Goodevening guys, you are welcome to THE TALK SHOW with Endy Edeson. Tonight, we shall be discussing about the forthcoming Mass Marriage in Kano State. The Kano State govt is sponsoring a match-making scheme where Single, divorced and widowed women can sign up to find husbands. Over 1000 women in Ka...no have joined the scheme and more than twice that amount have applied. After the couple pick each other, they will be allowed to date for few weeks after which they will tell the Scheme Organisers if they want to marry each other or not. If they agree, then their names will be included in a Mass Wedding that will be held by the end of April, 2012. Meanwhile, Kano State has earmarked N2 million naira for the first batch of 100 divorces and widows to be given out in the planned Mass Marriage. The govt plans to marry off 1,000 widows and divorcees. The Mass Marriage is part of efforts by the govt to curtail prostitution and other immoral acts among widows in the State. But get this, after the marriage, if the man or woman wants to divorce, the state govt will fine him or her N1.5 million naira. I guess it is an Everlasting Marriage for One to pay N1.5 million naira for leaving a marriage especially if the person is poor.
