He just hasn't proved he was worth the hype at United, even though he's been limited by injuries.

He switched between flanks in the wing back position and did very well. All we are asking for is more consistency from him.

I remember him in Villa colors giving us a torrid time before we came back to snatch a 2-2 draw at Villa Park years ago.

I think he was the best Dutch defender at the world Cup and I feel if van Gaal really wants a defender, he can snap him up instead of some of the names I'm reading in the papers whom we are linked to,but it's just my opinion.

I've never really been of the view that we need to dismantle this present side. All I ask for is a decent CM who can control the middle, someone like Strootman. For me we just need a manager who understands the temperament of the guys we have. Strange that he didn't choose to pursue him when he was available. It would be hard to get Strootman in my view. It may not be the exact 70m but I'm pretty sure the fee would be high.

this time last summer, we had difficulties winning preseason games under moyes. he's not bothered about tactics or formations - all he wants is fitness of the players. he runs them ragged till they vomit.

3-5-2 is actually 3-4-1-2. he wants a number 10 to operate behind the 2 strikers. so mata/kagawa would play behind rooney & RVP just like sneijder was operating behind robben & RVP.

the strength in the formation is that we would dominate the midfield, hug possession & when we are under attack, the wingers become full backs & we have 5 defenders. it's very effective if the wing-backs don't burn out.

We are desperately chasing an expensive midfielder, which says so much of cleverley's value to LVG.
