Politics / Unknown Gunmen Killed Patience Jonathan's Former Security Aid by megajay1(m): 7:56am On Jun 29, 2015
A Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tamuno Jacob Igbomie, who was Principal Security Officer to the wife of the former President, Patience Jonathan, has been shot dead by unknown assailants.
Igbomie’s corpse was found in his Honda Accord car last Friday along the Airport Road, Abuja.

The former PSO, who was married with two children, was believed to have been killed by assassins who shot him at close range in his car and left the engine running.

A source said the body of the DSP was found early in the morning with all his phones, wallet and
other personal effects in tact in the car.

“We believe Tamuno was killed by hired assassins because they did not take away anything in his car. His phones and wallets were still with him when his body was found in the car with the engine steaming.

He was shot in the night and his body was found early in the morning; we don’t know if he was killed over a business transaction or disagreement with someone,” the source who served with the deceased at the villa stated.

It was gathered that the deceased, who hailed from Okrika, Bayelsa State, was serving at the Federal Capital Territory Police Command before he was deployed to the Presidential Villa as Aide-De-Camp to Patience when her husband was the Vice President.

He was later appointed as the PSO to Patience when her husband became the President in 2011.

PUNCH reports that findings indicate that the late policeman had just been redeployed back to his former position at the FCT Police Command, where he was in charge of posting of junior officers.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, confirmed the killing of the policeman, noting that investigation had started to unravel the assailants.

“Yes, a DSP attached to the villa was killed last week Friday, investigation has started to find out the people behind the murder. No arrest has been made yet,” he said over the phone on Sunday.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Anjuguri Manzah, said the FCT Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu, had ordered an investigation into the tragic incident.

Politics / Families Beseige Mortuary In Search Of Dead Students Of Ogun Varsity by megajay1(m): 3:14pm On Jun 28, 2015
It was a hectic task for workers of Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, Sagamu to control the crowd as families and friends of some students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, who lost their lives on the Sagamu-Benin Expressway, on Friday, besieged the hospital in search of them.
No fewer than 12 persons lost their lives when a container from a truck fell on a 14-seater commercial bus they were travelling in from Ago-Iwoye to Lagos State.
Sunday Vanguard gathered that some relatives were told by the hospital authorities that the bodies were not deposited at their morgue as reported by some media outfits.
A senior staff of the hospital, who craved for anonymity, noted that grieving family members of the victims were directed to comb private morgues within the town, saying information at his disposal had it that some bodies of victims were deposited at a private hospital mortuary.
It was further gathered that the university’s Head of Students Affairs,Professor Lekan Arikewuyo, and the Chief Security Officer, Mr. Rasheed Adekunle, were, early yesterday morning, in search of private morgues were the bodies of the victims of the accident were deposited.

Politics / Barrack Obama: 'same-sex Marriage Is A Victory For America' by megajay1(m): 9:32pm On Jun 27, 2015
The US Supreme Court made same-sex marriage legal throughout the nation Friday in a much-awaited landmark decision that triggered wild jubilation and tears of joy across the country.
In a 5-4 ruling, the highest court in the United States said the Constitution requires all 50 states to carry out and recognize marriages between people of the same sex.

President Barack Obama praised the ruling as “a victory for America.”
The court decision marked a fresh coup for the White House, coming a day after the Supreme Court upheld an important and disputed section of Obama’s signature health care reform.
“Today we can say in no uncertain terms that we’ve made our union a little more perfect,” Obama said at the White House, which was later lit up in the rainbow colors of the gay rights movement.

“This decision affirms what millions of Americans already believe in their hearts — when all Americans are treated as equal, we are all more free.”

The Supreme Court ruling made the United States the 21st country or territory in the world that recognizes same-sex marriage as legal.
Flag-waving LGBT advocates on the packed Supreme Court forecourt — some in tears — cheered, danced, shouted “USA! USA!” and sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” in celebration.

Prominent in the crowd was Jim Obergefell, the lead plaintiff in the case, clutching a photo of his deceased husband John Arthur.
He took a brief phone call from Obama, who told him: “Not only have you been a great example for people but you’re also going to bring about a lasting change in this country.

“And it’s pretty rare where that happens, so I couldn’t be prouder of you and your husband. God bless you.”
Obergefell, who was live on television at the time, replied humbly: “Thank you, sir. That means an incredible amount to me.”

Also in the vast crowd outside court as the life-changing news filtered through were Robert Westover, 51, and Tom Fulton, 57, who hugged and kissed.
“It feels like my birthday, the prom, our wedding day. It’s hard to express the intensity of this moment, that our love now is equal,” Westover told AFP.

The decision was applauded across the country, with Hollywood celebrities such as Katy Perry and Ben Affleck offering praise, while in New York revelers waved rainbow flags and gathered at a famed gay bar to celebrate.

– Dissenting voices –
The case was brought by 14 same-sex couples, and the widowers of two gay couples, including Obergefell, who had challenged de facto bans on same-sex marriage in Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
All four states had insisted in their respective constitutions that marriage could only be a union between a man and a woman.

“The Fourteenth Amendment (providing equal protection under the law) requires a state to license a marriage between two people of the same sex and to recognize a marriage between two people of the same sex when their marriage was lawfully licensed and performed out-of-state,” the court ruling said.

Marriage has been a core institution in society since ancient times, “but it has not stood in isolation from developments in law and society,” reasoned Justice Anthony Kennedy, who delivered the ruling.
To exclude them from marriage, Kennedy said, would deny same-sex couples “the constellation of benefits that the states have linked to marriage.”

Voicing dissent was Chief Justice John Roberts, who expressed concern that the court was making a decision better left to elected state legislatures.
“If you are among the many Americans — of whatever sexual orientation — who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today’s decision,” he said.

“Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal. Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits.
“But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it.”
The decision came two years to the day after the Supreme Court, in another major ruling, struck down a controversial federal law that denied US government benefits to wedded gays and lesbians.

– ‘A tragic error’ –
While some praised the ruling, others were eager to voice disapproval.
The conservative Family Research Council expressed outrage, saying “no court can overturn natural law.”
“Nature and nature’s God, hailed by the signers of our Declaration of Independence as the very source of law, cannot be usurped by the edict of a court, even the United States Supreme Court,” it said.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, whose state has also prohibited same-sex marriage, said the fight going forward was now one of “religious liberty.”

“No court, no law, no rule and no words will change the simple truth that marriage is the union of one man and one woman,” he said in a statement.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops, which champions the Vatican’s opposition to marriage equality, called Friday’s outcome “a tragic error.”
“Jesus Christ, with great love, taught unambiguously that from the beginning marriage is the lifelong union of one man and one woman,” it said.

Politics / Bank Chiefs Calls For Further Devaluation Of Naira by megajay1(m): 2:10pm On Jun 26, 2015
Banks’ chief executive officers have called for further devaluation of the naira and restoration of liquidity to the foreign exchange market.

Key players in the banking and oil and gas sectors have also raised the alarm over the “disappearing” flow of funds into the banking sector as well as another round of fuel scarcity in the country.

The concerns were expressed on Thursday in Lagos at a conference, where the Chief Executive Officers of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Zenith Bank Plc, UBA Plc, Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc, Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc and Oando Plc were panellists.

It was at the CEO roundtable organised by Bloomberg and the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

The Group Managing Director/CEO, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Mr. Bisi Onasanya, said the banks could not support the naira at the present artificial level of less than N200 in the official market, calling for further devaluation of the currency.

He said, “It is not sustainable, and the longer we continue to hold unto this, the more we send signals to the international market that we are not serious as a country.

“There has to be some adjustment in the present level of the naira. There has to be a re-opening of the market for activities to continue in the market otherwise, the economy will be at a standstill.”

The Group Managing Director/CEO of UBA Group, Mr. Phillips Oduoza, who was represented by the bank’s Executive Director, Treasury and International Business, Mr. Femi Olalokun, also indicated that there should be a little bit of adjustment in the currency given the current situation, stressing the need to diversify the economy, broaden the base of income and restore liquidity in the foreign-exchange market.

“I think we need to increase the rate of interest for funds to come in,” he said.

The First Bank boss also said the Nigerian economy was contracting owing to the decline in oil revenue, which account for about 85 per cent of foreign exchange and from which the totality of the country’s import bills are financed.

Noting the decline in the country’s Gross Domestic Product to 3.8 per cent in the first quarter of this year, he said, “This has signalled that the economy is contrasting and mainly as a result of dwindling government revenues.

“So, you can’t take the banking sector out of that equation. I believe very strongly that this will impact deposits in the market, the volume of deposits in the market and the rate at which funds can come into the system.

“Savings rate will slow down. Funds that come into the purses of various states today are barely enough to meet their overheads; 18 states today are defaulting in the payment of salaries.

So what does that tell you? The flow of funds into the banking sector that used to help in accretion of deposits to fund the real sector of the economy has slowed down, if not disappeared.”

Onasanya said he was not surprised that the Central Bank of Nigeria decided to average out the cash reserve requirement between the public and private sector deposits, because in reality, public sector deposits had disappeared from the market.

“The reality is that we have a contracting economy; we have an opportunity, however, to see this as a process to start looking within and rebuilding the Nigerian economy from the basis,” he said.

On his part, the Group Managing Director/CEO, Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Peter Amangbo, said, “The major challenge we are facing now is having the availability of this foreign exchange to foot the country’s import bills.

“When you have challenges like this, what you find is that the issue of confidence comes in.

People are scared, and the next thing you see is panic. Almost everybody has rushed out; everybody wants to buy foreign exchange, and you see quite a lot of backlog that we have in the system now.”

On their part, oil industry players, including the Chairman and Managing Director of Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc, Mr. Adetunji Oyebanji; Chief Executive Officer of Seplat, Mr.

Austin Avuru; and Group Chief Executive, Oando Plc, Mr. Adewale Tinubu, all stressed the need to deregulate the downstream sector of the industry.

Avuru, however, warned that fuel scarcity might resurface in the next three weeks if the government did not have enough money to pay for subsidy.

“We have a little respite now because some people that owe government some money are bringing in ships. In another three weeks, we will be back to scarcity because we simply do not have the money to pay this subsidy and therefore no banks will give these people
money.”

Politics / Naira Depreciates Against Major Currencies by megajay1(m): 12:51pm On Jun 22, 2015
The Naira on Friday at the parallel market depreciated against three international currencies at the close of trading for the week.

A on Friday in Lagos showed that the Naira depreciated by N1 or 0.45 per cent against the dollar due to high demand. It sold for N221 against the dollar from the N220 it sold on Monday, June 15. The Naira also lost N27 to sell at N352 to the pound, representing 8.31 per cent depreciation from the N325 it traded on June 15.

Besides, the Naira against the euro went for N245 compared with the N238 it sold on June 15, representing N7 or 2.97 per cent drop. The Naira against the dollar at Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official rate remained at N196.90, the rate since June 11.

But it fell by N7.96 or 2.61 per cent to the pound, selling for N313.31 from the N305.31 it sold on June 15. The currency also depreciated against the euro to sell for N224.58 compared with the N220.74 it traded on Monday.

A bureau de change operator, Mr Harrison Owoh said that the depreciation in all segments was due to a shortfall between demand and the foreign exchange available for sale. Owoh, who is the Managing Director of HJ Trust Investment Ltd., Lagos, said that a further shortfall in forex supply may lead to further depreciation.

Romance / How To Get A Girl To Chase You by megajay1(m): 4:44am On Dec 29, 2013
How many times have you heard the saying that women like to be chased? While this is true, it is only the case some of the time. The truth is, women enjoy chasing men just as much as the other way around. But how can you learn how to get girls to chase you?

There are some tips you can follow to boost your success, and have the ladies lining up at your door.

1 - Be Aloof, Not Cold

This should always be the first rule, and it is always the one that men get wrong. In an attempt to seem aloof, they instead put of an unapproachable, cold, or even threatening air. Your goal is not to seem as though you don't want to be spoken to. It is to act as though you aren't even thinking about it.

While you should seem above worries of how you appear, or others speaking to you, there should be a casual air to it. Seem cool, confident, and easy going. Think of how someone with that kind of smooth aloofness would act, and imitate it. In simple terms: you want to be the cool guy, not the jerk.

2 - Make Yourself Known

It might seem like the way to go, being the unknown, mysterious man in the corner. That may work in the movies, but women in real life don't tend to go for the brooding type. But someone who seems well known by those at the party or bar, the one who is talking easily with groups of people? He is someone they want to get to know. He is warm, interesting and reassuring.

Try becoming a regular at a club or bar and get friendly with staff. They will toss some perks your way, which will always be enjoyed by those around you. If you are at a party, circulate through the guests and have conversations with everyone. Be that guy that everyone knows, and make an effort to spread yourself out socially through the night.

Constantly talking to people will show women that you are accessible and friendly, while making them curious about who you are. Plus, it introduces you to every woman at the party. Statistically, that improves your odds.

3 - Stand Out From The Crowd

You don't want to look like every Tom, Dick and Harry around you. While that doesn't mean you want to draw too much attention to yourself (there is such a thing as too much), you do want to make yourself stand out. This method of attracting attention is called 'peacocking', and it has many different levels.

Keep things mild, but noticeable. Aim to dress a little bit better than the others who are around you. Make sure you are well groomed, and make special features stand out. Play to your strengths. Maybe add one unusual element that can make you memorable, such as choosing a red shirt instead of a black one.

4 - Always Aim To Be Likeable

This goes back to being the guy people know. You want to go through a social situation not just speaking to people, but getting along with them. Have a couple of cool stories or tidbits to share. Laugh at jokes and be complimentary without going overboard (telling someone they have a great smile is nice, telling them they look sexy is creepy).

Ask yourself along the way if you would like the guy you are being. If the answer is 'no', change your tactics. Be confident and social without being obnoxious. Be flirty and charming without being weird. This might take some practice to get down, but the more you try the better the results will be.

5 - Make Them Feel Special

If you have been doing things right, you probably seem like a pretty in-demand guy. You have been talking to a ton of people, and acted busy through the night. When you are approached, it is time to change tracks. You have caught her interest, now it is time to keep it.

Show her that you are wanting to speak to her. Slow down and focus your attention on her. If she has been watching you, she will have noticed you going from one person to the other. Stopping and giving her your full focus will show that she is special enough to draw it.

What if everything fails, never you loose hope in getting that girl of your dream. follow the link below,

You MUST read these tips first. A sure guarantee to make her fall for you!
