therewith, over which only the National Industrial Court has exclusive jurisdiction by virtue of section 254c (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.” http://trends.com.ng/2012/02/salami-case-industrial-court-power-re-instate-njc/
