The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has condemned the spate of explosions currently rocking the nation, just as it urged members of the Boko Haram sect to embrace dialogue.

Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, gave the charge on Sunday while reacting to the deadly bomb incident at St Finbarr’s Catholic Church in Jos, Plateau State which also sparked reprisal attacks in which about ten people were killed in parts of the city.

A statement by Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Danladi Ndayebo, said the governor urged the perpetrators of the “dastardly act to respect the sanctity of human life while expressing their grievances, saying that the forum is pained by the latest bomb attacks on schools and places of worship.”

Aliyu said the surest way to resolve differences is through dialogue and challenged those with grievances in all parts of the country to follow the path of dialogue instead of violence.

“The forum commiserated with the families of those killed or injured during the blast and called on all security agencies to double their efforts in the discharge of their responsibilities of protecting the lives and property of the citizens,” the statement said and reiterated the resolve of the governors of the 19 states of the North to work with the Federal Government to ensure that normalcy returns to the country.

Some one should help me ask the northern governors wat they meant by dialogue with boko haram? When two ppl are fighting for house, land or anything, this is when the word dialogue comes into play. But boko haram said that western education is a sin, the want sharia state or law, they want christians to leave north, they will attack christians, christians drink the blood and eat flesh of moslems, and that their members held in prison should be released. Brothers and sisters in nairaland, does it seem to you that any sensible human being will want to dialogue with ppl who don't even know the purpose of their activities. On what basis will you dialogue? If they want independence just like biafra, we can understand, but i have not seen any good motive. The govs who said this establish them and now they don't know the damage it has done to the north as a whole. No person from south especially the south south and south east will seek to establish any investment in the north.

The northern governors are insincere to their people. They deny them good education and deceive them that they can make a living from religion while they loot public funds. They have converted the almajiris into criminals, murderers and terrorists who are against western education. They added insult to injury by demanding for islamization of Northern Nigeria. The governors have failed in their responsibilities. They lack integrity and shame for calling for dialogue with a barbaric sect. Already they have brought causes upon their people. God shall judge them accordingly for their wickedness.
