Away from the cacophony, white noise and exaggeration on SM, facts still point to culpability of the NA led to death of certain individuals at the toll gate.

But I guess you choose what to believe.

Funny some of you on this thread may even turn out worse than the current tyrant in Aso Rock if you were in power.

A significant number of protesters came with guns. This was carried all over SM as well. Videos I personally saw showed the Army firing blank bullets.
If ENDSARS is going to prevent us getting US weapons, all wheel and good. Hopefully bandits get empowered and start on the fine boys and girls in the cities who make up the bulk of EndSARS. The point at which Nigeria is now, people should start suffering consequences of their actions immediately. Maybe brains will reset.

It's not about the number of the dead. I don't know why we keep defending things aimlessly.
Was the Nigerian Army at the toll gate? Yes.
Were protesters shot and injured? Yes.
Did we lose at least a Nigerian citizen to a Nigerian army bullet? Yes.
Case closed.
Firstly, the Nigerian army wasn't supposed to be there. I don't know if there was any official invitation by the government.
The Nigerian army wasn't supposed to shoot live rounds on its citizens or at any target cos it wasn't a violent protest. The Nigerian army wasn't shot at or assaulted. This is a total breach of the Nigerian army rules of engagement and international laws guiding human rights.

Hushpuppi Narrates How He Bribed Nigerian Top Cop Abba Kyari In $1.1m Deal

Ramon ‘Hushpuppi’ Abbas, the infamous Nigerian fraudster who recently pleaded guilty in the United States, has narrated how he bribed Nigeria’s celebrated police chief Abba Kyari, court documents seen by Peoples Gazette said.

Federal authorities in the U.S. have been investigating Mr Abbas and his co-conspirators after their syndicate was busted in Dubai, New York and other top cities last June. Officials said in court filings that Mr Abbas disclosed during interrogation that he paid bribes to Mr Kyari, a deputy police commissioner, to have one of his rivals arrested and jailed in Nigeria following a dispute over a $1.1 million dupe of a Qatari businessperson.

Mr Kyari did not immediately return calls and messages seeking his response to Mr Abbas’ claims when reached by The Gazette on Thursday morning.

Mr Abbas asked Mr Kyari to arrest and jail a fellow fraudster Kelly Chibuzor Vincent after both were locked in a dispute presumably over how to share the $1.1 million loot received from the Qatari businessperson. Mr Vincent subsequently contacted the victim and informed them that they were being scammed by a syndicate involving him and Mr Abbas.

This elicited anger from Mr Abbas, who contacted Mr Kyari to arrest and jail his rival over the dispute. Mr Abbas said Mr Kyari sent pictures of Mr Vincent in jail and subsequently sent his bank account number to Mr Abbas to which a wire transfer should be made having done a good job as sent by Mr Abbas.

“Court documents outline a dispute among members of the conspiracy, which allegedly prompted Vincent to contact the victim and claim that Abbas and Juma were engaged in fraud. After this contact, Abbas allegedly arranged to have Vincent jailed in Nigeria by Abba Alhaji Kyari, 46, of Nigeria.

“According to the affidavit, Kyari is a highly decorated deputy commissioner of the Nigeria Police Force who is alleged to have arranged for Vincent to be arrested and jailed at Abbas’ behest, and then sent Abbas photographs of Vincent after his arrest. Kyari also allegedly sent Abbas bank account details for an account into which Abbas could deposit payment for Vincent’s arrest and imprisonment,” U.S. Justice department said in a statement.

After the $1.1 million fraud was successful, Mr Abbas spent $230,000 on a watch and also bribed officials at St. Kitts and Nevis for his citizenship of that island country.

According to the Lagos State governor(Who once denied there was no killings), he said two people died after the attack. Amnesty international said at least 12 people died after the attack.

I watch the video by DJ switch, and I saw people with gun shot injuries and she said in that video that Soldiers and Policemen were aiming directly at the armless protesters.

The Nigerian army denied there men was at the venue for days without even carrying out any investigation. They later agreed their men were there but didn't shoot at any civilian.

Well, the lekki toll gate shooting is one of the numerous reason we might not be able to buy weapons that's worth close to a billion dollars from the USA.

Really? Imagine you are a tenant. Your landlord tries to evict you without notice. He brings policemen to evict you. Does it make sense?
Same thing here. You can't carry an arrest just like that. It is unprofessional. This is why politicians will use the police on innocent Nigerians and nothing will happen cos we are oblivious of our rights. You can't carry an arrest without a warrant.

Look at it this way, the going fellow are armed and looking for who to test it on,then the get this tribalistic idea that the north is against them and then boom they start attacking the northeners, the media now comes in to report what they are being told then the other side gets agitated and goes on their own rampage. Guess what just happened, they just shook the balance of the Nigeria state security system.

That's how you people will keep defending evil till it touches your family members. Don't know what Nigerians gain in being dishonest.
That was how Jumoke a petty hawker was killed by police bullets in the Odua protest, only for the police to deny it that she was killed by protesters citing her injury was a stab wound which forensics later showed she was shot only for same police to shamelessly charge some arrested protesters for shooting a girl they initially claimed was stabbed. That was how Shiites were killed and buried in mass grave yet some of you deny this fact. The Lekki incident was covered live on Instagram with over 140k watching yet you still deny the obvious.
Continue defending the indefensible e go soon touch you.

Was the Nigeria army at lekki? Yes.
Was shot fired? Yes.
What kind of bullet was fired? Blank
We're protesters injured? Yes due to the scrambling for their defined safety.
Did we lose a Nigeria citizen to the bullet of the army? Can't ascertain that, cos it has not been proven.
There was an official invitation from the state government to the army asking them to assist them ensure that the curfew was adhere to.
The protest at lekki was not turning violent but the army has a job to do which is disperse the crowd. The didn't shoot live round cos if they did,I promise you blood will flow like water at the toll with the amount of people there and the closeness of the soldiers to the protesters.

The Nigerian military is overstretched with tasks they are not supposed to do - providing public security is one of them. Riot control for example should be handled exclusively by the police who are trained and mandated for this task. There are certain situations were the support of the army could be necessary but this should always be exceptional and not the routine as it is at the moment.

The reason why the military is so present in public spaces has to do with decades of military rule where the Police was mistrusted, disarmed and crippled by fine gentleman like Buhari to the point were the NPF became almost dysfunctional. The results of decades of decay of the NPF left visible scars in the Nigerian society where ordinary people can barely distinguish between criminals and criminals in uniform.

Building up a Police service that "serves" its citizen and performs professional in all aspects needs financial investment and willing to reform /restructure the current NPF from head to toe.
