Why is it that when anyone on Nairaland critices the many flaws of our President GEJ,they are automatically denounced as a hater? In recent months the escalating chaos in the country (Boko Haram, Feul protests, DANA crash, Farouk Lawan, etc) has left many thinking that GEJ is clearly out of his depth. They say he is out of his depth not because these terrible things happened in his term of office, but rather in the ways he has reacted to these situations.
In many nations across the world if a scandal or a disaster of the same magnitude those currently plageuing Nigeria were to occur, you would be assured that their Leaders would cancel any proir engagements they had outside the country or if the were already outside the country they would surely be on the next flight home to tackle the situations. If not to tackle them surely to calm nerves.
Jona has failed in this regard woefully, at a time when his country needed him and still needs him as Head of State, he is globe trotting to useless global circuses to discuss what niethter benefits the country nor glorifies her. And if these meetings do benefit Nigeria why not tell us in what way rather that speaking in a reproachable manner on t.v. about your assets and your right not to disclose them.
That leads on to my next point, how would you defend the lunacy of GEJ's principle of hiding his assets? You are the leader of a country blighted by accountability and transpirancy problems, you claim you want to fix theses issues yet you engage in a practise that would damage the merits of your claim rather than strenghten it. The situation is like a man demanding of his wife a child yet he will not sleep with her .
