;DDr Wise, na wa for you o!what makes me keep having this nostalgic feelings that you're imitating th chap whose thread made front page a few days ago but was literally skinned alive for mentioning that he was driving his SUV when he saw a man, seated on a bike,& then carrying his bike.
Dr. Wise:
I was driving in my SUV when I sighted this post on the front page. grin grin

While SUV may be preferable, i must tell ya that nigerian roads have no love or respect for no vehicles of any type...sooner or later, you will be visiting the mechanic frequently if you drive, SUV okada or a regular car...

If you live in Lagos, you should consider the perennial flooding. So Suv is your best bet. However remember driving an Suv in the city comes with its price which is spending more on fuel.

Milikiman: i wl advice u to get a maintenance frendly suv like pathfinder and a smol car beside just like me.even xpres in naija na offroad
I agree with you. A Pathfinder is a cool SUV and comfortable too[1999-2003], don't ttempt [2006-] but it's not too rugged. An Exterra on the other hand is super rugged but not comfortable.

nonslike: My Friend, I dont see anythign wrong with having only one vehicle and it being SUV, unless you have enough money to change rides. If you dont want a notice me situation , buy a lowly SUVs. There are some SUVs that you will buy today , tomorow your neighbour wont even remember you had one lol..just kidding .

Well, You better get one for yourself unless you aar eno tin Nigeria and remember some SUV are made for OFFROADS. In Nigeria all we have are OFFROADS>>> be Guided !

True. Switched to SUV few months ago, principally because of the bad, waterlogged roads in my area. Only last week, I was hearing some cracra sound in my engine and my mechanic said it's caused by water entering the engine. What I thought an SUV is immune from.

The sound u r hearing could be from your timing chain adjuster. Check it out. Water entering the engine is a No no! Your engine won't even fire up. Check the timing chain adjuster

How come nobody mentioned the fact that an SUV differs from a Jeep.
An SUv is optimised for on-road, a Jeep is at home offroad.

SUVs are just glorified tall cars, in an offroad environment, they will fall to pieces.

People should stop comparing their SUVs with Range Rovers.
One is Fat, the other is Bone.

They should read car reviews and watch Top Gear.

In Nigeria, we sometimes call SUV as jeeps and vice versa not that we don't know the difference. Not sure what you meant by "comparing SUVs with range rovers", a range rover is just a luxurious SUV. If I am driving offroads, I would rather buy a landcruiser than a range even if I can afford both SUVs.

On point! Jeep is just the naija jargon for SUVs.
