Abeg, no kill me with laugh.. I wan sleep.

In UEFA competitions at all levels there are usually no way to distinguish 3rd from 4th, but we call all know those who made final 4 and those who finished wayy below like Chelsea

Which kain reasoning be this sef? When Atletico got to the finals were they higher than Bayern or Barca in the UEFA ranking, when Porto won in 2004, were they higher than Madrid in UEFA ranking

Based on the finishing positions in that season last year Chelsea finished higher than Barcelona.

WHen teams make the semis, they are called the final FOUR. This is basic logic not rocket science chairman

When teams make the Semi-Final in Europe they are called Final FOUR and not TOP 4..! Good.. You are learning..

If 3rd and 4th were really important, A 3rd place match would have been introduced.

Still You were knocked Out over 2 legs like Basel.

Do we need to question Diego Costa yet? No signs of indiscipline all the while he was injured. He returns and everything blows up.

I cannot keep cool knowing he is playing. He is almost always one second away from getting sent off and for sure he is going to start/be involved in a fight. Is it time to sign another top class striker?

With all his wahala, He has not received any Red card this season.. cheesy

Fabregas was just stupīd and he was playful. Its not his Fault, Fabregas got sent off.

Me guess more Matic than Mikel. I agree with Ibime, he really came out after the red card. He got on the ball more frequently, started attacks and made more creative passes than the first half.

He had 93% pass completion rate. Yes a lot of the passes were sideways but I like a 19-year old who is cautious. You can tell his has got it. He just needs to work hard.

In a club like Chelsea with a history of not playing young players, I do not expect RLC to come in and go guns blazing. He is more likely to be cautious than inventive. It's like playing "set" with older boys when you were young, you try not to be the guy who lost "the set" with fancy tricks. So you did everything cautiously until you firmly claim a place.

That said, you are not entirely wrong yourself. RLC needs to improve on his willingness to defend, press and chase down the opposition.

Mikel almost always has high pass percentage...mainly for playing 'e no spoil for my hand' passes.

Mikel also lacks that 'willingness to defend, press and chase down the opposition' as you put it.

To be perfectly honest, I did not see a difference between his game and Mikel's last night.

I remember the 'passenger' jibes often thrown Mikel's way with regards to escorting the goal scorer....but watch the highlights of the first goal, and you will see that Berahino actually ran past RLC on his way to netting.

Chris Brunt and James Morrison kept running past him on the way to goal too. I didn't want to say too much then, cos I'm trying to avoid a situation where I appear to be deliberately opposing a fellow poster here, as opposed to just making an observation.

His improvement after the card should be put in context too. It's not really difficult to improve on his initial showing, because IMO, he had offered nothing in the opening stages anyway.

Ultimately I agree about him being careful and cautious, but because I don't bother to watch reserve games, I don't what else he has in his locker and thus what else to look forward to...but if his game is about cautious and careful, then I'm not sure why we are hyping a Mikel 2.0

Let's see how he develops sha. This summer should give the opportunity to train fulltime as a first team squaddie and hopfully boost his confidence

Prior to his signing, you and I did question his volatile and prickly nature and how he gets to settle in England.

Seems it's taking ages for that acclimitisation to happen.

We don't need another top forward, we only need a good forward whose mobility can see him work the channels, who has a sharp eye for goal, great positioning and of course who would be willing to deputize for Costa.

We shouldn't allow Costa's incessant on-field altercations to change our view of the striker he is. I mean this is a guy who has notched up roughly 50 goals in the last two years. Robbie Savage did assert that he's the missing piece in the jigsaw for us and I do concur.

We only need to find a way to enhance his discipline while retaining his determination.

I rather have a volatile Costa who would improve my team's poor rate of shot-to-goal conversion than having a well-meaning, gullible, calm and reticent ''Torres'' who's gonna send me over to the Europa League cheesy

He is either slow or lacking fitness, cos he couldn't catch some players who ran past him.

Usually when you see a tall black boy, you assume he would be fast.

I will say he has slightly above average pace, but he coulda caught those runs if he was fitter.

Fitness has been a concern with RLC as MOurinho keeps saying all season.

Actually we need to re-evaluate his pecking order. You assume everyone with his physique is more able to play with men, but I think Nathan Ake is more physically advanced.

That said, he cannot be as slow as Mikel. Taaaaah! Never!

Naaah! Don't take it that far. No one's saying Costa is rubbish. At least not anyone in their right mind. When he is scoring, he is one of the best around. He works hard and puts in a shift always.

His volatile nature just gets me on the edge and I was hoping to get the view of others. I for one cannot watch a single game without thinking this is the game he will get sent off. He gets me really nervous.

What happened yesterday was not entirely costa's fault, the ref wasted time in addressing the issue. Please look at that incident again .

No one loves the sight of our focal point getting engaged in brawls every now and then. There are many ways we can be of help to him in that regard, bringing in another top forward shouldn't really be on the list, that's my point.

We can hire a personal female psychologist for the dude, someone who can help him work on his temperament and spend the nite over at his place every weekend, or alternatively fly him to Nigeria, I know of one Baba Tunde who casts out thorny demons in Ile-Ife.

There are competitions that are unhealthy, and having two 'top forwards' vying for one position is one of them.

I don't know the amount of rotation that would keep both men happy, but the chances of either men getting discontented about not playing every week is damn big.

Costa is yet to get the marching orders this season, so able chairman calm down eactime you're seeing our game the dude is involved in. To ease off the tension, gulping down a chilled Heineken during our games would certainly help.

He is not slow. I don't think he is that unfit either. I believe he is actually lazy. This is why I keep mentioning "working hard" in all my references to him. I have seen him tens of times in youth football. He is a beast going forward but always very unwilling to track back. I believe he can cover just about as much ground as Ake in the same time. Ake just has a desire unmatched by any other youngster now.

@Nihilist

One will not necessarily disagree with most of your observations. They are well founded and I have seen them over the years. I said more Matic than Mikel because Mikel is actually slow - tracking back and in forward play.

RLC isn't slow in his execution. Therefore his sideways passes should mostly be seen as cautious play. If he can work on his mental attitude to the game, then he has in his locker all he needs to become a top midfielder. Hopefully his over £1m a year salary doesn't get inthe way of his desire.

Yes. Last year when Atletico made it to the finals, Chelsea made it to semi and Barca got eliminated in quarters, Based on last yr alone Atletico and Chelsea finished better than Barcelona

SMH seriously for you man!

So you are comparing World Cup to Champions League?

Okay, going by your comparison Netherlands met and won Brazil 3-0 in last WC third place match. So please when is Bayern Munich playing Real Madrid?

I don't want to miss that match for anything.

I won't like to witness cech doing to us the same thing courtious did to us against athletico last season. I'd prefer he move to PSG.

Man that was the nite my madness came alive. Nateevs lost his voice that day too cheesy

The moment Neuer handed DD the ball and the Ivorian walked towards the penalty-spot, our house which had been raving with noise went cold. You could hear the phucking heart-beat of the man sitting next to you, it was a nerve jangling moment.

I opened the door, slipped off my shoes, then told my bro that I'm running bare-footed down to the nearest pub if DD buried it, he thought it a weird great idea and joined in the wait.

Tick tock tick tock. . .GOAL!!!!!!!! Chelsea are the champions of Europe hollered the commentator!

Don't toy with me, I'm a man of my words, I scampered off to the nearest pub on bare-foot only to find and join a sea of Chelsea fans who were already drunk in celebrations!

My bro and I sneaked back into the house around 3am grin grin grin

It was a victory built on resilience, discipline, defensive organisation, and nerve at the crucial times and done without the suspended JT, Ivanovic, Ramires and Meireles.

It was a night Bayern were the chief architect of their own woes and the night we ruled Europe!

We shall see again. #Sweet_memory

A little CSI job for you folks.

Cesc Fabregas got sent off for firing ball at West Brom's Chris Brunt's head at 8.28pm... and the Chelsea midfielder lands in France with his family at 10.49am!

As an investigator, what would you make of this?

Well the opportunity didn't present itsef on a normal circumstance.

Cesc deliberately hit the ball at Brunt during the moment of altercations.

In strict legal analysis, Cesc breached a duty of care which happens to be a key element in the tort of negligence. He failed to exercise the care expected of a reasonably prudent person. He's already guilty of a crime.

So his action shouldn't be excused here.

He wanted to be in France, so he deliberately committed an on-field crime.

Thank you Inspector lacer.

My calculations of the wind velocity, top spin applied to the ball, and the trajectory of the ball indicate that Fab fully intended to deliver an Igbati by ball.

I'm sure Chris Brunt's head was ringing like he had a sim card in his brain.

Such Accuracy. No wonder he's the assist king. Serves it to you how you want it on a plate, or in Chris's case...in your face.

Thank you Inspector Nihilist.

We really have to consider the mental state Cesc was while committing the crime that led to him getting an early bath.

It was an intentional act which in every jurisdiction will be established as mens rea - the guilty mind.

He knew what he was doing, he had France on mind and he was looking for a way out of the pitch.
