A 3SC supporter slumped and died before his team’s home NPL victory in Ibadan on Saturday

Shooting Stars Sports club of Ibadan defeated Ocean Boys by a lone goal in their Nigerian Premier League match, but five minutes before the game, the Ibadan side tragically lost one of its staunch supporters, Alfa Bashir Imam.

Jubril Arowolo, media officer of the club, said that the incident happened just before the game but it did not deter the team from beating Ocean Boys.

“It was an unfortunate incident. There was rain before the game and just before the match started, we heard noise outside the playing arena,” Arowolo told Goal.com.

“I went to check and found out that one of our prayer warriors slumped and died inside the rain.

“He was one of our supporters that stood by us all the time. We are going to miss him.

“The incident did not deter the players as they gave their best to beat Ocean Boys by a lone goal,” Arowolo said.

In Saturday’s other matches, Wikki Tourists defeated Abubakar Bukola Saraki by a lone goal, while Rising Stars and Sharks played out a goalless draw.
