FORMER Head of State and Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the 2011 general elections, General Muhammadu Buhari has said that revolution is inevitable in 2015, unless there is social justice to all and sundry.

Expatiating on his prediction, Buhari said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) "does not believe and accept social justice, and that the revolution could come in one form or the other."

He expressed the hope that "the PDP will be strong enough to go through the consequences of their injustice." He dropped the bombshell in Kaduna when he featured as a special guest of honour at the empowerment programme of a CPC member, representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Usman Bawa Garba.

Speaking at the occasion, he said, “we know that we have been rigged out in last elections; nothing can happen unless there is justice, the question of the PDP and its leadership, they don't accept social justice. If there is no social justice, in a question of time there will be revolution in one form or the other.

“After the last general election, we went as far as to the Supreme Court, but after that, what happened in Kogi state, Adamawa and Sokoto states and the bye-elections, we believe that PDP leadership is not prepared for real democracy and social justice. And I hope they will be strong enough to go through the consequences of their injustice.

“I want to speak of what happened in Igabi constituency, members of CPC in Kaduna state, the elected members of CPC in the Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly were all there to educate people in Igabi and made sure that there was free and fair election and the CPC won.

“What am advocating is this, for the local government election and 2015 general elections Gods willing, every local government and constituency must behave like Igabi, if you don't want to win or you want to remain as slaves in your own country, then you can go home and sleep, otherwise if you must fight for your rights, you must wake up and ensure that justice is done. You must make sure that your votes count”.

Buhari, who frowned at the rate of corruption in Nigeria, cited example of revelations of corrupt officers in the ongoing hearing of pension funds and the oil sector where people steal money indiscriminately.

“To prove to you that there is not going to be justice under PDP and its leaders, look at what happened in the hearing on petroleum resources in the national assembly and the pension fund, people were dying for lack of payment of their entitlements while others are syndicates of thieves, with people stealing and keeping money in their houses up to the tune of 2billion naira”.

He warned: “By 2015, whoever steals public funds has automatically sentenced himself to death, what I said before, I still stand by it, ensure that you are there when election materials are distributed, protect the materials, escort the materials and prevent every form of rigging, if you want justice politically, come 2015, otherwise the situation we are in will continue to deteriorate.

“May God give you patient in the hardship that you have been subjected to, becuase the money that is expected to be used to educate your children, build roads, hospitals and provide the required security is been stolen abroad. Nigerians must rise against this attitude; it is your right,” he said.

Meanwhile, Honourable Bawa as part of efforts to empower people of his constituency, donated 12 cars, 66 motorcycles,30 generators, 45 grinding machine,60 talia machine,, 40 sewing machine,35 knitting machine, 30 pumping machine, and 121 assorted chemicals for producing detergents, perfumes, creams etc to selected party faithfuls and executives

Many want radical change, but they don't want a radical leader. They prefer continuity. E go hard o.

Looters can't prosecute themselves. Entrenched systems rarely change in the absence of cataclysmic events.

Gradualism won't bring about the change we need, at least not in this generation. Probably never. Ask MLK.

The thing, e go hard.

This man needs to sing a less embaraasing tune. All the underage voters in the north, were they all voting for PDP? How can he be sure only PDP rigged, or is the election only considered fair in areas CPC won? He should please stop, Nigeria generally got the leader they voted for, whether it was the choice the country needed is a different matter altogether. You can't force the whole country to like you.

Sky Blue: You can't force the whole country to like you.

Why not? Most of these people long for the strictest dictatorship, to get what they cannot get by democratic means. Listen to the desire behind the rubish they spout.

What PDP has done to Nigerians is inhuman. Especially the killing of youth corpers just in a bid to discredit the post election violence. The truth shall one day be known and those behind it brought to justice.

While Gen. Buhari may be right on the issue of PDP being unaware of the term social justice there are two problems.

1. The General's definition of social justice is likely to be just as wrong as PDP's lack of knowledge of the term.
2. The General himself was once part and parcel, as well as a perpetrator, of social injustice.

Having said that Nigerians should take Gen. Buhari's advice and wake up from being complete fools at the hand of PDP.

The only solution to the PDP quagmire is citizenry involvement in governance and a viable alternative. At the end of the day the election process comes down to choice. The choice between a gunshot and a rusty knife don't make either an ideal.
