Nairaland / General / It Is Time To Pay All Politicians Back. by hashman(m): 12:04am On Mar 25, 2020
You stole our money and ran to Europe and bring back Corona virus.
Any Governor(s), senators or minister(s) that tests positive of coronavirus should be taken to his or her state specialist hospital for treatment simple...
If Corona Virus had Started from Nigeria, Our leaders would have taken their families to Overseas & leave us to our fate.
So Chief of staff will be taken to gwagwalada since he has been tested positive or is there another hospital designated for the mighty?
We are not even done with Coronavirus and the stupid China just releases another Covid-20 Pro max Hantavirus.
Dear politicians, don't u tink it is a smart idea for u to share sanitizer nd face mask now?Do u want to wait till election period?
Life after power is longer than life in power, be caution of any position you find your self today.
Build World class hospital, Schools, markets, roads so that things will get better, But they will loot all the monies ment for the project, send there children to Europe, Buy massive mansions and any small thing, they will jet out. We are all in it together today. Is better we begin to make things work again. This pandemic will serve as a lesson for looters and make us to grow up as a leader not looters.

Politics / Corruption Allegation: Why They Are After DCP Rabi by hashman(m): 10:16pm On Apr 08, 2019
Corruption Allegation: Why they are after DCP Rabi

A close assocoate of the Head of the Police Education Department, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rabi Umar Laraba has cried out over alleged plot to forcefully remove her from office.

The associate while reacting over allegations of corruption levelled against her by the Coalition for Peace and Security (CUPS).

CUPS, in a statement issued by its director, Dr. Idris Ahmed, alleged that the police officer while serving as secretary to former IGP Ibrahim Idris, collected bribes for promotion.colleagues of the officer who consider her a stumbling block.

The comfidant to the DCP disclosed that since her assumption of office as head of the police education department, DCP Rabi has taken drastic steps to reduce corruption within the system.

DCP Rabi was said to have inherited a rotten school system and immediately went to work to introduce sanity among officials who are prone to cutting corners.

He said a few rotten eggs who are not happy with the stand the DCP has taken, are now out to tarnish her hard earned reputation just so she can be removed from her office.

“She reconstructed and renovated schools, where previously students were sleeping on bare floors. Most significantly, she put an end to the weekly sharing of money by officials who deduct funds from children school fees.

“Before her arrival, N5000 was being deducted from the N20, 000 feeding charges for sharing among officials,” the source further disclosed.

“I can confidently tell you that DCP Rabi’s promotion was in order. Her promotions came after every three years. In her 31 years of service, she is among a few who we can testify, never demanded for bribe,” the source added.

He warned that DCP Rabi will confer with the authorities on the matter but that she will certainly sue CUPS before a court of law for defamation of character.

“All the allegations in the statement are not true. It is the handiwork of disgruntled persons who are not happy with the reforms DCP Rabi has introduced in the system,” the source added.

He challenged anyone with credible information on any of the corruption allegations levelled against the police officer to come forward with such.

Nairaland / General / Strike By Non Academic Staff Of Universities Have Paralysed Some University.... by hashman(m): 6:16pm On Mar 08, 2018
Its apparently clear that the strike embarked upon by the non-teaching staff of Universities have significantly paralysed some of the University activities. Although am of the opinion that strike is not the only means of expressing grievances to the government but in Nigeria is the language which government understand better.

I was called on phone by one of the M.Sc graduates here in ATBU who spoke almost in tears asking me about when to suspend the ongoing strike to enable her collect the statement of result. well, I sympathised with Saudat because she desperately need the result probably for her promotion.

It was just three weeks ago when somebody missed a foreign scholarship due to the non presentation of his B.Eng. degree certificate. This was as a result of the ongoing strike.

A lady speaks "sir when are you resuming, I need my transcript". Oh! Gosh! She need it to process her admission in one of the Universities in Malaysia. She may probably miss the admission due to the ongoing strike.

It is obvious that those who graduated in 2016/2017 Session are yet to collect their statement of result and by extension they will not go for NYSC.

2. From the students perspective, the strike have negatively affected the students even though the academic staff counterpart CLAIMED that things are going on smoothly. Sometimes I just laugh. OK here we go.

All the Universities medical centres were shut down due to the ongoing strike, as such medical services are not provided. For instance in Bauchi, this week there was a reported case of cholera outbreak and it may likely find its way to ATBU, therefore, both the parents, the University Management and students will be exposed to severe hardship due to the absence of medical personnel.

It was reported that in BUK, UNIABUJA etc students undergoes series of hardship due to the absence of water operators, in fact they spent huge amount of money in buying pure water sachets. Ladies travelled to a far distant place to fetch water.

Students used their torch light to read at University of Ibadan and UNIMAID due to the absence of generator operators, as such students were in darkness.

The University computer centres were locked due to the ongoing strike. In this case students can't have access to free internet for their assignments.

In BUK, students hostels were poorly maintained. It smells badly. One of the lecturers told me that sometimes students engage the services of Almajiri boys to clean their toilets.

Interms of sporting activities, every thing is now on halt due to the ongoing strike. In addition students don't get access to University buses for their excursion.

Due to the absence of University technologist and technicians some of the practical sessions cannot be possible, in fact some Universities conduct exams without practicals, imagine!

3. The strike also affects the fellow staff of the University.

Some of the staff entitlements were not paid due to the absence of bursary staff.

The staff school was closed children were stranded because academic activities was disrupted, whereas their colleagues in other schools are about to round up the first term.

Due to the absence of University drivers, the directors, Deans etc have to drive themselves to office.

4. The strike of non-teaching staff also dried the purse of Universities. For instance, in ATBU, ideally postgraduate students needs to pay reasonable percentage of their school fees before they were allowed to sit for 2nd semester exams, but due to the absence non-teaching staff in PG School (who verified their payments) some PG students successfully wrote their exams without paying dime. A lady told me that "i enjoyed this strike-munchi bulus" This is at the detriment of the University.

5. In addition, the strike may probably affects the conduct of JAMB exams.

In essence, University system cannot be fully operational without the input of the non-teaching staff. Both the teaching and non-teaching staff have a role to play towards making the system worthwhile. The academic staff should stop deceiving themselves that the system can function effectively even without non-teaching staff. This is for the interest of the students, because they are the one at the receiving end.

I urge the FG to look into the demands of non-teaching staff and to facilitate and fast track bringing an end to the strike, because, STUDENTS ARE DYING IN SILENCE!
