Business / Re: Zenith Bank's "Up Country Charge" by Eseaba: 10:26pm On Oct 28, 2010
Nigeria is truely a wonderful country. People can say whatever they want to say. Just because of charges of N200.00 for Up country transfers, Nigerians are shouting. We pay tax to government and our roads are dead traps, nobody is shouting. Elections are rigged and unpopular candidate declared winner nobody shouted.

But a just for a bank to charge N200.00, someone is crying. Such charges is not perculiar to one bank or Nigeria, all over the world banks charge for various services.

I will advise the poster to accept this charge as legitimate as CBN should have approved of it before banks can charge their customers. If you doubt it, then escalate this to CBN, EFCC and the likes.

Also, the marketer is not monopoly. You are at liberty to choose your banker where you think you will get everything for free. Please be wise!

Culture / Re: Fashola Unveils The Logo Of Lagos Carnival 2010. by Eseaba: 8:47am On Jan 30, 2010
Naija people, embrace culture and tourism, its not all work work, tourism is changing the world. There is carnival everywhere, In london, China, US, Australia, Calabar etc.

Lets appreciate this good idea and stop the childish arguments against a goodly governance. Lets show the world that Lagos is a Land of peace, Lets people in Jos emulate the unity and peace that exist in Lagos.

It will be a fun fare I belive, but we need holidays to enjoy the moments sha, so Fashola give us Bankers time to enjoy the carnival,
Career / Re: Zenith Bank Downsizes - 600+ Employees Sacked by Eseaba: 11:02pm On Nov 24, 2009
The truth as now revealed is that no bank is immuned on the global financial crisis and the Lamido's abrakadabra. Indeed, CBN has brought problems to the Nigerian Banking industry. What good has the so called reforms proferred? Salary cuts, Job losses, unemployement and so on. Folks, year 2010 is going to be a very difficult year for look of things. Banks have stopped employing, graduates tripping into the labour market everyday without hope of getting any job.

What good does Lamido have as regards the recession and job losses? Let Lamido make pronouncement on the plan to cushion the effects of his so called policy on the economy.

Lamido in a bit to solve problems created more. He sacked MDs for bad loans and brought in new ones to enjoy what they never sowed.

Lamido, the mighty are falling all for your so called abrakadabra, wake up man!
Business / Re: New CBN Audit Report Out - 3 More Banks Indicted by Eseaba: 9:44pm On Sep 05, 2009
Why all these rumours? CBN is auditing only 11 banks and the results are not out. There are three banks yet to be audited and there are: Standard Chartered Bank, StanbicIBTC and ETB.

Where come the rumour that three more banks are indicted by CBN.

Why all these deceipts and rumours? There is no result of the 11 banks which the audit is almost completed by the CBN.

Please, let us help this country in little way we can.

Career / Re: Oceanic Bank Sack Over 1500 Staffs In 30days by Eseaba: 10:21pm On Jul 28, 2009
IT IS OBVIOUS THE BANK CANNOT MEET UP WITH THE HIGH PAY PACKAGE, AND THEREFORE THEY HAVE TO SACRIFICE STAFFS. UNLIKE ZENITH AND INTERCONTINENTAL, THAT SLASH SALARY TO SURVIVE THE MELTDOWN, OCEANIC BANK HAS DECIDED TO MAINTAIN ITS PRIDE (HIGHEST PAYING BANK) AND LAY OFF STAFF, SO UNFORTUNATE.

Who said Zenith slashed salary? Where did you get that info? Man, try and be constructive in giving out information that are not true.

Career / Re: Salary In The Nigerian Army? by Eseaba: 5:41pm On Jan 18, 2008
Morning Sirs,
All opinions and contributions respected.
However, nobody has realy hit my question on the head. I need information about the salary in the army so as to take decision on joining the DSSC. Well, some contributors concluded that I'm only after the money. Well, it was their opinions.

I think it is important I know what I will earn as salary or allowances before I effect a career move.

Please, just as we get information on what Banks, Oil Companies, etc pay as salary, let someone provide me with the Pay package of Military Personnel especially the Direct Short Service Combatants. Information on the Training Allowance for the 6-9 months is a vital one too. Please, can anybody provide this information? Please, time is going?

Thank you.

Shun sirs,
V/admiral, and other Officers on board, this discussion is getting more exciting and I am getting to love and appreciate Uniform Life more.

V/admiral, please I want more clarifications of some issues. Before then, know now that I am a Chartered Accountant. I am satisfactorily employed as an Internal Auditor in a reputable company.

Officer inform me with the following:
1. As a Direct Service officer, what is the Highest Rank I can get to?
2. What is required minimum year(s) of service I can get to before I can resign?
or can I resign anytime if I desire?
3. How is life in Jaji camp?
4. As a married person, if I quit my job to attend training at Jaji, will I receive
allowance(PAY) at the camp to cater for my family? What measure?
5. V/admiral, can I reach you on phone? Send phone number to my
email:saint_mao@yahoo.com

Thank you sir.
Career / Re: Salary In The Nigerian Army? by Eseaba: 2:47pm On Jan 14, 2008
Love all contributions. Let us not be deceived, whether you call it SERVICE or CHARITY organization, PAY can't be ruled out. For those of you that thought I am after the PAY only, you didn't get it.
Know now: I have a good Job already as a Chartered Accountant. I have love for the uniform and privileges. My concern for the PAY is simple and cogent: I don't want to go below my present status.
Well I cherished Admiral for his contributions. I have made many enquiries. I will visit Bonny Camp this week to add to the info I have already. The major one I need now is the prospert. I mean the Highest Rank I may get to as an officer from Direct Service.

Thank you all for the contribution. More should come.

I appreciate all contributors. You see, a society is not complete without beggers, idiots and insane. At least this post has made to remember some secondary school vocabularies like ignamunous, born of no training, idiotous, vagabond, etc.
Lets us try and accomodate some idiots and uncultured even if their comments are thrash. All we should do if filter those thrashes and ignore the "irrelivants".

My dear Zenith Marketer, marketing in Zenith bank is not different from Modern Marketing. Grab the entire information about the bank and competitors in the industry. Zenith bank is a brand name that needs like introduction to the investing public. No selling body. Just have a first hand information about the most recent awards won by the bank, profile of the management team, then little financial info like divident payouts, Share Price.

Girl , its easy marketing for Zenith bank. For more detailed information, don't hesitate to contact me: saint_mao@yahoo.com.

Oj.

Politics / Re: Naira To Be Re-Denominated by Eseaba: 4:24pm On Aug 17, 2007
No more story. Redomination of Naira is not Nigeria's problem. I see this whole thing as a political agenda being perpectuated by Politicians in order to divert taxpayers money to their own pocket.

No knowledge of Economics is needed to analyse this. Economic activities will not change.

See this.

Career / Re: Best Ican Tuition House In Lagos by Eseaba: 12:46pm On Aug 06, 2007
There are good ICAN tuition houses in Lagos. Namely, WySE Associates, Safe Associates, Pye at Jibowo. I attended Wyse for my PE3 last Nov.06 diet. Wyse is good at PE3 level, I must confess. Innocent Okwosa is one of the best Lecturers of Group Accounts (PE2) and he is a director at Safe.

I think these three tuition houses are good. WySE has the advantage of Location. For me, I attended WySE because of proximity from m home. If I had lived at Surulere, no doubt I would have attended Safe.

Dear, consider distance. WySE, Safe, Pye are not ACA manufacturers. You manufacture your own ACA. I have friends that qualified without a tuition house( though I can't recommend this. It produces academicians rather than professionals).

Just put location first and go for any of the above three.

Best of Luck.

Career / Re: ICAN Has Rejected Me Again by Eseaba: 10:11am On Aug 03, 2007
$ammy,

I know U can make it. I never believed I could fail any exam in my life until I had a bad failure written boldly when I viewed my ICAN Nov.2006 diet result online. It was SFM. It didn't suprise me 'cos I had a tough time with the subject in that Nov.06 exam. Funny enough, none of my colleagues made that same SFM that diet. My joy was that some students still passed it.

U will make it . I've passed my SFM

For u eniola1310 that wants to throw Wyse Associates to the mould, u need to be corrected. Wyse is one of the best Tuition houses in Nigeria. I passed all my PE 2 papers without lectures. I wont regret attending lectures @ Wyse for my PE 3.

For u Sporal, don't castigate ICAN and stop the comparison with ACCA. ICAN is a professional exam. Students still pass ICAN. Its all about hardwork. ACCA you mentioned is not garri. Try it and see which is easier to pass.

My poster, don't mind distractors. Big up, keep burning the candle, there is like at every end of a tunnel.
