Pls. Come with your money to the US, even if you are going to stay with your parent or relation, because they can wakeup one day and ask you to leave, lts no joke. For family people with two children or more leave your family behind and come first accept you have up to $4000 on you to pay six months rent or you and your family will regret why you came to the US everybody here is crazy remember,Americans do not keep people in their homes. If not that I had money on me, i and my family would have been outside by now but thank God we got a one bedroom apartment in Dallas. Merry Christmas and Happy new year in advance as you join us in the United States of America to fulfill your dreams, thanks and God bless you all. Prince reporting from Dallas Texas.

@Kennex89: Please kindly go with all your documents though it is not required because you are a derivative but it is necessary any of those counselors can ask for it, what is mandatory and compulsorily required is that of your wife. I don’t think it will hurt if you carry it along. Hope this helps Prince from CA.

Congratulation to all the 2014 winners and those whose visas have been approved. As for those yet to go for interview please remember that truth is preferred to lie.to all who will be travelling through Dubai be careful and ask questions so that you don’t miss your flight, we have three (3) hours’ time difference with Dubai. I left Nigeria on the 28th October and arrived Los Angeles International Airport at exactly 2:15 American time. I am still waiting for my social security number (SSN) and green card (GC). Please make sure you use trusted address for your papers if not you will regret why you came to America. You can enter from any port of entry (POE). Good news for the married people, It is not compulsory that you must enter from the same port with your family, for example I entered through LAX on the 28th Oct and my family arrived through BWC Dallas, but the DV1 must enter first. I will try my best from time to time to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. Bear it in mind that if you come here you are coming to start from afresh that is if you want to earn good money excerpt you want to die in civil service. @Roodboy: this Poem is for you, Enjoy!!!

At night you lie awake,
the covers pulled up tight.
A noise outside your window,
leaves you in a state of fright.
What frightens you, what do you fear,
what holds your heartbeat still.
Ghosts, monsters or other forces,
is this what they instill?
It's not the lack of sleep you fear
it's what is coming next!

Congratulation Roodboy, i was very happy when Junkerhill called me from Lagos to give me the news. go live your American dream my brother, the party rice go dey ready by December see you in the US of A.

@VisaOfficer: 2. If a tout filled out your application for you and is trying to make you pay, SHAME ON THAT PERSON. You can check your own status without paying anyone through www.dvlottery.state.gov . Unfortunately, if you have lost your confirmation number or the tout won't give it to you, there is no way to check your status. That's why it's so important to keep your confirmation number.

My dear visa officer, you are wrong. You can check and retrieve your confirmation number on the same site by clicking on forgot confirmation check the site again that is one of the new developments on the website to help applicants, I tried it and it worked.

My interview:
Got up at 3, did some good praising and worship and prayer. Needed it
Got there at about past 5, at 6 they began the regular checks, the whole time I was singing and reminding my FATHER under my breath that it's HIS turn oh, to do what we have been talking about.
Anyways I was called at about past 10 and here is how it went
Me: good morning sir
CO: morning
CO: please sign these forms here
CO: do you swear to say the truth...
Me: I swear
CO: are you so and so?
Me: yes sir
CO: why did you apply for the programme?
Me: because I felt it offered a better opportunity for schooling and work and to further better yourself then I mumbled a bit
CO: nodding, are you travelling with your wife?
Me: wife?? I'm not married!!
CO: never been married? No kids?
Me: no, no, no
Co: have you been to the US before?
Me: yes, once
Co: what purposes?
Me: j1 visa, work and study sponsored by my school and cieee
Co: where did you stay?
Me: Montana
Co: surprised.
Co: nods. Ok. What were you doing?
Me: worked at McDonald's
Co: did you like the food?
Me: free food never tastes bad
Co: laughs.
Then I tell him about some of the places I visited. While I was talking he was returning my original documents and approving my visa
All this took less than 3 minutes oh.
Meanwhile, when I came he was the co I was trying to avoid, he turned out to be really pleasant! I give GOD all the glory cos it's not cos we deserve anything more than the other but HIS mercies!
TX loading yo!

@Chuck87: Congratulation, we will meet in TX some day. Hope our party will still hold? Hahaha go live your American dream my dear.

@Rotexmo: Good evening everybody....Please I rescheduled my interview cos permission to attend was not approved at my place of work.....The interview was meant to take place yesterday and i rescheduled on Monday.....This was the reply i got from the embassy:

'Thank you for your email. All slots are now filled and we are unable to accommodate your request for a change of date.

Sincerely'

Please is there anything else that can be done or i just screwed up the opportunity...note that it will be my first time of rescheduling.

Regards

If you ask me, I think you don’t need the visa. What permission at work place are you talking about? If you don’t go to work that particular day what will happen?l call this wasted effort. You have answered the question yourself, “I just screwed up the opportunity” big time.

@keygee1977: I have tried the site. ..it gives only the option of Immigrant Visa and Non Immigrant Visa...I chose Immigrant Visa becausw there was none for diversity visa and logged in my case number as requested but it kept saying invalid case number...i need a reply. Thank you.

No need for tracking if during your interview your visa was approved, and it is up to 7 to 10 days kindly go to DHL office at Muri K. Victoria Island and get your visa. I did my interview on the 10th of July and on the 19th I picked up my visa and that of my family. Tracking will deceive you; don’t forget that the center returns unclaimed visa back to the embassy after 30 days.

Please kindly take note: Unfortunately, we all made the same mistake but in the real sense during my interview I came to understand that the only petitioner in a DV case is the US government.

Well, the medical physical examination involves question with respect to your health, except she tells the doctor because the doctor will definitely ask her, I don’t know if she included her child. Remember, truth is preferred.

As for the hotel close to embassy, veterans will help.
Stay blessed bro!

Please if you are going for medical, assuming you are two persons go with 60k to be on the safe side. @abiodunraufu: How will 2014 selectees be informed about their interview dates?
What are the chances of my 53-year old brother who is a 2014 selectee? He is a lawyer with master's degree and he is married with four kids. Will his age count against him during the visa interview?

1.Through the same way they saw they won and checking when their case number is current by observing the visa bulletin 15th of every month.

2.No, his age will not count against him. I don’t think there is any age limit, did your brother include his wife and children?

anjolaoluwadv13: Good day to all forumites, have been really blessed by all the experiences shared on this great forum may the Lord bless each and everyone of you in return. My interview is scheduled for 2nd of August, just want to know if anyone as same date with me on this forum.I have one or two questions i needed answers to;(1)When and how do we book for medical appoints at Children Practice Hospital? (2) I was single when i applied for the lottery but got married two months before the result of the lottery,am now pregnant and would be due in September, hope they don't put couple in this situation on AP until they deliver for proper check if the marriage is authentic or not?
Thank you, your response will be highly appreciated.

Hello house, have not seen any response as regards my questions,it seems you only respond to the questions of forumites you are use to.Just to let you know i would not also respond to anyone that ask for my interview experience come August 2nd,LMAO!Just joking.Need answers plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

@anjolaoluwasv13:

1.You don’t need to book for medicals, when you are ready just get there before 8am and write your name you will be attended to soonest they start.

2.No problem about that, thank God you are pregnant now that will reduce the suspicion, but you must prove also that you are really married to the man you calm to be your husband by answering some important questions from the CO, you will not be put on AP if you prove your marriage beyond reasonable doubt.

Hope this helps

The principal applicant can still go for his/her interview but you must go with the following:

1. Death Certificate of the beneficiary which shows cause of death
2. Birth Certificate of beneficiary to verify date of birth as contained in the original entry
3. Photo’s of the beneficiary to show relationship while alive with the principal applicant
4. And if the beneficiary has been buried photo’s of the burial ceremony.

CONSULTANT PRACTICE AGAIN, ANOTHER HUMAN ERROR.

@House, consultant practice again before it was Amedino1’s medical expiration date, now they have lost my daughter’s photocopies of international passport data page, immunization records and two passport photo's, can you imagine that? This is what I call carelessness of the highest order. I think they have made enough money this time around because we have encouraged people to go there, may be if we change to Q-life they will sit-up and take their job serious.
