Let me use this opportunity to say that in as much as i think everyone has the right to self determination, it will never be possible if the leaders of the region are not in support of it. That's why it can't work. The only reason why that of southern sudan worked is because it's main proponents were the ruling class from that region. So, until the Peter Obis, Sullivan Chimes, Rochas Okorochas, Theodoore Orjis, Obi of Onitsha, Ahagba of Asaba and other top government people from that region support it, it will fail and woefully at that.

I know that this thread is trash, but I bet that if Biafra is allowed to leave, lets say by the UN, and no other country is allowed to be created from Nigeria, many groups will be begging to join the new nation whether the name is Biafra or even Igboland.

BLC MEMBERSHIP:
Only indigenes of the former
Eastern Region and the Ijaw

Significantly, there are two
classes of membership in the BLC
– Individual & Affiliated
memberships.
Individual Membership: Any
person who is of the age of 16
years and above and who
accepts the objectives, policy,
programmes and discipline of
the Liberation Council shall be
eligible for membership provided
that;
He/she does not support the
oppression, colonization,
discrimination, exploitation
and marginalization against
our people.
He/she does not belong to any
organization whose policy is
in contrast with that of the
Liberation Council.
He/she does not have any
criminal record.
Note: Unless on personal
recognition, membership must
pass through an existing
Liberation Group, before the
granting of Citizenship Form and
ID card issued by the Liberation
Council.
All applications must pass
through a dully-prescribed
format, which will be completed
by the applicant and returned
through his/her group.
Active Members: Members fully
involved in active participation of
the Council’s programmes and
also are up to date in their
financial obligation.
Non-active Members: These are
members making financial, moral
and other supportive
contribution to the Council.
Dormant Members: Any person
who enrolled into the BLC but
choose top remain dormant will
be treated as a straggler. Such
stragglers will be denied any
right due to the members of the
Biafra Liberation Council (BLC).
Any Unit Supervisor, County
Administrator or Provincial
Chairman who deceives the
Council to pay tribute of any form
to a straggler will be deemed to
have sabotaged the Council.
