i think the man in the grey safari is high handed,he should give other members of the panel a chance to ask questions.

The chairman of the committee is going out of contest.
so many unneccessary questions coming from the chairman and his crew, making them feel less credible, cos they are adding sentiments to it..
Does people from SEC have their own appointment letter and offers
also their duties, ethics and policy is extremely different.
They have their own provision of service
I think the chairman would be better coming into this world as a woman...

my opinion on this issue is that virtually all sectors in this country are corrupt. Rather than exposing them everyday and nothing happen afterwards let us identify one sector that is not corrupt and check out what they do differently encourage others to do so or force them to do same and if that is not possible let us call off the nation Nigeia.

Corruption should not be used as an excuse for inefficiency.
Re: House Of Reps Public Hearing On Capital Market - Live by bissalla: 3:14pm On Mar 15, 2012
This is nothing but pure witch hunting. I stand to be corrected.
Re: House Of Reps Public Hearing On Capital Market - Live by fesse(f): 3:25pm On Mar 15, 2012
@bissalla,

It is not witch-hunting. The fact is that Hon. Herman Henbe or what is taking it as if it is a personal business. But from the information gathered and the look of things, Ms Aruma Oteh is too corrupt and she is not seeing her actions as illegal and corrupt.

Why on earth can a DG has four official cars. 8 months in a hotel, 85,000 feeding per day, 62million naira for 2yrs accommodation in maitama. pls those of in abuja knows that the city is expensive but not to her quotations.

Ms Aruma Oteh has no respect may be because she is single or claimed to have achieved much. Kindly take a good look at other DGs and commissioners from the NSE. She is corrupt, point blank.
Re: House Of Reps Public Hearing On Capital Market - Live by deeplo(m): 4:03pm On Mar 15, 2012
This woman is actually saying rubbish. She's been asked a simple question but rather for her to reply in a simple and straight manner, she took it as a witch-hunting. Don't forget that other Directors were asked the same question and no dust was raised, why is it that she only think someone is after her.
For instance.. she said there is no proper structure on ground for employing any staff meanwhile she mentioned that she is planning to do something about it and the legal dept. has written a memo about it since last year June and the madam is saying she is working on it. When she was asked why action has not been done on the memo .. she term it as witch-hunting.. can u beat that ?

Also, she is too arrogant based on what she believed to have achieved and has no regard for the rule of law. The commissioner for the SEC should be sacked because he does not know his schedule of work. Despite the law of procurement act, he still give go ahead to the DG to stay beyond 56 (1st 28days and another 28days)in hotel at the expense of the investors and Nigeria populace.
Am tired of these kind of people jare
Re: House Of Reps Public Hearing On Capital Market - Live by teddy2011: 5:16pm On Mar 15, 2012
The woman feels she is in control and the reps has no moral right to question her.
No wonder she is single.smiley i know some men wont tolerate that attitude from her.
NONSENSE!

The reps who are corrupt officials themselves have no moral justification to interrogate her. Though she was rebellious at some times, the committee especially the chairman wouldn't even give her the chance to answer queries.

PS: she didn't tell you anyone that she needed a husband so trash the issue on ground and steer clear of her private life.

@fesse

What kind of question are you asking? 4cars, 8months in hotel, bla bla bla. All these are what the office of a DG is entitled to. Did you here her read out the benefits and entitlement attached to the office of the DG SEC to those hyenas? Did you hear them talk again Did you hear her read out loudly her qualification to those un-educated morons chewing kola nut and bitter cola as id their life depended on it?

The Presidency is entittled to 8b niara worth of food a day not GEJ, please get this right....so what is she eats, is she not a Nigerian....
Re: House Of Reps Public Hearing On Capital Market - Live by jege456: 9:04pm On Mar 15, 2012
It may actually be true that SECOND may have not been doing things the way they ought to but the way the committee is conducting itself, especially its chairman, gives the impression that its mind is made up on the guilt of the DG. They just read the various presentations made to them and believed everything and now refuse to give Ms Otteh the chance to tell her own side thereby denying her the right to fair hearing which is a fundamental principle of natural justice. I must, however, concede that the DG herself has somehow contributed to how she's been treated- wanting to respond to every single matter that comes up. On the whole, somebody should rein in the committee chairman to apply some caution, self control and respect for other pple's view.

NAIRALANDERS PLS BE GUIDED!

1. The access bank staff are on secondmment to SEC, they are not on SEC payroll but access bank payroll, confirm your facts. The secondment is just to bring expertise to the org where needed.
2. Her employment letter states that she is entitled to four official cars, she read it out to the house and nobody faulted or deny that fact.@fesse please be guided
3. She was staying in a hotel when the commission could not provide her with accommodation when she resumed.
4. Nobody paid for any rent for the DG, she requested that the commission pay for her rent IN LIEU of her housing allowances as stated in her offer letter, but the idea was dropped because of conflict with the monetization directive by the FG. Please note that the rent has not been paid. They are only quoting the price of the rent which is N62m for 2yrs. Nobody ever say the money has been paid, evidence of payment should be provided
People should get thaere fact right b4 commenting on issues so that those reading would be rightly guided.

@ soladisc, when people start to stammer and use distracting lines like I'm bn witch hunted, this is like a kangaroo court, et al in front of less educated and uncouth members of a panel , you can tell Madam DG has something to hide

She has goofed with regards to transparency and is now using staff member incompetence under pretense to cover up her tracks. with all d reputable work experience she has, can she tell us that is how the behave there in African Development Bank..ehhn?. Yes she is qualified for the job no doubt, but on this note she has put her fingers in the cookie jar and caught out right. shame it's by the same useless NASS members who are guilty of the same crime as well.
Make she go siddon somewia jareh instead of quoting African Bank 10 Billion dollars funs, I managed , Harvard MBA and co. we dont want to hear all that.

Every little thing they ask her, I have not done that yet, I'm still trying to get the right staff after how many years. What does her job specification say in terms of delivery, does it say u have 5 years to deliver or it says you have to deliver. So by the time she finishes her tenure she will list them all as "Work in progress" yet she is collecting the benefits and props for the job
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. this people have no regard for peoples money one bit.

Thats the problem with us we think once someone shows up from World Bank, ADB , Goldman Sachs , Harvard or Stanford Uni MBA or 1st degree they are above the law. No they are not. [color=#000099][quote]
