As the battle by the people of Delta North begins to determine who succeeds Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan 2015, the ward congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ika south local government area last Saturday turned bloody, sending to the hospital a former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr. Martins Okonta.

Trouble started at the state PDP secretariat in Asaba when Mr. Okonta protested against the choice of the Returning Officer for the ward congress. His protest resulted in a bloody fracas between him and other party members who resisted his objection to the Returning Officer. It was gathered that Mr. Okonta was advancing the interests of a former Secretary to the state government and current National Assembly member from Delta North, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa. In the heated argument which followed, Mr. Okonta, who is the himself the representative of Ika South constituency in the Delta Assembly, was assaulted he lost consciousness. He was immediately rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital.

the masses must learn to make pdp members our enemies. let us kill them at sight. pdp is more dangerous than aids. let us wipe pdp out of our system for nigeria to progress. when next they see that man, let them try and kill him.

when will things start happening differently in this country, imagine grown up men fighting themselves for leadership positions, you'll just know that they are just fighting for their own selfish reasons, this is not about pdp, politicians are politicians, they will forever remain cunning and deceptive irrespective of their political parties, we should start a communist state, democracy no fit this country.

He was beaten in Anioma and not Warri except you're insinuating that trouble started in Ika and then they proceeded to warri to finish what they started.

pls u guys should stop talking crap. The Man is a nice man and well-known to me. I just called him and I thank God he is back to abuja and in very good health as if nothing happened. All of you claiming PDP are devils will do worse and loot more if you are ever in any of those power positions. So will I.

What sort of life is this Mr. Okonta? If ur son sees u like this will there still be respect for u? What type of father-figure do u want to be to him?
Senator Okowa that u're fighting for is still holding his dignity and u are lying on d bear floor face-up in an I SURRENDER POSITION. It shows there is honour and dignity in Nigerian politics at all. Even though i dont know u. I am already ASHAMED of u. Tufia e!
