Jul 17, 2012 - Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Tuesday commissioned an automobile sales, services, training and skill acquisition centre in Ikeja saying the biggest achievement of the Government from the centre would be the qualified personnel that would be produced there from. The automobile sales, services, training and skill acquisition centre named CG – Eko LLP Automobile Centre, is a Public Private Partnership arrangement between Messrs Coscharis Group and the Lagos State Government which has revamped the old Eko Engineering Ventures Limited into an ultra modern centre for the sales and service of automobiles which will also provide training and skill in automobile engineering for young artisans.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Governor Fashola said the concept and successful execution of the project underpinned the philosophy of his administration that Public Private Partnerships are very strategic tools for achieving its objectives in the State. Governor Fashola, who gave credits to his predecessors for their initiative in establishing Eko Engineering Ventures Limited, however, said the failure of the venture to achieve the objectives for which it was established probably validates the popular thinking today that there are businesses that government should not be involved in.

"The concept of ownership necessarily requires that we should rethink and rework our models. It is not who owns the land; it is whether or not we can get skilled and qualified men whose core business is automobile sales, automobile maintenance and automobile re-fleeting to work for us, to give us what we want", the Governor said.

WHy is he making such a fuss over an ordinary mechanic shop? What is the capacity of this particular shop? What impact is it supposed to have on the state of unemployment in Lagos? Why is opening a mechanic shop a priority for his govt when Lagos isnt that short of roadside mechanics and there are more important things begging for his attention? what kind of people is that shop supposed to train? Where is the funding coming from? Any conflict of interest we need to be aware of? We need facts & figures and answers to these questions, not just some stupid ACN propaganda machine going into overdrive.

Why don't YOU do the research on those questions you posed rather than sitting on your FAT LAZY ASSSS condemning something you're ignorant about? At least the poster has helped you by providing the initial information. If you really cared about anything apart from posting your pompous put-downs, you would go about researching the initiative before vilifying it. So kindly zip your lips.

Like I said before, sounds like some of you clowns juts have to show us how silly and re---tarded you all are.

This is painful, but let me waste my time on a loud mouth stone age ignorant like yourself.

1. 1 skilled and gainfully employed mechanic = One less burden on the people and taxpayers of Lagos State.

2. Skilled and educated mechanics are the way forward and not your unskilled and uneducated roadside mechanic.

3. Educating your the people in anyway remains the best impact and legacy any responsible government can bestowed on it's people.

4. This is a PPP project between the state and Coscharis to train 650 Auto mechanics in 4 years in sales/after-sales maintenance workshop, driving school and auto-mechanical skills.

The State provided the old and unused Eko Engineering facility and the PPP partner came up with construction, equipment and training cost.

5. There are 16 state owned skills-acquisition centre in Lagos with thousands of graduates and many of these graduates have access to business loans.

Unfortunately for you, all you gave is your ignorance and stupidity. I even dare you to show my any government in the history of Nigeria that commissions projects nearly everyday.

You lazy and worthless ignorant peopole will not get off your ignorant and uneducated lazy a.....sses to research and educate yourselves, but instead you get on the internet to show the rest of the world how dumb, ignorant and uneducated you all are.

The only propaganda here is the fart brain.

Apart from this joint project, there are 17 skills acquisition centers all over Lagos state, strictly built and equipped by Lagos state. Now, remember I keep asking you to show us any skill and training center your uncle in AKwa built to train your people down there and you still can not come up with one?

lmao... The joke is on you and the poor people of Akwa that Akpabio is scamming...

Do you have any idea where the building came from and who provided it?

The building belongs to the state, it's the state's old Eko Engineering Ventures Limited building.
