Nigeria is currently in it's 3rd and so far it's most continuous foray into the democratic process.
Twice in her history, the democratic process had been derailed by 2 Military Junta playing the same card of saving the nation from the throes of destruction and corruption.

One of these interventions led to a civil war, which most of us now have varying perspectives of viewing.
The second was led by Gen. Buhari which saw the country through it's darkest moments climaxing with the reign of the late dictator, Gen. Abacha.

Today, General Buhari is again threatening the democratic process and singing the same rhetoric.

The same Gen. Buhari who refuses to step "aside" for another prospective candidate within his own party after losing severally.
The same Buahari who during his early days as Head of State when asked about his plan to a return to democracy replied to effect that he (Buhari) did not believe in the democratic process being applicable to the Nigerian scenario.

The same Buhari who on the eve of the last elections alongside other elements decreed that the country will sink into anarchy if the results did not favour his return as president-elect. The outcome of such is the post-election violence that plagued some northern cities.
Now the same Buhari is beating the drums of war again, 3yrs ahead of the 2015 election.
The country and democratic process seems to be again at the mercy of Buhari.

Only God knows what era his utterances and actions will lead us into.
