WHAT DO NGWA PEOPLE WANT FROM T.A. ORJI?

At the expiration of forty – eight hours ultimatum given to Ngwa people to dismantle and stop forthwith their aggregated and accumulated attacks on the person of the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Chief T.A. Orji, and upon which they did not comply, we state unequivocally that the battle line is drawn.

We shall say the truth and nothing but the truth with the singular objective of proofing in more concrete terms why Ngwa people do not deserve the confidence of others especially the Old Bende people.

We are worried that despite all attempts to assuage this generation of greedy and selfish people, they constantly perfect the art of abusing, maligning and harassing the Governor, a benevolent Old Bende son, the same man who had done for Ndi Ngwa what no other Governor or Administrator had done for them.

Repeatedly, we had insisted that the average Ngwa man is shylock, comprehensively insatiable and a pathological cheat. If you are tempted to wonder why, here are pointers:

1. There are Seventeen Local Governments in Abia State. Ngwa alone has nine commissioners with choice portfolios. Example: Commissioners for Works, Information, Environment, Petroleum, Urban Development, Health; Lands, Agriculture and Sports. This is not forgetting that an Ngwa man is the State’s Accountant General. Is it not then clear that Abia State is by extension run by Ngwa people? This is the easiest way to empower a people and make them participant observers in the affairs of a State. During the last dispensation, they had just four. How come the man who has given them more opportunities is at the centre of community assault? Answer: Ngwa people have the character of biting the finger that feeds them. By nature, they are not a very grateful people, otherwise they ought to urge their sons in government to contribute in developing rather than retarding the growth of the state

2. At the inception of the T.A. Administration, the idea of establishing a Recycling plant to stem the tide of environmental degradation was conceived. The Governor did not think of any other place to site the project other than Akpa Mbato in Obingwa Local Government. Forty acres of land were acquired and compensation paid in full to land owners. Government mobilized Phoenix Services to commence work on the project. No sooner than they had mobilized to site, that our Ngwa brothers moved in and vandalized all equipment designated for use in the project. To make matters worse, the Phoenix Expatriate staff who was in charge of the Plant was NGWAISHLY kidnapped. Greed, avarice and sabotage of Ngwa people combined to rob them, Abia peopla and thus government of the collective gain of having a Recycling plant. Reason? The Ngwa man unfortunately steals from himself too. It is in their character to do so.

3. Recall that before the coming of T.A. Orji, prominent Ngwa son Chief Adaelu and the pretender to Ngwa origin Reagan Ufomba were all on the run. Reagan did not only return, he had had a shot at the governorship elections in Abia. Today Solomon Adaelu is a Commissioner as a further proof that his father is now more relaxed and at home. Ngwa people still feel alienated and cheated. Reason? Unless you give them your pound of flesh, they would not let you go.

4. A lot of us were stampeded out of Abia at the wake of those horrendous and cannibalistic days of kidnapping. The ulterior motive of Ngwa people was to re – enact the dark days of abandoned properties. That was why they killed, maimed and swiftly moved to dismember ‘umu ohuhu’ (a derogatory term for residents, including unfortunately; Ukwa people in Ngwa who are non Ngwa). Who quashed that grand plan? T.A Orji – a generous Old Bende Son, a father who saw the civil war and knows the devastating effects of ‘abandoned properties’ T.A.through the grace of God nipped that evil plan in the bud. Now they are positioning to become Governor in 2015 so that they would excommunicate ‘umu ohuhu’ and in rare display of their character of greed take over our hard earned properties.

5. Ngwa people will any day vote for a destabilized Abia because they do not have anything to lose. The tallest building in Faulks Road belongs to Nwa Ohuhu. The most prominent trader in Ariaria is not an Ngwa son. No single Ngwa man can boast of a one star hotel in Aba or elsewhere in Abia State. There are notable transport companies owned by Abians, none belongs to an Ngwa man.The most flourishing business in Aba or elsewhere in Abia does not belong to an Ngwa man. Reason? They have been busy castigating others, marauding the streets and looking for who to cheat. Today, they are willing tools in the hands of controversy, disunity and anarchy.

6. If their problem is an Old Bende son being Governor, how come they have not asked for the head of their children at the Federal level. Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the custodian of meetings of disintegration, the author of confusion and senator representing Abia senatorial district (comprising UKWA NGWA people) is an Ngwa man. Let Ngwa people mention one single Federal government presence attracted by this good for nothing Ngwa man. This is his five years as a Senator and for those five years Enugu – PH express road, the only Federal government road that links his district has been in a state of embarrassing disrepair. When T.A. Orji refurbished failed portions of the same road within the Aba metropolis, which people called him names? Ngwa people. Meanwhile, their favorite son Abaribe has done nothing to better the lot of his people within his limits as a federal lawmaker. Daily, Abians gnash their teeth as they struggly to wriggle out of the death traps scattered everywhere within the Enugu – PH express road. The same Abaribe maintained his constituency office at ROWMAY HOTELS OGBOR HILL and paid just one staff for more than four years. What manner of a person is that? It is because he is NGWA and the Ngwa man is stingy to his marrows and has the character of celebrating the peck in another man’s eyes while he is host to a log.

7. What of UZOR AZUBUIKE? The best he has done is to ensure that his former houseboy is made the Chairman of a Local Government in a metropolitan city where NDI NGWA have little or no stake. The same UZOR AZUBUIKE sits idly by while Abia suffers as the state in the South East with the least Federal presence. He is done so long as his men have been settled. Is this the character of a man who wants to lead us out of the woods? The same UZor labeled our son as deaf and dumb while he represented Aba North and South as a Federal lawmaker. Now that the loquacious AZUBUIKE is in the driver’s seat, what impact has he made in the lives of the people he has been representing? Or has he also not been trapped at anytime within UMUIKAA or the shame around ARO NGWA all within the coverage of Enugu – PH express way. What single thing has UZOR AZUBUIKE done for Abians nay Aba North and South constituency apart from cunningly and selfishly ensuring that his boys call the shots at two local governments?

Other than greed and petty jealousy, NGWA PEOPLE have no business castigating T.A Orji. Though NGWA MAN is unapologetically and unreasonably stupid, he ought to also know that T.A Orji is the best that had ever happened to them. We are not interested in any form of their faraternity and ask them to wait as we pour venoms on their already diseased bodies.

From this distance where we write from, we urge all of us who think and act reasonably to ignore the next NGWA MAN. He is not worth it.
