Lagos State House Of Assembly Proposed 'Sunset Clause': Can It Work? by Nobody: 11:24am On May 25, 2012
Honorable Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu (Eti-Osa II) recently advised the Lagos State House of Assembly in a debate i was opportuned to attend sitting in the public gallery, the need for the House to pass into Law a bill to be named 'Sunset Clause'which if passed will be incuded in all Laws that the house passes to estabish agencies like Lastma,KAI e.t.c.This law will give a wind up date for all agencies e.g 10year lifetime. This will enable the Lagos State Lawmakers to assess and ascertain if the agency's services is still relevant to public service. The ultimate goal of this is to plug waste of public funds and to further improve the services if need be or wind down the services of such agencies which is no longer useful.
I personally think this is a good idea but am concerned about the staffs of such agencies, will they be reabsorbed back to other relevant agencies or not.??opinions please.
