Should Wenger Be Sacked?
« on: July 05, 2009, 11:54 PM »

I am a true and proud Gunner. But I am not happy with 5 barren years of football,
We are definitely not title contenders for next season, based on whats on ground. I am genuinely pissed. I cant imagine being mocked for the 5th year in a roll. I think Arsenal need to buy and sack wenger. go get riikard or a beautiful football playing manager, with emphasis on short time and immediate result.

so I ask.
Do u think Wenger's youth experiment has failed?
Do u think that Wenger should be sacked?

That does not dispute the fact that he plays a unique style of football which cannot be found amongst other so called elites including chelski man utd and ac milan.

Good football but now we need trophies. Wenger is still a great manager, we just need a fresh breadth.

Which unique style?

How is how is the style different from what Ajax played in 1995 with kids and won the CL?

How is the style different from what Barca played and won 2 CL?

Wenger is a failure

Wenger is a failure

Far from it, Wenger is not a failure.

success or failure in football is measured on the basis of resources to result. Man utd, Liverpool and chelski have spent blindly and are heavily in debt, so whatever amount of success they have achieved is worth it, based on the amount of money spent.

Arsenal has spent nothing compared to these other three, so when u compare resources with results Wenger has indeed done well.
But from a fans point of view we need immediate tropjies, which can only come when more resources are dispensed.

who plays better football in europe?

Oh please noetic spare us!
Success in modern football is TROPHIES. . .nobody gives a damn about how you play.
Arsenal has always been and will always be the "beautiful losers"

P.S: who would have thought you love football. . . . .didn't see that one coming.

@noetic2,
your arguement is like fighting oneself. with all the points and reasons that u highlighted above, wenger deserves your respect and not the question raised by this topic. he lacks resources, he plays beautiful football and he is not incuring debt for the club so what else do u want? u can't be here and there the same time.
wenger to me will look for something else to do after his job at arsenal because that is the only club that can be this patient. meanwhile, wenger and the club owners are not interested in trophies in the next ten years because they are out to buy and sale and make the profit they want.
we must understand that if the so called wenger beautiful football is all what football is all about, every coach will be at ease and 99% of professional footballers can move the ball arround the picth like arsenal without ambition.

far from it. my position is simple.

wenger is a great manager, but we need short term results. . .we need TROPHIES now,  . . .and if that means sacking wenger and getting a manager with a short term approach then so be it.

My brother noetic? Your approach to this issue is strikingly similar to the approach of A*****a on the *e*****n message board.

Of all people, don't you think the manager is the one most concerned about trophies. Do you think Arsene sits on his high horse and doesn't know what to do?

As a proud gooner I remember us going for longer than 4 seasons without a trophy so all this talk of no trophy doesn't really hold water.

Quoting Wenger "When you are used to eating Caviar, it takes some time to get used to sussages"

We've set solid foundations for the team, and once the right balance (not drastic) action is attained, the team will  where they truly deserve to be. . . THE TOP

Short term measures are not enough. . . it's like building your house on the sand!

You all are deceiving yourselves, with Wengers current mentality and approach you guys aint winning nadah

mark my words, you will surely support wenger when the likes of mancity, everton and aston villa takes your

place in the table (4th) and still end up trophyless but wait a minute, the emirates cup is a lil realistic, that is how low

most arsenal fans expectation and demand has become. smh

I can almost say Chelski but then I realise it took them two seasons to buy the league for two years. . . besides Mourinho only continued where Ranieri left off. . . do you think Mourinho could win the FA Cup with Portsmouth. . . food for thought. . . Thinkin about sand I'd say Blackburn Rovers (in the 90's), Leeds Utd (of League 1 fame now I presume), and Newcastle Utd (over bloated signings). Some easy weather followers might try to say Citeh but they've got a decent team and so they are essentially strengthening!

Only one team can finish fourth. . . you are not even sure if it will be Man City, Everton or Villa. . . in my book I think only Everton has a realistic chance of doing that any time soon.

Most people that scorn the Emirates Cup fail to realise that it's simply a warm up tournament in pre-season designed to generate additional match day revenue, get the fans going for the new season providing them with a taste of some of the finest clubs in Europe. . . besides, we didn't even win it last year.

FYI it was Adebayors actions in the "meaningless cup" after scoring a "meaningless'" penalty against (a full strength) Real Madrid side that got the fans going against him in the first place.
