Dear, maybe we should leave the glory of God out of this! what has God's glory got to do with "Guiness" appraisal. I was expecting to read about the numbers of lives that the Church has affected and of spiritual growth. Let's always get the point straight. kiss

Real children of God are more interested in things of the kingdom: John 18: 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

God does not share His glory with any man! And when did a building becoming a thing of glory to God?

Na wa o!
Re: Faith Tabernacle Puts Nigeria In Guinness Book Of World Records by 4Him(m): 7:04pm On Feb 05, 2008
The Jews did not have a temple until Solomon . . . the ark (a symbol of god's presence) was carried on the shoulders of men for decades and YET His glory still followed them.

It is not the building brother built with hands but those built without hands. Christ long departed from the temple.

@4Him, OlowoTee

This is the problem with some Africans - half knowledge and self righteousness! With thess they taught they have all. If this invention is from a white man, they would'nt mind paying their life to go and study how to copyright. Infact that is why some left their country to call somewhere else home.
@OlowoTee
If you want to know how many souls are won to Christ in Faith tabernacle per service, pay a visit there one day. Angels in heaven rejoices at thousands that are saved.
Some people are always angry and selfishly hate to appreciate good things, yet inside they admire it! (double belly!).

@4Him,
I heard you quoted a verse of scripture, please go and learn more, the kind of wisdom that God talks about is the author of witty inventions;

Prov 8:12
"I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions"

But this is the truth, You heard me well, if you have nothing positive to post, or you think you are more holier than the idea, please leave this thread alone. Its not a must for you to comment on everything you see! Peace!

See more wonders!

maybe we should "give God the glory" for all those too.
Re: Faith Tabernacle Puts Nigeria In Guinness Book Of World Records by detruth: 8:42pm On Feb 05, 2008
It shows the beauty and the untapped power of creation that God kept inside man. In the first case, created the whole world out of rubbish (without form and void). If we are truly His, then the whole world is waiting for our manifestaions (Rom. 8:19).
Col 1:27
"To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:"

Nobody is here to praise man, or worship building but just to appreciate God's power that works in us to the manifestations of His creative ability.

Eph 2:10
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Thanks for understanding!

Christianity has ever being known with "good words" but what about "good works"
Good words are you preachings and sermons. But what of good works: making life habitable for fellow men, more creativity and less criticism, not only preaching corruption but living incorruptible. Showing the world that we are the salt for preservation and the light to illuminate (Mat. 5:13,14).
You know what we are without goodworks? Sounding Cymbals!

"good works" is not the same as building giant buildings.
Re: Faith Tabernacle Puts Nigeria In Guinness Book Of World Records by detruth: 10:15am On Feb 06, 2008
Oh I see, those giant buildings are evil works/bad works. Except they credit the findings to you? or attached your name to it findings. I now believe that Faraday, Einstein, Bill Gates etc are all bad, evil, earthly, or (name it) workers. Thank God for Seun (another bad worker! eh? ) Please "Mr. All Knowing" I need to know the defination of good works or else you become an hypocite punching that "evil/bad work" called my evil "my computer" again! lipsrsealed

Please don't let us lose focus of this thread. The guinness book of records is for great achivements, not for anyhow thing. What the poster is calling our attention to is that Nigeria too is now recognised for something great. It may not have been a church, it could have been anything at all, the good thing about it is that it comes from Nigeria.

It was said in the Bible, "Can anything come out of Jerusalem?" But Jesus came out of it. So also something good has come out of Nigeria, let us celebrate it. And knowing quite well that all good things come from God, this achievement is to the Glory of God.

Thanks for the info.
Its heart warming to hear that such a feat can be achieved from this part of the globe.
This great man of God has shown us that with your faith, nothing is too high for you to achieve.
Thank God for giving us such a man of faith.
We expect many mind blowing faith-driven achievements.

I think you should note that we are all God's Mobile House, God doesnt lives in a building, He prefers the little heart of man that the biggest of the earth put together.

I will ask you, how much did this building cost? am sure will run into billions of naira -paid by the offering and tithe of the church members- and the church also have a univeristy it controls, why not make the university less cheaper than any university in the Country?

In what area have the church help the community? only competing for a World Record,

No wonder Jesus says many will ask "we cast out demons in your name,go great mighty things in your name" and he will repply " i know you not"

Stop competing to have world records, compete to make Heaven records!!!!!!!!!

By extra-biblical heresy the people are slowly led astray.
Gen 3: 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Every great achivement you see above will always have man's input (the airbus, road construction, buildings etc). Get this understanding! that God will always use men who make themselves available (not arrogants/critics) or has any man complained to you they forced money out of his/her hands in the place?. People gives money, God gives people (except different in your own case).Take a journey to Otta and ask anybody about  how they started from the little point reconstructing many kms of road in Otta area, aids to students in form of bursary (least is N25,000), even international aids to Tsumanis and Hurricane Katrina victims etc .That is why I thank God for people like Seun Osewa whose effect is felt round the globe. This sincere question we must ask ourselves; in what way have you personally ever affected your life world? What have you in your life for your world? Criticism? Only those who affect their own lives can possibly affect they live. Let's stop thinking like a poor man!

@4Him,
Normally I detest arguing with critics and such whose belief resembles that of a Pharisee.  They crucified Jesus in the first place under the excuse of religion. they thought no one knows better to worship God. Please note! when it is evil, it may be your own "God", but for me (and that of weebee, Bblak, olorrioko, jagunlabi, jintujinta etc, I guess), our God is called the GOOD GOD!
Ps 73:1
Truly God is good, even to such as are of a clean heart.
James 1:17
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from
the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning"
.
3 John 11
"Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good
is of God
: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God"

Thank God you quoted that scripture in Gen 3: 6. It may be hard, but please try and imbibe a teacheable heart of a learner and get understanding!
This is the truth, good is not what you personally see like Eve, good is what God calls good! God never called that tree "good" for them to eat. That is the same mistake Eve commited - self rigtheousness and pride
(Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to
the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did
eat,
and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat)

But look at the experience of Peter with Cornelius
Acts 10:14-15
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
KJV

If Peter had not seen it from God's view, gentiles will never have known Christ. Later on in the chapter Peter agreed and confessed
Acts 10:34-35
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
KJV

This is the truth, my purpose for this thread is to make people see that great and beautiful things can also come out of Jerusalem Nigeria (Africa). To show our generation that before His coming back, we have the ability to put an end to all these hardship and corruptions. We can make this "world" a more beautiful, more habitable place just as it was in the beginning of creation. This is the message of good works!
If you ask many that ran abroad (US/Europe), they went there not because of "good words" but because of "good works". No matter how the whites or land owners treat or maltreat them over there, they "endure"! Why? good works!- good houses, good jobs, good education, good security etc
James 1:17
"Every good gift  and every perfect gift  is from above, and cometh down
from the Father of lights
, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" KJV

That which is good is not as you see it, but as God sees it! Good is judged from above. Stop judging and comdeming based on your own personal views. It can be as poisonous as the forbidden fruit. Peace!

confusion, misrepresentation of the bible, twisting of scripture . . . that is all i read in ur responses detruth.

rather sir, you are the one exhibiting the belief system of the pharisees. these men also called their "God" a good God, they "loved" Jehovah so much that when the messiah came they were too blinded by man-made doctrines to see.
They loved the temple of solomon . . . infact just like you are today the jews were so proud of their own guiness book of records temple: see this . . .

Mark 13: 1 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
Did you notice the apostrophe that brother Mark put after that statement? These guys were jumping and clapping themselves on the back . . . since the temple was "good" it must have been "God" wasnt it?
Notice Christ's reply in verse 2: And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Did you know that one of the charges brought against Christ at His crucifiction was that He allegedly wanted to tear down their guiness book of records temple? Read Mark 14:58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

sir, after the resurrection . . . the Lord left dwelling in temples made with hands . . . it does not matter that they are as big as Nimrods project.

detruth:

Ps 73:1
Truly God is good, even to such as are of a clean heart.

Did the psalmist say God is good even to such as can build him the largest church building on earth? Lazarus was so poor he could get no where near the temple and YET he was found in Abraham's bossom at his death. Does that not tell you something about God's value system and ours?

detruth:

Thank God you quoted that scripture in Gen 3: 6. It may be hard, but please try and imbibe a teacheable heart of a learner and get understanding!

i wish u would do the same. However i dont imbibe a "teachable heart" that tends towards heresy and unbiblical doctrines.

detruth:

This is the truth, good is not what you personally see like Eve, good is what God calls good!

But YOU sir have called your guiness book of records good and thus qualified it to be God. Are you not contradicting urself here?
When did God call a building made with hands good?

detruth:

Acts 10:34-35
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

God is no respecter of PERSONS (not buildings), again do you see the pattern of God's value system?

detruth:

Nigeria don dey bear Jerusalem too? shocked wahala dey o.

detruth:

To show our generation that before His coming back, we have the ability to put an end to all these hardship and corruptions.

you dont put an end to hardship by building the world's largest building. doesnt make economic sense brother.

detruth:

We can make this "world" a more beautiful, more habitable place just as it was in the beginning of creation. This is the message of good works!

this is the message of the prince of this world! This is the message of Christ: Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Pls show me anywhere in your bible where the apostles qualified "good works" as building mighty temples.

detruth:

If you ask many that ran abroad (US/Europe), they went there not because of "good words" but because of "good works". No matter how the whites or land owners treat or maltreat them over there, they "endure"! Why? good works!- good houses, good jobs, good education, good security etc

if all the above were "good works" acceptable unto God, only white people would make heaven.
show me in ur scriptures where God promised us heaven if we built good roads and provided jobs for our neighbours.

detruth:

That which is good is not as you see it, but as God sees it! Good is judged from above. Stop judging and comdeming based on your own personal views. It can be as poisonous as the forbidden fruit. Peace!

Its a pity that some people could see nothing good
in others and wotever other people do. Why?
Its simply becos they cant point to any achievement or contributions
to humanity from anybody surrounding them and i wouldnt be suprised
i f they cant appreciate good deeds from others.
Its sad to know that many people came to this world
to just work, eat, sleep, buy few cloths and shoes, and then die later
without achievement, without impact,
without affecting their generation and generation to come
without anything to show they ever passed through this planet called earth

when you show me the large synagogue Christ built, the schools he set up, his hospitals, cattle, goat, sheep and donkeys in his 33 yrs on earth then i will take you seriously.

I will forever call you heretics out on your extra-biblical twaddle. Show me where Christ said the only way to "affect ur generation" was to build the world's largest church.
Show me where "achievement and impact" in a biblical sense is dependent on how many times you appear in the guiness book of records.

Paul had nothing, ditto for Peter . . . Christ at one point had to borrow a colt to ride to Jerusalem, he borrowed a grave to be buried in and YET for the last 2000yrs He remains the most important personality that ever lived.
Elisha and Elijah were itinerant prophets yet they made kings like Ahab to tremble.
Moses had a speech impediment YET God mightily used him to bring out the Jews from Egypt.

How has a building "influenced our generation"? Has it made more christians out of the people in Lagos? Where are the miracles, signs and wonders? Where is the word that convicted hearts like that of the dying Stephen?
Where are the godly examples like those of Paul and Peter?
How many of our political office holders attend church and still go back to loot our nation blind?
Where is the old anointing? where are the people who speak in tongues? where is the healings? where are the dead raised to life? Where are the widows comforted and the fatherless children given hope?

No wonder Christ said . . . when He shall return will He find faith on earth?
