A government official says a second explosion has struck near a church in Nigeria, this time targeting a church in the restive central Nigerian city of Jos.

Ayuba said he didn't have any other details about the blast and did not know the cause of the explosion.

The blast comes after another explosion in a town near Nigeria's capital killed at least 10 people and wounded others.

There was no immediately claim of responsibility for either explosion, but Nigeria has suffered a wave of sectarian attacks blamed on a radical Muslim sect known as Boko Haram.

it was not a blast but a gun shot from a mopol who was responding to a threat by some hundloms to snatch his rifle. the incident occurred near mountain of fire around British American junction. believe me am there right now.

Why are we surprised? D guys promised to attack on xmas day and they did, Guess d muslims will be jubilating now. My pain is that, when d security unleash terror on them, they will say it is a fight against Islam. It is sure difficult to really separate Islam from violence. So sad.

There is great difference between gun shot and explosion. the news is saying explosion. we need to be cleared

"Hotline ko hotline ni", If the President's phone line was mes.sing up during the Presidential Media Chat, tell me if the hotline will work.
What will be the response time? What are the assurances that the person who did the tip-off will be safe afterwards, and many more.

We need to fix the mared system, and we must do that very fast.
