Have you tried doing a search on Greenish poo? Because it has been discussed a lot, even with pictures. There is enough info if you take a look. As for diapers I don't know, I use cloth diapers and I have tried Molfix and Huggies and they seem fine. Perhaps try a pack of imported Huggies? Dunno any other Naija diapers.

You will never believe what happened to me today. I still can't get over it. I went to the supermarket to pick something to eat before an event. As I was walking down the aisle, I noticed this woman starring at me. I looked at her and kept walking to the front counter
to pick bottled water and gala.

As I picked them and turned, I found the same
woman right behind me! I tried to show her some
love, so I smiled & said "hi". Then I went on to get a canned coke. Can u believe the same woman followed me? I was getting a little bit
nervous and mad because she was following me without saying a thing.

But I tried to stay friendly, I just said "hi" again. She finally responded and said, "I am sorry for starring but you look just like my youngest daughter . We just buried her
two weeks ago" I felt silly for getting mad as I expressed my sympathy to her.

She said she was fine as she
knows that her Child is with the Lord. She then asked me to do her a favour which I obliged. She said "I'm a bit sad that my child never said goodbye to me before
passing on". She asked me to get in line behind her so when she's leaving the store, I should say "goodbye mum" so she could have some sense of closure. Though
her request was weird, I however agreed to grant it. So as she collected her bags from the cashier and walked away, I said "bye mum". She turned and said "bye dear".

When d cashier calculated my stuff, she said d total was N18,750. I said what!!!
Can u tell me how a N70 bottled water, N50 gala and N100 canned coke equals N18,750? She said "your mum said you are paying for hers too". My mum? I shouted. That woman is not my mother ooo!!!. I quickly rushed out just in time to see the woman approaching the parking lot. I ran after her and was screaming..."ex cuse me, excuse me!!!".

She started running. I caught
up with her just before she was able to close the door of her car. I kept on pulling and pulling her leg, just like I am pulling yours now! You too like gist self. See as u serious dey read.

@xeexee1, I am currently using Molfix for my babies. I noticed when I was using vaseline as nappy cream they were having rashes on and off. But since I stopped using anything on their bum, just the diaper alone , they have been rash free for close to 2 months now. So you can vary the molfix again , but without nappy cream this time.

Hey I'm just see ;Ding this. I'm slightly pissed (because this is what happens when someone sells you product without knowledge themselves).

I don't know what insert that is, but those snap in inserts will shift. I use Microfibre inserts but I didn't have compression leaks but the8y do have their issues. And a lot os us mummies tend to keep them for certain times. Nighttime diapering means piling on the inserts (one of our mummies uses a microfibre insert in a hemp prefold and it works for her heavy wetting son). so get max absorbency. Watery poo shouldn't stop you from using cloth diapers, infact I was grateful to have my cloth diapers then as they are designed better than the regular ones sold here and kept all the poop in the diaper.

So I spoke to our company and they are all cloth diapering mommies and really wanna encourage you. Would you like a free sample of one of our cloth diapers? I'm planning a thread to put everyone through it, so you can just read up when I explain.

Thank u ma'am.i am still interested in cloth diapering even dou this was disheartening especially the wet bed issue.
I jus checked d packet.it says d inserts r microfiber.maybe thats why i had compression leaks.
Maybe i will just use them during d day.
Meanwhile everybody has refused to help me change my baby with our cloth diaper.hehehehehe.only mil and i.
They r like poo everywhere.the liner sticks with the poo to her body and dy r jus like ayama ayama cheesy grin cheesy

Thanks again.please i will like a free sample of ur cloth diaper and tutorials too.
Please cc me when u create a thread

When we started, everyone was like that. When they saw how well it worked, even my Ajebutter sister said she would try it. Himself is grateful that we haven't bought disposable wipes since February, my mum that is the Queen of Complaints and all her friends told me they could not believe I had "this much sense", at our hospital all the matrons and nurses begged me to start selling.
Poo everywhere in the diaper is normal, because it is soft explosive poo. I remember the day we used disposable and they found poo in the leg of LO's pajamas. Clothe diapers hold explosive poo better. Use microfiber inserts during the day.

An average cloth diaper can hold 4-5 hours before changing, you are supposed to change any type of diaper frequently so that baby's bum is not trapped with urine and poo in a no-air environment constantly. That's why cloth diapered babies don't get diaper rashes and my dermatologist and Paediatricians like them, they get changed more often than disposies and it's breathable materials. Abi it was here I read someone say her friend left her baby in Huggies for 12 hours and a lot of mums use 3 disposies diapers per day, that's why they need Sudocrem daily na. We use homemade organic diaper cream, chemical-free, no issues. We use our zinc oxide diaper cream on heat rashes or when we get friction rash from tight disposies or that horrid time we used Pampers. Tube has not finished since birth till now.

Pls what do u use for ur diaper cream.we r always rubbing bells castor oil n zinc oxide o. Recently we found out shea butter dey clear nappy rash like mad.

AlphaHandMaiden:

it is likely an absorbency issue.

a couple of things to consider for night time diapering:

simple pad / snap- in insert style soakers do not work! anyone who sells you that and tells you you can use it at night is not honest with you, and had probably never used it themselves.
To get it to work, the pad has to be so thick that you either make your baby's leg start dangling when they lay on their side or your risk leg elastic not closing around the thighs properly.

pads and snap -ins in my opinion are OK for day time use, but for night time and other long periods i'e long car journeys, they dont have the surface area to give you the absorbancy you need.

The soaker material you use matters a great deal:
if your insert is micro fibre: it can absorb oh! BUT....... it suffers from compression leaks. so if your baby is seating or lying on one side or area on the soaked nappy for any lenght of time, it just gets squeezed out. If your diaper product doesn't say otherwise it is most likely microfibre ( as it is the cheapest of the cloth nappy materials. bamboo and hemp, even 100% cotton give better performance against compression leaks. In my experience hemp works the best against compression leaks.... but it takes a bit longer to dry.

Check the fit: make sure you tuck in all the bits in.... around the legs and back, including the liners. and there are no gaps around the legs that it could leak through. it doesnt have to be tight so as not to be uncomfortable , but you should be able to put a finger between the elastic and her skin to check the tightness. if you struggle to get a finger in...... its too tight. if it is too easy to insert your finger it likely is too loose. ( i guess the thickness of your finger matters though, but you get my drift)

your best bet will be a fitted diaper or a prefold / Flat that you fold ( old school nappy), both of which you may still need to boost to give you night time absorbency.

I personally use a bamboo fitted, with an additional soaker/ booster or two for nights.
or
a prefold with either an additional booster or soaker in either bamboo or hemp. and this will comfortably take us from 9:00pm ish to about 5:00 - 6:00 am. ( it usually is sodding wet when i change in the morning, but i have never had any leaks)

Onegai has mentioned previously a new cloth nappy company opening soon, with more variety of products, and materials. i believe they will have prefolds and inserts/ soakers in bamboo ( and possibly hemp) when they launch, with the aim of extending to fitteds and other products later on. so they are one to watch out for.

modification:

for the poo issue: with a pad or snap in soaker you will get staining on the wrap as well so if she poos you are most likely to change everyting especially if the poo is watery or very soft ( e no get as you wan do am). except the quantity of poo was very small./ you caught it right in time that it hadnt spread!.

fitteds and prefolds/ flats that you fold up will give you better poo containment and you may be able to re-use the wrap.
with fitteds you get the elastic around the legs and back so it tends to hold most poos in except there are gaps in those areas, and for prefolds or flats you need to fold in the back and around the legs to act as your poo catcher.

Thank you ma.i checked my insert it is microfiber.
And it is snap in.i cant double it abi.since no pin for d second layer.
What should i do.
Should i get normal cloth napkin or i shud jus use disposble at night.

Pls don't laugh at my question o I know uv written about cloth diapering severally but is it different from d nappy our mothers used or a modified version of it.

I want to start cloth diapering but I'm confused by some if the terms used here though it has been explained some pages back. Do I just go these women the sell nappies n ask them or r there some dt r packaged already.

During antenatal days one if those women who sell baby things in the hospital was advertising cloth diapers that it whats people r using now but I didn't pay attention now I wish I had.

May I chip in, as to why Vaseline may be causing rashes?
