Captured bomber of UN Building dies of gunshot wounds

A suspected cell leader of the Boko Haram sect, Habeeb Bama, who was arrested on Tuesday in Damaturu, Yobe state by the Joint Task Force (JTF) is reported to have died at an undisclosed hospital.

Habeeb Bama who allegedly masterminded the bombing of the police headquarters in Abuja and the bombing of Saint Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, reportedly died as a result of injuries sustained in a shootout with the joint task force before he was arrested.

A source within the JTF who confirmed Bama’s death to Channels Television, simply said, “he could not make it having lost so much blood in his bid to engage the joint task force in a shootout.”

The late Habeeb Bama, an ex- army Private who was declared wanted by State Security Service (SSS), for his alleged role with Boko Haram, was arrested in a shootout with security operatives on Thursday, sustaining injuries.

Bama was declared wanted by security agents in February, after the Madalla Church bombing following his alleged complicity as revealed by the captured spokesperson of the sect, Abul Qaqa.

I hope this is true. We don't want him to resurface abroad after someone would have aided his escape.
