In order to urb Imo State off crime activities and unwholesome practices, the Imo state Government have anounced that any person with useful information that will lead to recovery of ilegal arms in the state will be rewarded as follows:
AK47 - 50,000.00
Riffle - 20,000.00
and that every information will be treated with utmost confidence and informants Identity will not be revealed for his/her safety.

if that is true then thats a good idea. The more it shows our northern leaders are the brains behind boko haram. If a southern leader can easily think of this then its a shame to the north. Just imagine what only N20,000 would do to an almajiri up north. And tje level of peace restored.

Since the Nigerian police force is thoroughly infiltrated by underworld moles and informants, it will be interesting to see how many people actually try to report a gun owner to the police, knowing that the police response to that report will depend on the highest cash bidder, rather than on any notion of justice or law-enforcement.

A few more categories of rewards must be offered for information volunteered to the police that leads to the arrest of the following usual suspects.

1. Juju-Voodoo Talismans and Magic Rings should be worth 50 thousand naira to tipsters who turn in those suspected of trying to invoke ancestral spirits, demons or lightning bolts.

2. Machetes, clubs and daggers - Establish a 15 thousand naira Nigerian police reward for helping get farmers and those dreaded cattle herders arrested.

3. Curses, Hexes and Jinxes - Good Samaritans should earn 20 thousand naira for reporting all persons over-heard uttering targeted curses against their enemies

4. Bad Intentions and Thoughts - Five thousand naira cash should be paid out in Nigerian police stations to all who come in to report those suspected of harboring hostile or diabolical plans.

5. Smut - Tittzs and asz lead to violence and lust. Turn in pornographers and their viewership so as to earn 2 thousand naira at any Nigerina police station.

I think they should just reward people to register and inventory the guns they own legal or not, gun ownership is paramount to people power and democracy. The government thinks twice before openning fire on an armed civilian populace. Its also good to stay armed if shit hits the fan with boko haram kidnappers or traditional fulani terrorists. I can see the advantages this will have in curbing armed robbery, kidnap, voter intimidation, gangsterism, and barbaric rural clashes. Kudos to rochas, a man of ideas is a man of promise, but I would have taken another approach. I suppose that's where we differ ideologically but I can see his approach working well.

This is one of the reasons Ndigbo seem to board last in Nigeria. Reasonable people in other parts of the cesspit called Nigeria are exploring the loopholes in the country in order to arm their people while the overfed morons in Imo State’s corridor of power are busy thinking about means to disarm the citizens.
