joesbuba: A Nigerian who is on holiday in South Africa with a valid visa got his passport torn to pieces by a South Africa police out of hatred for Nigerians. What in the world is going on with Nairaland Moderators these past months? Must every post make it to the front page? Most especially very sensitive ones likely to cause National and International unrest? The Passport in question might have been expired or fake for all we care. Journalism is all about findings. The poster should have provided the passport number, visa details, name on passport before such story could be confirmed as being true. We all know the length at which Nigeria could go to travel out of the country through hook or crook means. If the story is true, Let him report to Nigeria high commision/embassy in South Africa and if he has and nothing concrete has been done then he should forward the information to us here. Then and only then will we all rise and ask for the recall of the Higher Commisioner in South Africa. Seun be very careful, yourself and your moderators need to have regular meetings and discussions on how to operate this forum because it appears you all are loosing it by each passing second. Just a harmless advice. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Ileke-IdI: Do you EVER say anything on NL without calling Igbo or Biafra? Like seriouly, do we give you sleepless night? @Topic, well what do you expect? If Nigeria was the GIANT like other African and western continents expected it to be, SA will never try it. When you're an empty barrel, what do you expect? People will kick, spit and laugh, even destroy or even posses that which rightfully belongs to you. A nation without peace but chaos, what do you expect? I went into 7-eleven to go get Slurpee yesterday, and the attendant who rung me up started preaching to me about Boko hara, in from of rush customers, I was caught off guard but because of I was cool with the dude, I did not react and we laughed it off. Expect your leaders not to act, after all, a common "apology" will suffice; at times, I feel like we get what we deserve. 1 Like |

This is so disrespectful! Tearing a country's passport can be an act of war, the SA high commissioner needs to be summoned by the Nigerian President. 5 Likes |

I am vey disaapointed with this atitude if it is true. We dont have govt. By the time national assembly gets to know about this, nothing will be done than to set-up commitee or investigating panel, wc will eventually consume hundreds of millions and some people will be smiling to banks and nothing will be heard of it again except unyeilding treats. If we have shown them pepper during the last deportee fracals, they would have learnt their lessons, even if they see us in any of their airports, they will quickly salute us, but here we find ourselves.
