I am not a fan of either club, am Chelsea and i love the Blues. I am just wondering how you define a big club. When you ask Ronaldo why he is moving to Madrid, he will tell you he is joining a big club. My argument; in what way(s) is Real bigger than Man U? Real has been dull in Europe for years, i can't remember the last time they made it to Quarter Finals of the Champion league. How are they bigger than Man U. that only lost a match (against Barca - Rome Final) in two champion league seasons and has been defending the Premier league for three consecutive seasons (i.e. they are equally good at home), not to mention the fact that they are the current holder of the FIFA World Football Club's Trophy. Do you measure a big club by the number of Trophy they have won or their fat account (and ofcourse United are equally rich)? Please i need constructive argument here, cause i still cant fashion how Madrid is bigger than the Red Devil.

Am not sure what your criteria were, but if one considers success both on and off the pitch, I dont see how bayern or liverpool comes ahead of ManU (Barca i would have to give more thought). Off the pitch, Man U is second only to Real Madrid. On the pitch, lets deal with liverpool first. Both teams have won 18 domestic ttile, with ManU winning 11 in the past 16 seasons, and Liverpool not winning any for almost 20yrs. I will give domestic success to man U In europe, man u has won 3 titles, (2 in the last 10 yrs) while liverpool have won 5 (1 in the last 25 yrs). I personally don't reckon with UEFA cup, or cup winners cup, as entry into it means you were second best to someone else domestically, and winning it doesnt make you any better than someone that failed to win the champions league, as the competitors are different. I would call european success even. So I dont see how liverpool comes ahead of man u, unless you are simply counting european titles irrespective of when it was won.

Man Utd are the biggest club in the world. Football clubs are measured by their success, fan base, worth in value, etc. In my opinion: Man Utd Real Madrid AC Milan Liverpool Barcelona

Rubbish Sharon! Real Madrid is the biggest!!!!! Manchester United have been rated the eighth most valuable sports brand in the world in a new study which for the first time has assessed the comparative worths of 200 brands across the sporting spectrum. Brands from the United States head the list compiled by SportsPro magazine, with the National Football League's value of $4.5bn (£2.75bn) ranking it No1, ahead of Major League Baseball ($3.936bn), and the National Basketball Association ($2.344bn). United are valued at $1.495bn, three places and £200m behind the Fifa World Cup, worth $1.7bn. While the $1.55bn-valued Ferrari is the top-ranked team, a place ahead of United, the Premier League champions are ahead of formula one ($1.45bn), which is ninth, the $1.1bn Champions League (13th), and Real Madrid, worth $1.073bn in 14th place.Arsenal is the next highest English club in 21st, with a value of $910m, six places above Liverpool ($801m). Chelsea's $634m pushes into 55th.

Sharon, anything for you to win a debate especially if it involves your own very favourites! Hehehehehehehehe The 2 clubs have HISTORY and they have been very successful on/off-pitch!!! It's pointless counting titles on who has won more as La Liga is different to the EPL. United have had to battle 3 BIG TEAMS in the EPL while Real Madrid only need to worry about Barcelona. A bad start for Barcelona guarantees a domestic title for Real Madrid. In the EPL, even if Chelsea cop a bad start, United still have to worry about Liverpool and Arsenal. Winning the EPL is 3 times more difficult than winning La Liga.

Sauron is obviously suffering from acute fanboism. What history does ManU have compared to the most successful club of the 20th century? In terms of success, Madrid has won more titles than ManU in both the domestic and international arena. Even in value, manU is valued at $1.87B with a 54% debt/value ratio and a revenue $512M while Madrid is valued $1.353B with a 23% and a revenue of $576M. Thus Madrid makes more money than manu, and after accounting for debt, Madrid is worth more than ManU ($1.04B vs $860M) (source: Forbes) Sauron would rather make a judgement based on a ranking that excluded clubs like real madrid because they could not be acquired as properties Only a ManU fanboy would ever dream of manu being bigger than madrid, and even then, he should wake up and apologize

So I dont see how liverpool comes ahead of man u, unless you are simply counting european titles irrespective of when it was won. European titles are what count here to me not your off the field razzmatazz. Cos you can begin to bring other variables like finest jerseys, biggest stadium. Off the field I would include the caliber of players who have played for the club. A club that has legends in their history should not be played with. In this regards Real Madrid- Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo, AC Milan Weah, Van Basten, Maldini Barcelona Romario, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho Bayern Munich - Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller, Papin, Matthaus and Rummenigge come tops Think about it, CR7 is about the biggest player to have ever played for Man Utd Champions league success regardless of when won makes the difference. Italy has 4 world cups right? 2 pre world war. What do you say about that? Do you remove those pre war trophies? Imagine How can any sane person tell us Man Utd has any form of history? Having any form of discussion is useless For a club whose best ever players are Cantona and Ronaldo

Sauron is obviously suffering from acute fanboism. What history does ManU have compared to the most successful club of the 20th century?
The Busby babes on it's own is HISTORY. . . . . . . In terms of success, Madrid has won more titles than ManU in both the domestic and international arena.
Is Celtic bigger than Man Utd despite their long haul of titles in little Scotland? They have claimed 42 league titles, it means Celtic are better than Madrid and Barcelona? Are u guys fickle? Even in value, manU is valued at $1.87B with a 54% debt/value ratio and a revenue $512M while Madrid is valued $1.353B with a 23% and a revenue of $576M. We all know why Madrid's revenue is more. . . . . . .United can top that if they break away from their domestic TV deal tied to the FA. Only amateurs talk about debt. . . . .We are talking about value and the global brand. Man Utd's worth in assets is more than Real Madrid. Forget the debt. . . . .The debt won't be removed from the assets in one go. Sauron would rather make a judgement based on a ranking that excluded clubs like real madrid because they could not be acquired as properties Only a ManU fanboy would ever dream of manu being bigger than madrid, and even then, he should wake up and apologize The ranking included Real Madrid. . . . . . . .Go back to the article i posted earlier. And to the goat saying Ronaldo and Cantona are the best players to have played for United, what a pity!!! People who brand themselves experts in footie pundits have shown they are the most retarded beings here. George Best, Dennis Law and Bobby Charlton have all won Ballon d'Or and a mentally-deranged Dayokanu still think Cantona is United's biggest player. Players from Man Utd have even won the Ballon d'Or more than players from Bayern Munich so what are we talking about here. Must u goof to SURVIVE?

@dayokanu Following your world cup example, Uruguay is then a bigger team than France, England or Netherlands? The time you won the trophy matters, else we would say Nottingham forest (who just recently got back to the english championship from L1) is a bigger club than Arsenal, PSV, Marseille, Valencia, Borussia Dortmund etc

Netherlands have not won any world cup so they dont count.
Uruguay is bigger in the world cup than England or France
Bayern Munich players won in 1970, 1972, 1976, 1980 and 1981
Bayern Munich players were second in 1972, 74, 75, 79, 81, 1995,
Tell me years Man Utd players won

Biina, When we are discussing CL winner we can never mention Arsenal or Valencia. If Arsenal doesnt win a trophy.
In the next 50 years who would remember they used to be a contender? Who remembers Borrousia Mochengladbach?
So cos Real Madrid has not been doing well recently means Chelsea and Arsenal are better than them?
