@BlueMagnificent... Great job you're doing here... I remember a while back when I was trying to setup wxwidget too, anyway, I ended up going with Qt. its been great so far and I've been working on a project for a while now. But I'm having some difficulty achieving what I want with QPrintPreviewDialog... I'd post snippets if you can help me out.

So it's day six since I got the infinix hot, everything seems fine except for the fact that my back cover is beginning to make annoying creaking noises at the sides, towards the bottomangry

I may have popped open the back a couple of times, but it's still no reason...! Do other owners who who take off their back covers a lot, for one reason or the other experience this, or is it just me...?

alryt...so hws the phone overall performance including battery?

Overall performance is great, it has handled everything I've thrown at it quite well for a phone at this price... Plays FHD videos flawlessly...

As for battery performance, I guess you can't really get an objective answer about that from anyone... It all depends on what your expectations are... All I can say is that it performs as a 2000mAH battery on a large screen should perform...

nahh...u should not have uninstalled it.......download greenify frim playstore, open it and click on the chinese super su installed, then click hibernate..dats all..the english ome takes control...or u could use titanium to uninstall the chinese one

It turned out the superSU I installed earlier wasn't the correct one, or it was a clone... I got the correct one this time and it's now in charge of granting root permissions... Thanks...!

Reediano:

To replace it just download supersu by chainfire on playstore and use it to replace the Chinese version you have

guydangerous:
pls oh watin concern you with super su,that app is just there to grant third party application access to the phone which you tick or tap authorize or deny after which you are done with the app watin....... you wan brick your phone,or better still delete the super su apk and download super su in zip format don't extract, now boot to recovery mode and install zip from SD card which should be the super su (if you want to do this method let me know) or try download super su from play store or Google the English version,STAY CLEAR FROM CHAINFIRE 3D

guydangerous:
abeg my brother no spoil person phone ooo my goodness, you know no say chain fire dy brick android phones

Chainfire is the name of the developer of superSU, He didn't mean I should download "Chainfire 3D"... Nevertheless, I'll just stick with the Chinese version like yall suggested...and yes I did try superSU from playstore, but it didn't take control from thye already installed one, so I just uninstalled it...

alryt....next time u ll click on dat green circle..........ok pls explain how vroot is being used

It actually stopped at that after tapping the green button once...

I think the vroot is now iroot, I don't know... I was redirected to another page to download iroot instead...

Anyway, I just installed it, turned on USB debugging... The program detected and automatically downloaded the needed drivers since I didn't have mtk drivers installed...

Once installed, a green button with root written became active, I just clicked it, the phone restarted and rooting was done...

The Super user app installed is totally in Chinese... Is there a way to replace that...?

I picked mine up yesterday, I'd like to say the battery is quite OK with my usage so far... Comparing it with the Gionee P2s I was using before, I'd say it's a lot better...

I tried framaroot with no success... Root masters on here can suggest another method here and I'd try...

Notice my Asphalt 8 graphic settings are set to high... And you can also notice the speed blur effect being visible... And of course no lags at all in this setting...

After running such a demanding process, my du battery thermometer was reading between 35 and 38...I don't know what you make of that, but I know the p2s I was using before would've hit 42 degrees...

BlueMagnificent: Its good u start from there... But from your post it seems there is a bit of miss-information about code::blocks and wxWidgets. Actually wxWidgets does not come with code::blocks ( vice versa) . What comes with code::blocks is wxSmith which is a wxWidgets GUI builder. WxSmith is just a code::blocks plugin, you'ld still have to get wxWidgets separately in order to build wxWidgets based apps with code::blocks

Alright...
Downloaded and installed...but i keep getting this...

Programming / Re: Hope For C++ Newbies: Gui Toolkits by jereal(m): 7:29pm On Sep 16, 2014
BlueMagnificent:

smiley both are excellent, it depends on the one you feel more productive with. Qt has really good UI implemeted using themes, that is, most if not all the control of Qt are actually drawn by qt instead of using that provided by the system... If you feel that the perfomance consequence of this is not a issue ( which honestly should not be ) and you are okay with your applications looking non-native, then you can go for it. On the other hand wxWidgets uses the controls provided by the default gui implementation of its target platform (win32 api in the case of windows). This gives your application a native look with the down-side being that applications UI look different or different platforms. I use both but tend to use wxWidgets most of the time

It's obvious that whichever I start with, I'm eventually gonna have to get familiar with both...
I'm resolving to start with wxwidget, considering the fact that it comes with code::blocks already, & I'd not need to make any additional downloads.
I also re-read your original post and saw that you suggested newbies should try wxwidget first.
So wxwidget it is cheesy

EXCELLENT post @BlueMagnificent
The problem I have is still being torn between choosing qt or wxwidget.
Read countless opinions on various forums, and somehow, they all seem to favour qt more...and up untill now, I had made up my mind I was going with wxwidget.
But I'm beginnig to have a rethink right.
Which do you do you suggest...?

eddy1759: download setcpu and underclock ur device, download greenify to hibernate some apps and do d following:
Get a black or darker colored
wallpaper and stay away from Live
Wallpapers .
Cluster your apps in folders so you
aren't sapping battery life by having
a screen full of colored app tiles.
Set your device to battery saving
mode .
Set your screen's timeout setting to
as short a time as possible.
Set your screen brightness to as
low a setting as is comfortable, or
enable automatic brightness.
Take unnecessary widgets off your
home screen (in the images above: I
already have the temperature, time,
battery level etc in the notifications
bar, so the widget is basically
unnecessary, and I grouped my
social media apps together)
If you have themes on your phone,
choose a darker colored theme.
Red and black will save your battery
more than white/yellow and green/
blue.
You don't necessarily have to go
with all black, but the darker the
better , or at least something with
lots of black areas and only
occasional color patches.
Check your app settings, many
allow you to customize the look of
the app interface. WhatsApp for
example let's you choose a
wallpaper for chats. Again, choosing
a black ground will save precious
pixel illumination.

Wow... I'll give these tips a try
