The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday in Kaduna reiterated his resolve to privatise the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), if elected President on Saturday.

Family / [PHOTO] Lady Who Beat Up Best Friend For Sleeping With Her Husband by campusmuster: 10:57pm On Feb 20, 2019
A lady who beat up her friend for allegedly sleeping with her husband has been remanded in prison after she was arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Owerri, Imo state.

The convict, Ngozi Akakem, in a video that went viral in January, stripped her friend, Nkiru, naked and physically assaulted her while making a video of the incident.

It was gathered that Ngozi went to Nkiru’s house with thugs and humiliated her at gunpoint.

The defendant was arrested after the video of the embarrassing incident went viral.

Unfortunately, the video of the attack revealing Nkiru’s nudity was released and social media went agog.

This sparked a media outrage which led to the #JusticeforNkiru movement and ultimately the prosecution of Ngozi Akakem in the court of law where she was slammed with a 10 count charge.

She was arraigned in court on 10 count charges. Ngozi, however, pleaded not guilty on the charges leveled against her.

The magistrate granted her bail on the sum of N1 million and the case was adjourned till March 28. She was remanded in prison pending when she perfect her bail conditions.

Education / Shocking!! This Will Happen To You, If You Don't Read And Obey Signs (VIDEO) by campusmuster: 5:47pm On Jul 07, 2018
When some guy stubbornly refused to put out his cigarette at a gas station, an employee of the station decided to go to extreme lengths to show him that it's not ok to smoke so close to a gas pump.

The video shot at Russia’s Gazprom gas station somewhere in Sofia, Bulgaria, depicts a man driving up to the station and getting out of the car. In a true CCTV fashion, the video is blurry, but one thing that we can clearly realize is that the guy seems to be arguing with somebody off camera. Then comes one employee, grabs a big fire extinguisher, pops it open and sprays the guy in the face with it.

Education / How To Study Better Than The Best Student In Your Class by campusmuster: 6:35pm On Jun 19, 2018
When we look for advice on how to study better, most articles trot out the same old advice: create a study schedule, review it frequently, get plenty of sleep, and so on.

Now while tips like these will almost certainly be effective in helping you reach your goals, we’re going to go a step further. We’re going to give you tips that aren’t so common – but ones that will help propel you beyond 99% of your fellow students all the same!

Study Better With These 6 Simple Tips

6. Communicate with others
While you should have your own personal learning goals, study can also be a collaborative process. There are different ways to study and huge benefits to growing a network of contacts (teachers, peers and anyone else who may be interested) with which you can get in contact to discuss ideas and share views.

So there you have it, our how to study tips to become an exceptional student. One word of warning though, just be ready for the requests for help and advice from others once you’ve sharpened your study skills and mastered your topics

5. Avoid shortcuts
In line with the above, what really matters is your personal learning experience. Even if you know that you can get the answer to an exercise you’re doing on the Internet or from a friend, take a step back! Of course you can ask others for their help, but always put your personal learning goals first and foremost. Get the information you need about how to study better and find your own answers.

In the long run, it is much more important to get results through effort and dedication.

“Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction.”

– Anne Frank, The Diary of Anne Frank

4. Don’t compare yourself to others
It may seem ironic that one of the tips on how to study better than 99% of your classmates is by not comparing yourself to them, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true – in the end, success means something different to each of us.
Therefore, the top students do not pay attention to what the next person is doing because they’re focused on their own needs and goals. Aside from that, comparing yourself to others only puts creates undue pressure and restrains both levels of motivation and creativity.

So don’t get bogged down in competition by trying to emulate someone else – follow point 3 and use you emotional intelligence to self-motivate your way to achieving your own success.

Education / Ways To Overcoming Negative Influence On Campus by campusmuster: 6:22pm On Jun 19, 2018
Ways to overcoming negative influence and peer pressure

In the world we find ourselves today, we need people around us to live. Whether good or bad, we’ll surely come across different people and we’ll surely be influenced by them in one way or the other. What do we do about overcoming negative influence? Or at least, how do we fight unwanted peer pressure? Read this article

First of all, please note that not all influences from people are bad. In fact, some people are helping you by influencing you so it’s up to you to define negative influences. This article however, would teach ways to overcoming negative influence.

Ways to overcoming negative influence
Know what is negative
First of all, you need to define bad. To you, what is bad? Everyone have their own definition of negativity. Some people may find pressure in doing something and others won’t. It is beneficial that you have your own unique definition.

What makes you define it as negative?
Make sure you’re not taking a stance because others are taking it. Don’t do things because others do it. To be specific, don’t like or hate things because other people do so. You need to find out the real and genuine reason why you label something as bad. Otherwise, you may be blinding your eyes to more options life has to offer.

Know your weaknesses
Everyone have weaknesses through which others can easily convince them. What are your weaknesses? Have you ever being convinced to do something you initially wouldn’t? If so, how were you convinced? Review your past to find out your weaknesses. When you know your weaknesses, you’ll easily avoid negative influence

Romance / 5 Powerful Ways To Show Intimacy Without Having Sex by campusmuster: 4:32pm On Jun 04, 2018
5 Powerful Ways to Show Intimacy Without Having Sex

Intimacy is usually associated together with sex, but they can easily be independent of each other. According to dictionary.com, intimacy is defined as “a close, familiar, and usually affectionate or loving personal relationship with another person or group.”

Intimacy is such an important aspect of a relationship and it reaches so much farther than sex because sometimes sex just isn’t right or even possible. So here are some ways to spice up your romance *outside* of the bedroom.

Hold hands
Holding hands with your Bestie is more important than it might seem. It makes you feel deeply connected to that person, even if you’re just walking down the street. “My Bestie and I have always been huge on holding hands,” says Faith Etuk, a student at Akwa Ibom State University, “If we’re walking somewhere unfamiliar he’ll hold out his hand to me for protection and to keep me close.

If we’re just hanging out with each other, holding hands is a great way for us to show intimacy and indicate that we want attention.” There’s even science behind the power of holding hands. Oxytocin, also known as “the love hormone,” makes us feel happy and loved and is released when people hold hands. So next time you’re on a date or walking to class with your partner, take their hand. We’re almost 100 percent sure you’ll both smile.

Have deep conversations
A relationship that consists of shallow, meaningless conversations isn’t a healthy one. You should always be challenging your partner to grow intellectually, and they should be doing the same. Communication is key to this kind of growth. Discussing the things that you’re passionate about can help you discover things you didn’t know you had in common with your partner. “My boyfriend and I talk about our future together at random times,” says Roxie Goerzen, a Medical Student at UniUyo,

“We’ll just look at each other and list all the things we’re excited for in the future; we talk about moving out and decorating our future appointment, the names of our future dogs and what after school activities our kids will be doing.”

Touch each other non-sexually
The power of touch is amazing. It’s instinctual for humans to touch each other as a sign of protection and love. Hugging and massaging are underrated ways to show intimacy. Often we think of these things as touches that could possibly lead up to sex or at least a steamy make-out session.

Spending a few extra seconds hugging your Bestie can make you feel more connected. Giving your partner a back massage or touching their hair shows that you care and will create chemistry between the two of you.

Music/Radio / Campus Mixtape With DJ Popnass - May Edition by campusmuster: 8:14pm On May 18, 2018
My first time on stage as a DJ wasn't amazing as everyone thought. Yeah! PyRa, PyRa Pyra on deck (friends hailing) but in real life, PyRa was on heck. I was nervous, shy and nervously shy.

I rehearsed weeks and days before but it wasn't enough to keep those success factors away. 30 minutes into the event (Feddy Prom Party 2015) I was different, hot and active. I was DJ PyRa - the #Mayor_On_Deck.

If you can fight that fear, shyness, and anxiety for one more second. You too can be a #Major_On_Deck. To all DJs across Nigerian Universities, I celebrate you, Majors on Deck.
The long anticipated mixtape is out. Lazy Youth by John Popnass (Major on deck). Show some love.

Hahahaha, nice comment
Education / I Broke Up With My Girl Friend Just To Pass My WASCE - Did It Pay Off? by campusmuster: 3:43pm On Apr 13, 2018
Facebook notified me of a picture I shared 3 years ago. I took the picture a day after I broke up with my girlfriend. I decided to take out few hours to right on how I Broke Up With My Girl Friend Just To Pass My WASCE. Do you think it was worth it? Let the article tell the tale.

This is funny and very personal though, I hate to think about it. I am still wondering what prompted that but can't tell. We were both students of the prestigious Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, same level but different classrooms. She was Igbo and I was the opposite (Hahaha), I never spoke with her before but I used to see her around and I heard she had a senior brother (blessed memory) a class ahead of us, that was enough reason to disengage any romantic feeling (I was too young to die young).

I met her on 2go (I am sure you can relate) during the holiday. She was friendly, loving, cute, kind-hearted, loving and loving. I mistakenly told her I was single (greatest mistake), we got close and shared personal information but I was very careful not to propose.

After the holiday, I went back to school. The evening of resumption, her twin brother and his friends (7 of them) came to my house (Gongola House) telling me I was the best thing that has happened to her sister. I didn't understand and I wasn't ready to understand what they were saying.

Two days after, her senior brother sent for me (oh! who sent me). He was fair and much cuter than his sibling. When I met Him he asked me to narrate everything - I did (with all amount of accuracy).  Lo, and below he congratulated me and told me He will kill me if I broke her sister's heart.

A day after we separated, I was all suited up for some real stuff.

Green Light, Pom Pom! We were officially seeing each other. Travel to her classroom, she would do same. Walked to the refectory together, "Pinnacle of Glory" (I am sorry, I can't explain what that means - Only an alumnus will understand), I never missed morning jogging again and during extensions.

We went on and on until our SS3 First term. West African Certificate Examination was a pen throw and I was sure that my failure was working out in my village square. I tried reading, each word was translated to love (OMG, I was in love). I lost concentration, focus and I was in love.

There was a common saying in school - It all ends in the blue gate

I didn't want mine to be that way but I was sure either way it will still end. She came from a rich family and from the Nigerian setting he has 90% chances of getting into the university. My Mum will kill you before you even suggest any funny academic shortcut.

I wasn't ready to stay an extra year at home. My junior brother Daniel Bassey and school son Mmekut-Abasi were directly looking up to me. I couldn't afford to fail. At this stage, fear was the real deal.

"Emmm! i i i, emmmm! I i think we need to to to kinda you know break up like not real life break up but you know stop seeing each other for some time" - I rehearse my break up speech.

And eemmmmmmm! I think you should come the remaining part here: https://www.campusmuster.com/lifestyle/i-broke-up-with-my-girl-friend-just-to-pass-my-wasce/
