The June 1st Electricity Hike by ambrosini593(m): 1:20pm On May 11, 2012
All state governors in the country yesterday, backed the June 1 date for the increase in electricity across the country. They said this was necessary to stop the migration of manufactures to other countries on account of poor supply in Nigeria due to low pricing. According to Thisday live, the agreement in the tariff was announced after the National Economic. Meeting presided over by Vice-President Namadi Sambo, where they also assured Nigerians that between now and the take off date for the Multi Year Tariff Structure (MYTO). Enough mobilisation of Nigerians would have been done on the issues. It was also revealed that N50 billion has been provided for the two years to cover subsidy for poor urban and rural dwellers and while within 12 to 16 months of the coming into effect of the tariff, free meters would be provided for every household well standardised instead of using offhand billing method. According to the council if the power issue is gotten right, Nigerians will pay less than 20 percent of what they pay today generating their own power. Mobilsation, subsidy... These Vocab sound very familar, don't you think? God help Nigerians o ! May we not break under all these: Bills are going up, salaries are not being reviewed what should we expect next?
