Promote swimming?

Swimming is already a usual practice for those dwelling in the riverine areas especially the Ijaws unless the aim here is to create cleaner swimming areas. However I'd rather the fund spent on cleaning the polluted rivers.

Swimming for recreation is not the same as for sports. Nigeria should be hauling medals with the natural abilities in the area, but there is nothing to harness it.

How about using the funds to build sustainable industries and agricultural projects where the indigenes can be gainfully employed and reasonable revenue can be derived from these projects?

Where? in front of a kidnappers den or close to looting NDDC officials.
Way out of relevance.
Stop stealing & get Naija developed.

Erratic, impulsive events can never culminate in significant development.

Any move taken by govt. will be criticized and condemned by majority of us. Building swimming pools is a good move but it should not be in Niger-Delta alone. We have raw talents that need to be explored. In the near future, this investment will be bringing return/benefits to 9ja. Investment is not limited only to oil, agriculture or almajiri education. Let support them for God's sake.

Educated Nigerians who can turn this nation around are working in banks, engineering establishments etc. But the touts (Agberos) are the once in government that's why you are hearing stories like this.
