Gracias.
Regarding cost it living in Canada, do u think $300 will sustain me in Canada for a month?
Better still, how much is your monthly expenses in Canada in term of food, accommodation, transportation, data, electricity and water?

Haha. Sorry, I'm laughing, is not actually lug but just putting yourself in my shoes. you can use another person's lifestyle to judge yourself but can use it as a benchmark. Now, I may be the type that eats once a day while you must eat 3 times or more a day. in that case, can you use me to plan yourself? No.

for accommodation, I can decide to go for CAD$550/month, but you cant because of your personality. LOL.

Note that some accommodation fee is inclusive of internet + electricity and other things while some, is not inclusive.

So, I just gave you the list of the minimum wage, use it and do the maths as you know the province you're going to, your lifestyle and all that.

One more thing, please. Should I request my transcript first from my university before applying to schools or after I sent in an application to my desired school?

Thanks.

Hi Ketima,

I understand where you’re coming from but you also have try to put yourself in his shoes. He said he got the ppr but was pained because his admission had already expired. Please he was pained. You don’t know if it’s just this week he could pick himself up from that pain and forge ahead. Saying this from a good place, please do not get upset with my response.

Hello Maypearl,

Nooo, how would I get upset with my fellow brothers and sisters? we're one here. our duty here is to help one another and that we will be doing. we may have contradictory views but still, we are one with one purpose ( Study and live in Canada). if frankrobbn and Justwise could have time to respond to my emails when I was doing mine, who I'm I not to give back to the family. is just a thing of conscience. But let it go ok. we have moved on from it.

Good afternoon all, with all due respect, I will first of all apologise for the commotion I caused here this morning. To be sincere, I got thrown aback and was wondering what I did wrong to receive all these reprimand. But I thought I appreciated everybody's effort in my first sentence and went on to make a humble request but probably I missed something, pardon me.

To be frank, I got to know about this trend on Nairaland only mid last month, this is 4 months after I submitted my application to IRCC. I'm not saying I know it all, definitely people helped me, I asked questions and I can tell you, I went back to appreciate them immensely.

I understand where you're coming from, on giving back, which I sincerely wouldn't have failed to do if I was part of this thread on Nairaland all this while. In fact I think it could have even shorten the time it took me to apply, cus it took me so so long to gather myself and documents in applying for the study visa, probably that caused my late PPR request, which eventually means I will have to wait 1 year more. God knows best.

I was asking myself, but what will I gain to hoard information to myself, if someone needed it. Do you know, I'm just getting to know I'm to send a timeline, or whatever you called it? Please you people shouldn't crucify me.

So many have said thier mind and one classified me as the problem of Nigeria but I take no offence, I understand perfectly their submissions. That aside, thank you @Ketima and @viviangogos for providing the answer I needed, also others that responded to rescue me out in the derision. Me I no like fight ooo...lolz. But for real, thanks to all well-meaning Nigerians over the globe.

I want to sincerely appreciate the "gurus" in the house and everybody who has been actively helping others, for their selfless contribution to this community. I am a strong believer of community and giving back, I have in the past started a coupled Alumni reunion and give back movement of my previous educational institution, of which some are still active. So, I may not have all the knowledge and time, but when the opportunity comes, I will not hesitate to contribute my quota here. That's my humble response.

Thank you all for listening and understanding.

So with the timeline, I don't know if this is what it is:
18th June, 2021 - All documents submitted on IRCC
21std June, 2021 - Biometric capturing
13th October, 2021 - Medical exams
26th October, 2021 - PPR request

What did I do specially? I sincerely can't really tell, I applied and submitted all required document, paid application fee and waited. Truly it was really a long, seemingly hopeless one until God remembered me. I did't know anything about raising webforms or doing anything special, but I gave it my best during the application, with major guidance from a friend's brother who went to Canada last year December. The rest is history and God's mighty help.

In conclusion, I sincerely wish everyone about to start the process, or in the process or still awaiting response, all the very best. It will end in joy, you too will rejoice and thank God.

Peace.

Ketima:

First, let me state that it was so wrong of you that you got PPR and you never cared to come to share in the group that helped you so that others can learn and see how and what you did differently. you only come back cos you need help from the same group again. nevertheless, the group will always be there for each other.

Now to your question, Since the school has said you can apply for a new application for fall 2022, I think you may have a chance of securing admission since you did for the first time. if you secure admission since in the same DLI and same course all you need is to update IRCC and inform them of the new LOA (via mail and webform). But if you should apply to another DLI and get a new LOA, you will start your visa application from scratch again as stated by IRCC ( so long as the change of DLI was from outside Canada).

my opinion though

wait for gurus to guide you propoerly.

To whom it may concern,

I have seen posts here from people who don't know how to start writing their SOP or how to go about reapplying.

I, too, was only successful on my second attempt, so I figured I would share my SOP.
Of course, no 2 cases are the same, but it may guide somebody here on how to go about writing theirs.

Note I applied for a graduate certificate after completing a Master's.
Completed Bachelors in 2013, Masters in 2016, then applied for a Graduate certificate to start in 2020.

I will answer any questions directed at me if I can.

See attached the redacted version of my SOP.

Hello Grazat2021,

I have waited for you to reply for me to reply mine, don't feel bad if I sounded harsh, in the real sense I wasn't trying to be harsh. you're most welcome to the family. together here, we help each other tackles issues to the best of our knowledge and let God do the rest.

Back to your issues, when you were given admission, were you communicating with your departmental academic advisor? I would advise you to get close to him or her and find out a lot from him or her.

A tip from my own, I have chatted with mine to the point, when she is now replying to my mail, her greetings now go this way, "Hello Ketima again lol". so try to report such to the department and seek their opinion of getting admission the 2nd time ( if you haven't) because if you apply to a new DLI, it means beginning the visa application process again which I know you wouldn't want to.

Hello House

Of recent, we have been having complaints of this particular Visa Officer (AH03849), of how he/she refuses applications for no just reasons.. I do not wanna believe this Visa Officer is all about refusals, so I want us to do our home work as regards his/her operation and it will take our cooperation here to achieve this..

Now, this goes to the applicants here that were approved, and this will be like a give back from you to the thread that has helped you get your Visa. Now please order for your GCMS notes and when its ready share with us on this thread, let us see if this is the same Visa Officer(AH03849) that approved your application or not...

With this, we will also know if this particular Visa Officer is in charge of Nigerian applicants.. I know the approved applicants will say what is the point of ordering my GCMS notes when I have already gotten my Visa, please note you are doing the good of this thread that has blessed you with so much information prior to the time you got your Visa..

On behalf of this thread, I appeal to the approved applicants here to order for their GCMS notes, so we can carry this survey on the operation of this particular Visa Offier..

I know these Officers are watching us here, so let us make a point..

Peace

I applied for my Gcms notes on 25th Oct and got ppr on the 28th Oct. Still awaiting the notes. So I will share once received. It should have details about the approval. I believe the VO being quoted may just be a senior VO that must sign off any decision to refuse.

Hello guys, thanks for this amazing thread.
I am new to the process and have no one to guide me.
I will apply for the study permit this week and have some concerns. My immediate family abroad will be my main sponsor, I don't have any funds for now. Will it be enough for them to upload their Bank Statement in my application? Or send the money into my account. I am hearing the Canadian officers do not like to see sudden deposits of lump sums into a person's account.

I am sorry, I will be asking things you guys have already answered in the past, but the thread is so lengthy (a testament to how kind you all are on here), it's so lengthy that I don't know where to find answers to my personal questions.

I will be coming with more and more questions over the next couple of weeks.

I thank you guys, happy new month and may our prayers be answered, amen.

As regard the bolded,

Refer to this post

PG. Cert in Accounting and related programs
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/247#103188415

Be sure a PG.CERT in Accounting is the right program for you before you apply.

If your work experience is not in anyway related to your Accounting degree, you are expected to go for a PG.CERT program related to the Job you are doing. E.g. A Microbiology grad. with 5-years work experience in the banking industry going for a PG.CERT in a Microbiology related program, there is no CAREER PROGRESSION in that, and that can bring about a RED FLAG on a CANADA STUDY VISA APPLICATION, such applicant is expected to go for a BANKING related PG.CERT program.

Hi, I have a degree in Microbiology and a work experience in customer service representative and real estate freelancer. Graduated 2015 with a 2:1. Due to the study gap and work experience should I go for masters degree program or a PGD?

I wanted to go for Masters in Business Administration but I do not have experience in that field, and reading from other post here I saw that it is not a career progression and can raise a red flag.

@lekiboboe I need your expertise and others who can also help. Thanks

Hello House,

As regards this earlier post of mine concerning the operation of the Visa Officer AH03849, below are the reports so far.

I have received 10 GCMS notes of approved applications, and all 10 were handled by different Visa Officers, 5 of the applications were handled by Visa Officer EAIMEL.. None was handled by AH03849..

I have received 12 GCMS notes of refused application, and 10 were handled by AH03849 and 2 updated by him/her..

It's actually still early to conclude, so please if you know you were approved, please share your GCMS notes with us so we can be on the same page.

Once again I don't wanna believe this particular Visa Officer AH03849 is all about refusals, so more inputs from approved applicants will share more light on this issue.

Peace

My line of thought is that evidence still points to the fact that the visa officer is very senior and is saddled with the responsibility of updating all refusals. So all refusals bears the signature. It's just like in banks where teller pay customers cheques. But any decision to return and not pay a cheque must be signed off by supervisor
