A lady said her sister registered with Airtel and it worked. She got 270.

You guys should stop saying things you ain't sure of.

If it is not you that checked it, then its hearsay. Do you know that thousands of people have been unable to check their results. Airtel has also confirmed the claims.

If your neighbour successfully checked his or hers, then the issue has just been fixed, not that thousands of people who are frustrated with not being able to check their results and losing millions in the process are speaking what they aren't sure of.

JAMB Results: Airtel Subscribers Unable To Check Their Results

Airtel subscribers across Nigeria are unable to access their Jamb results due to poor network service from Airtel.

In response to a message sent by SoccerLawyer to Airtelnigeria on social media, demanding a public statement from Airtel, Airtel helpline explained that the matter is currently being investigated.

It must be noted that many subscribers have spent over N1000 in a futile attempt to check their result. Airtel should publicly address subscribers and the public at large about the network challenge as this would enlighten its subscribers and prevent them from further wasting their time and airtime trying to check their results. Airtel should also stop collecting charges for services it is not providing as this constitutes fraud.

JAMB should equally make its portal available for checking results in line with its press release to journalists in which it listed its portal as another means of checking JAMB results.

Dear Airtel,

Thank u for nationally disappointing ur subscribers who cannot check their JAMB results bcs uv failed to provide the needed service. Today is the 3rd day. Unless u publicly address the issue and stop collecting charges, it follows that u're defrauding ur subscribers
Chike of Soccer (Soccer Lawyer)

Good morning ! I have been checking my daughter results since the announcement of the result by jamb board with the Airtel number that she use to register it ! To my surprise up till now jamb didn't send the result but deducting almost #1000 .

What a shame. 8 years of NO school built; yet, Anambrans were fucking and having babies like wabbits in the thousands. They then export the kids to other states at school age grin

There are not enough schools in Anambra and due to over subscription, Peter Obi made the famous statement that education in Anambra was not for the poor.

Do you know that Anambra State since Peter Obi's tenure outperforms Lagos State in education year in year out?

Even the President reasons with Peter Obi in his move to merge MDAs to bring about efficiency. Do you know how many abandoned project Nigeria has and the billions of dollars wasted?

You can pretend not to see the fact that Peter Obi rescued the dying schools and transformed Anambra secondary schools to being arguably the best in the country

Two of the three critical textbooks recommended by JAMB for candidates are neither accessible nor available, not only in Nigeria, but anywhere else in the world.

One of the books is authored by a Nigerian and the other by a foreigner. The Nigerian authored critical text is titled 'A Dictionary of Literature ' by Emeaba Onuma Emeaba and published in 1987 while the foreign authored critical text is titled 'Understanding Unseens: An Introduction to English Poetry and the English Novel for Overseas Students' by Murphy Murtagh John and published in 1972.

I have personally visited 3 top Nigerian universities existing during the publication of these texts but could locate the book. The best information I found during my expedition was the call marks of the texts in the catalog section of the University of Abuja library. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the book in the entire library.

I have visited all major book markets in Lagos, Ibadan, and Abuja and couldn't find anything useful.

If anyone has any information that would help to locate the texts, please reach out to me.

Religion / Re: Why Do Christians Worship On Sundays? by chiwuike20: 12:41pm On Nov 28, 2021
swhiss:

After God brought His people out of Egypt and through the Red Sea, the Sabbath day took on even more significance as a covenant sign that God sanctified His people (Ex. 31:13). On that day, the saints celebrated the reality that God had created them and that their rest was rooted in His rest: "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day" (Ex. 20:8-11). As well, the Sabbath signified that God had redeemed His people (Deut. 5:12-15). Finally, the annual Day of Atonement fell on a Sabbath (Lev. 16:30-31), so the Sabbath also celebrated God's forgiveness of His people.

Under the old covenant with Israel (Ex. 19; Heb. 8:6, 7, 13), the Sabbath day was extremely strict. Not only was no work to be done by the Israelites and their children, they also were to give rest to all in their households—servants, livestock, even sojourners (Ex. 20:10). God even gave regulatory laws over what could and could not be done. For example, if one even went out to gather sticks on the Sabbath in order to kindle a fire (Num. 15:32-36; Ex. 35:1-3), he was to be put to death (Ex. 31:14-15; 35:2). All this strictness was a part of the tutelage of the law, which was meant to lead Israel by the hand to Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:24), who is the final sacrifice ending the old covenant (Heb. 7:11-12, 18-19; 8:7, 13).

When Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week, things changed. Christ, the second Adam, "finished" (John 19:30) the work that the first Adam failed to do (Rom. 5:12-19). Because of that pivotal event, the church determined that for Christians under the new covenant, the day of worship and celebration of the Lord's grace in Jesus Christ was to be the first day of the week, Sunday: "From the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ, [the Sabbath] was the last day of the week; and, from the resurrection of Christ, was changed into the first day of the week, which, in Scripture, is called the Lord's day, and is to be continued to the end of the world, as the Christian Sabbath" (WCF, 21:7). On this day, we are reminded of and participate in the glorious reality that we have already entered God's rest (Matt. 11:28; Heb. 4:10) and that we await the experience of the fullness of this rest in eternity in the new heavens and new earth (Rev. 21-22). We now assemble corporately for worship and enjoy a foretaste of our eternal rest, then go out into the kingdom of this world to work for six days.

So why do we worship on Sunday and not Saturday?

•The first day of the week was the day on which our Lord rose from the dead (John 20:1; cf. Ps. 118:24).

•The first day of the week is called "the Lord's day" (Rev. 1:10; cf. 1 Cor. 16:2).
The first day was the day on which the Holy Spirit was poured out on the church (Acts 2:1-36).

•Just as on the first day of creation God made light and separated it from the darkness, we gather on the first day of the week to celebrate the light of the gospel in Jesus Christ, who has separated us from the world of the darkness of sin (John 1:5, 9; 3:19; 8:12; 2 Cor. 4:1-6).

It's good you stated that supposed Christians, and not God, chose the day as the day to worship. This act is similar to the act of Uzziah who disregarded God's commandment because he wanted to help God and lost his life as a result. Moses as well did not enter the promise land because he chose to act in ways different from the word (instruction) of God.

To clarify some misunderstandings, worship on sabbath began when rested from his work of creation and told us to observe same. It did not start in the course of exodus or after settling in Canaan. It represents God as our creator and so worshipping on other days other the day God set aside for worship is direct disobedience to God and exalting our opinion over God's will.

Again, Jesus worshipped on the Sabbath. In his death, he observed the Sabbath rest, and those who buried him followed suit. How then can his resurrection after resting on the Sabbath day be his commission of flouting his instruction which he kept himself? Lastly, Jesus never himself said nothing about the day being his let alone giving his followers to worship on the day.

The worse type of deception is the one which is wrought on oneself. Scripture is clear that the day of worship is Sabbath and not Sunday (the word Sunday is derived from pagan worship practices).

May God grant those truly want to serve him the knowledge and boldness to worship him.

Finally, Sabbathworshippers are not necessarily white garment church members.

My question for you is this. is it only Nigeria involved in Panama leaks? Even in the whole debacle of events, Nigeria is small fry when you compare the level of rot the leaks brough to light.

Even governments of countries were involved and so long as tax heavens exists, people will continue to take advantage of them.

Again, I said the problem with Nigeria is bigotry which is a broad statement directed at Nigeria in its entirety. I never directed at you personally neither did I mention any tribe, ethnic group nor religion.

Your quick assumption that I directed same to you just shows that you have both low IQ and dismal emotional quotient. My advice to you is work on the two aforementioned then come back for a well balanced intellectual discourse.

As per CAC records we have 300k registered and active SMEs while as per FIRS records only about 50k of same pay taxes.

My question where is the gap coming from? People register companies to add legitimacy to their business but trade in their personal names to avoid taxes. Yet ya'll cry foul because he gets concessions from govt. Maybe you should also seek solace in google for this anomaly.

God bless Dangote
God bless Nigeria

1. You are too stupid to find normalcy...
2. After you referred to Nigerians as being bigots, bla bla bla, you shifted to you (referring to me)... By applying the Ejusdem Generis Rule, you are clearly referring to me. If not me, who else?
3. "you have both low IQ and dismal emotional quotient." I am grateful didn't spend much time engaging you.

It appears you are better in the art of insulting than in healthy arguments. So, I am going to leave you to it before I get caught up in the mix.

Finally, Mr. IQ, I am going to write a short piece whenever I have the time to do so about Dangote's handed fortune and how it affects the common man negatively. I'll make sure to invite you so I can receive your forceful, rude and disparaging views.
Politics / Re: FFK: 'Was Nigeria Created For Dangote Or Was Dangote Created For Nigeria?' by chiwuike20: 9:09am On Nov 12, 2020

What you fail to understand is that the economy needs big conglomerates like Dangote and Co to survive.

We are in an ecosystem and in this ecosystem, everyone has to fit in and play their roles. Think of this as a pyramid where Dangote is at the top of the food chain and he has other SMEs that depend on him and vice versa in a symbiotic manner.

There are small businesses today employing tons of people that won't be able to exist without Dangote and Co.

The thriving real estate sector around lekki-epe is because of the refinery he is building there. Is it the sub distributors on his Dangote Cement Distribution Scheme you want to talk about or same for his FMCG business all of which employ thousands of people both directly and indirectly? Or the construction company employing people all over the country? Is it the back ward integration and back to farm program he is currently sponsoring in the North to encourage farmers to return to their farms despite the security situation that you want me to talk about? Or the fact that he has set up a scheme where off takers are guaranted for farm produce thereby encouraging farmers to produce and also providing seedlings for same? All of which will help reduce the food crisis we currently face?

Or you think he does not grapple with the same issues every business faces in Nigeria?

So in your mind, destroying his business is the only recipe that will guarantee success for small business that don't even play same space with him. Anybody can invest in the EPZ and Free Trade zones, it is not the exclusive right of foreigners. Albeit the foreigners have seen the long term benefits of investing in these locations and they are capitalising on it. Nigerians with our get rich quick mentality and short term mindset haven't seen same.

You see the problem with Nigerians is that of ethnic, tribal and religious bigotry. And to challenge your claim, small business are not taxed to the bones, infact, Nigeria has the lowest tax collection regime in the world compared to the number of SMEs in circulation. You people just rant without any substance to back it up.

Despite the so called government concession that is giving ya'll a hard on, Dangote still paid about 35billion naira in taxes to government in 2019 across all his businesses. Even now FIRS has created a tax exempt policy for businesses with less than 25m annual turnover and I know most people look for ways to avoid paying taxes by doing business in their personal names.

Finally Nigeria is a capitalist system and capitalism is first and foremost about profit. If you want to operate in a socialist economy, please relocate to China or North Korea.

Ya'll want to enjoy the benefits of capitalism on socio economic policies. What kind of catch 22 situation is that?

God bless Dangote
God bless Nigeria

Now I'm sure I wasted my time engaging you. Before i quit, you said 35 billion naira in taxes, right? But have you heard about the Panama, Swiss and other papers leaks? Have you heard how much Nigeria loses in taxes and major contributors? Take solace in google.

You say Nigeria small businesses pay the lowest taxes in comparison with what obtains in other parts of the world, right? This one will be a long journey, so I'll leave you and google to it.

About your accusation that I am ethnic in outlook, I reject it totally. I prefer being a Nigerian to being an Ibo person. I believe in the capacity of each individual to contribute to progress. I believe in fairness, competition and sportsmanship, devoid of the feeling of entitlement.

Don't tell him to Google it. You that is pained that Dangote gets concessions, show us the evidence.

God bless Dangote
God bless Nigeria

It pains me to the bones of course. Why? Because small and medium sized businesses are taxed to the bones. These businesses (SMEs)are popular for creating employment and revenue. Yet, these businesses which employs less than a quarter of what is obtainable with the aforementioned types of business forms, are given all forms of concession running into billions of naira. This is daylight fraud and robbery on the citizenry. Foreigners are also granted impossible concessions if they would invest in the EPZ - which is another blanket term for saying the North - and for investing in foreign currencies into the country.

Let me summarize, foreigners and the likes of Dangote cannot never experience loss in business. If they do, there are many concessions enough to absorb it. For the average man wishing to start and develop a business, the indices are not favorable. There is 70-30% chance that he will not succeed. It takes ingenuity and immense hard work to break even for small businesses. Nigeria cannot be better, let alone be great under an unfair system.

Nigerians receive salaries from every part of the world as a result of their expertise in some area of discipline. Tell me of one of Dangote's legacies by way of Corporate Social Responsibility in the South - a school, hospital or some thing of value on ground and functioning.

Happily, other billionaires in the south who not only obtained the best of education but know it's value, have foundations granting scholarships and career development programmes worth hundreds of million every year. You think I dislike Northerners? Sorry, i dont. On the contrary, I love the average Northerner. It is the leaders I dislike somewhat. Northerners are popular for their admirable honesty. If you've been there, you'll testify. The problem of the North is their leaders. The continued concessions granted Dangote is to the detriment of many small and medium scale businesses that could sustain even more workforce. Little wonder the more the North obtains more concessions from the Federal Government the more its people plunge in poverty. The money eventually enters the pockets of a few persons who are not benevolent.
