A ghastly motor accident along Potiskum –Damturu this morning claimed the lives of 10 persons who were burnt to death.

An eye witness, Alhaji Bako, said all the 10 persons that died were passengers’ of a Volkswagen golf car travelling to Ngelzarma village in Yobe State.

“All of them died on the spot, they were in a golf vehicle that was overloaded and they hit a tanker conveying fuel to Maiduguri and their car burst into flame,” said Mr. Bako,  who lost a pregnant sister in the accident.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps are at the venue of the accident conveying the charred remains of the victims to Damaturu Hospital.

^^^ The report stated the car was overloaded. It could be 7 adults and 3 children or whatever combinations you can think of.

Let me put more Light 2 this fake News Story,the accident happened in Austria not in nigeria.

Use your brains, dummy. Using a stock photo (for want of an actual photo of the accident) does not make the story false.

In the source article the photo is clearly labelled 'accident scene' not 'Potiskum accident scene'.

An example. Super Eagles of Nigeria played a game against Rwanda on wednesday. Yakubu Aiyegbeni scored the winner for Nigeria. There are no pictures of the game. Newspaper x carries a report titled "Nigeria defeats Rwanda" & illustrates the report with a picture of Yakubu scoring a goal against Benin. Is the story false?

Ten people were burnt to death this morning in a ghastly motor accident in Potiskum, Yobe state.

The accident which occurred around 9am involved an overloaded golf salon car loaded with 10 passengers.

All the 10 passengers in the Golf car died at the spot.

"They were roasted beyond recognition," said Bakoji Alhaji, who lost a pregnant sister and her four children.

Road safety officials did not speak on the incident but were seen at the scene of the accident carrying out a rescue operation.

Witnesses said the salon car which was heading towards Ngelzarma, a village near Damaturu, the Yobe State capital hit the back of a fuel tanker which was heading to Maiduguri from Pot Harcourt.

At least 10 persons were burnt to death on Wednesday morning in an auto crash which occurred along Potiskum–Damturu Highway, Yobe State.



The accident occurred when a Volkswagen Golf car travelling to Ngelzarma village ran into a trailer that was conveying fuel to Maiduguri.

According to Alhaji Bako, an eyewitness who also lost his sister in the accident, the 10 persons that died were passengers in the car.

“All of them died on the spot. They were in a golf vehicle that was overloaded and they hit a tanker conveying fuel to Maiduguri and their car burst into flame,” Bako said.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were present at the scene of the accident, removing the burnt bodies of the victims for deposit at Damaturu Hospital mortuary.

Especially if the picture does not reflect the details in the story.
